I first reached out to Foiled Rotten Salon through Yelp messenger. I've had a difficult time getting the top portion of my heads natural curl back after box color hair damage. For the last 6 months I tried different home remedies and nothing was working. My hair was dry and curl at the top was just not doing anything. That's when I decided to look on Yelp and see what others have been saying about local salons. This brought me here to FRS, Veronica the owner was very responsive through Yelp messaging and suggested glossing with some curl treatments. After reading the existing reviews I decided to give it a try. Veronica had an opening for today with a stylist that I remember reading good reviews on. An hour later I met with Sandy. She took the time to ask me about my hair and evaluate my needs and my hairs needs. After protein treatments and drying I am happy to report I have some curl revived. I don't expect to leave with my healthy curly hair but I left with hair that I believe is the beginning stages of restoration and rejuvenation. I decided to buy the product line they used to continue the curl treatments. After about a month of use I will be sure to provide another update as to the results. I've had a very difficult time finding a someone to cut my hair and stumbled across this salon on Yelp. I was very nervous to take my niece to a new salon but...Sandy!! She is amazing. She made my niece feel super comfortable. She is down to earth and listened to what my niece wanted. Short and sweet. Absolutely love coming and getting my nails done with Carla. I have been coming for the last 7 months. She is very thorough, takes her time, and very meticulous. I don't feel like I am being rushed to get my nails done. Her spot in the salon is away from other people and very clean. I have done gel manicure, polished manicure, basic pedicure, and express pedicure. Highly recommend! You will not be disappointed! read more

I had never dyed my hair before, but nonetheless - especially after several months in quarantine and several months of scrolling through TikTok - I craved to split dye my bangs. Soon after I called, Olena quickly reached out to me, gave me open appointment dates and a quote, updated me if an earlier appointment slot opened, and was incredibly responsive. Through my stay at the salon, Olena walked me through what she could do with my hair to accomplish my ideal. I saw how meticulous she was with bleaching my hair and ensuring the dye was evenly applied to my hair. Despite the warmth/darkness of my hair, Olena was able to dye my hair to exactly how I envisioned it to be, and even better, to a tone that suits me. I was ECSTATIC to see the final result. If you really want to get spoiled rotten, come see Carolyn! As a blonde, it took me years after moving here to trust someone with my color. I knew after my first appointment with Carolyn that I had finally met someone who was not only extremely skilled with coloring blondes, but who was patient and kind while we worked out what shade worked best for me. Gone are the days where I am afraid to communicate with my colorist- Carolyn couldn't be more open and honest with me! She helps me think beyond the standard colorist/client relationship and see that would could be a team working together to help me look my best. Not someone who gets their hair colored? My hair turned pure, unfiltered snow white by age 30. I can no longer color it myself because it would involve buying 3 bottles of color, At that price point it simply makes more sense to have a professional have a go at it. Since moving here from Memphis a few weeks ago I have been reviewing Yelp trying to find a salon and colorist who understands the art of color correction and to give my pure white hair the TLC it needs. I don't ever use anything with sulfates which will turn it brassy. Krystina is fabulous! She is very professional and sweet...and makes my hair look a natural blonde. Carolyn has been my stylist for years. She's young and hip and can really capture what style you are going for. Whether you show her a picture or describe what you want, she will bring it to life. A pure natural in her craft. I refuse to go to anyone else, but if I buckle and try someone closer, I immediately regret it. I love small businesses that do well by employing excellent, interesting people who are completely invested in what they do. I'm a pedicure man and have to admit holding back on the luxury due to COVID-19. Until I found Carla at Foiled Rotten. Carla specializes in "dry" pedicures with hot towels and no funky foot tubs. She is a seasoned pro who spent part of her career in the medical world, so she is as meticulous about sanitary practices as she is about providing awesome customer service. It's pretty clear that everyone in this place is as passionate about their work as Carla. read more

Sandra (aka Sandy) transformed my hair to exactly what I wanted. I had dyed my (virgin) blonde hair black in November to a dark brown. I went to a salon in January and asked them to turn me back to my original blonde color as best as they could... as you can tell by the before picture they turned me orange! I went for a consultation with Sandy about two weeks after that happened and she told me she would do what she could. She even had me come back two weeks later for a strand test and everything went perfect. Three weeks later she turned me from an orange to a beautiful ash blonde with soft yet gorgeous highlights. She was so wonderful and accommodating to my schedule. I've decided to never dye my hair again but if I did, I would come back to Sandy. read more

Carla did my pedicure and it was done with care. Normally you expect your feet to be washed , cuticle removed and then toes polished but the pedicure here lasted for an hour. I felt pampered. Will go back again. read more

Carolyn is the best! I needed a new colorist/stylist (mine moved), was very afraid of trying someone new. Carolyn instantly changed all that!! She is super friendly and professional, relaxed me immediately! She listened carefully to all my concerns about color, even asked about my color history. My hair came out amazing!! I have desperately been searching for a new salon home and found foiled rotten on yelp. I just get a basic trim, no color, not style, nothing. I saw Carolyn's work and fell in love. First, I sent a message via yelp. The reply was "visit the website for booking and pricing" after I had already tried that. No help at all.. so I figured out how to book on their partner website. I made an appt for a dry/wet cut at 530pm on a weekday. I rush thru traffic to arrive 6 mins early. Nobody greeted me but I said hi and sat down. I wait 20+ mins and nobody had even checked on me. It was 17 mins past my appt time so I got up and left. I drove 20 mins out of my way to come here and now I'll be stuck in traffic for 30 mins trying to get home. I have never felt so disregarded. The salon looked fine, a little cluttered but relatively clean. Can't comment on their work since nobody cared enough to even speak to me or follow through with my booked appointment. Definitely do not recommend even wasting your time if you're like me and looking for a new salon. Back to the drawing board, any suggestions welcome. read more

Saved around $60 by skipping toner and a blow dry. Asked for thick highlights, and they looked a bit skinned but the stylist showed me how they were actually thick. She was right. My stylist Nicole Lindo is truly awesome!! I have never really liked traditional highlighting of my hair by other stylist but then Nicole introduced me to one of her many specialities - Balayage. I have never loved my hair so much and received as many compliments as I have since doing this technique. A girl from work loves my hair so much, she is making an appointment with Nicole to schedule the same thing. I was really looking for a hairdresser that I could go back to religiously after an old hairdresser of mine changed companies and I never heard from her again. I am very pick and particular about my hair because it is really long and I feel like a lot of hairdressers for some reason do not know how to work on lengthy hair.
