So I I have been searching for a new salon home for about 4 years now since moving to Jax. I have thin hair that I've been dying to grow out. I get a basic trim, no color, no style, nothing. Every stylist keeps cutting massive layers into my hair and chopping up my bangs even when I say not to.. I went to Meghan at LocksMyth after calling around frantically for a same day appointment. I made an appt. with Foiled Rotten but sat in the waiting area for 17 minutes past my appt. time with no greeting or anything.... I walked in to LocksMyth and was greeted promptly. The salon is so pretty and clean! I was seated immediately and Megan was very attentive. She understands my struggle since she is growing out a pixie cut. Hallelujah!!! I was in and out in 30 minutes! She washed, cut, and styled my hair. The price was very reasonable. It was $39 vs. the $55 i used to pay elsewhere. I decided to go to this place soley based on the reviews. I absolutely loved how my hair came out. It was done by Stasia aka Stash. She did retouch on my blonde hair and tone. This has been the second time she has done it. The customer service is great. They offer drinks varying from water to alcoholic beverages. The store is very clean and stylish. This trendy salon in Tinseltown is reasonably priced and worth checking out! Loved the vibe and decor as soon as I walked in. I had my hair cut there 2 days ago as a walk-in looking for just a wash and cut. Five o'clock on a weekday was not too backed up, all stylists looked busy on clients and the receptionist was very warm and I took up her offer on some red wine ;) Barely got a few sips in and she set me up with Sami. I was immediately stunned by Sami's makeup and was delighted to find out she does makeup there too (will definitely try that next time). In the chair, she obviously noticed my hair color from another salon, done in November '17. It was originally forest green but has since faded to teal and could use a touch up, but I explained I'm still on the fence between refreshing the color or going to solid black: she was completely understanding and didn't judge it or upsell me on it and just focused on my needs for the day. Wash was very efficient and she was very attentive to temperature and pressure, and the scalp massage though brief, was divine. She styled my hair during the blowout, adding some beautiful soft waves. I know I didn't put them through the test and add-on any bells and whistles but I am going back for something more creative in the future like my hair color and makeup. The salon is pretty well-sized for being in a strip, and has an edgy modern vibe with silver and purple accents, and art on the walls from a local muralist. read more

She was engaging, kind, and very understanding of my situation. My mom had a stroke and we are at Brooks for rehab. Needless to say I had let myself go. If I could put zero stars I would. I can't even tell you or begin to put into words what the stylist has done to me mentally and do my hair. For two sessions I spent over $500. I know that becoming a blonde or vibrating colors takes a lot of sessions because I used to have a vibrate fire engine red hair. When speaking to my hairstylist at the time who was Emily I told her that I wanted to be a platinum blonde but I wasn't sure but I specifically said I do not want highlights anywhere on my head. She assured me that the highlights would be all over my head and it would help me transition into a blonde safely. Keep in mind she's only had a couple years of experience when I specifically asked the salon for someone who was a master stylist. Bottom line is that not only did I get used and I gave her $100 tip the second session Because I always treat the person who is doing my hair my nails my face whatever it is with respect and in the middle of transforming my hair she tells me that she no longer wants to work with me all because I asked her opinion on which hair color does she think would look the best for me because I have a big photo shoot with vogue coming up My hair Is the worst I've ever seen it. The highlights in my hair don't even blend! It's so brassy and orange there are several different colors in my hair and this is why I specifically asked to go from route to end and with processing my hair it's not even toned correctly she had to go back-and-forth and keep asking the manager what to do which I was OK with but she took it upon herself to write me a message saying that she will no longer be doing my hair and has left me with the most shittiest hair color you've ever seen and I spent so so much of my husband hard earn money!!! I had several people tell me not to go there but that was after I had already established a hair relationship with Emily the customer service was awful they didn't even have AC and not only was she doing my hair but she had students working on my hair so she could get in other customers to make money I feel completely used and embarrassed and the worst part of it all, I can't believe someone would question my disability when that has nothing to do with my hair. Be very very careful when going to the salon there are a few people in there that are really good but I didn't get a chance to meet with them. Honestly this girl should of never touched my hair! And also while I note While using the bathroom a lot because I was there for 5 hours each session I came back to my purse and when it was time to check out a 100$ bill was missing from my Louis Vuitton wallet and they did nothing to help me find it or to look at their camera read more

Ashtyn has done a great job on my hair twice now. My first cut and balayage lasted me 12 weeks, and I probably could've gone longer! I returned today and was just as pleased. She also used a great toner and suggested I could come back in between visits for just the toner to keep the warmth at bay. Everyone at the salon is friendly! They are also pretty great with the schedule, you don't HAVE to book weeks in advanced! I've called and gotten in the same day before. One night I asked a complete stranger about her cut and she gave me the same answer I used to give when I was asked about mine ( when "M" used to cut it ). I have never looked back. I pretty much got the style I wanted and my friend was satisfied with her cut as well. The only thing strange to me was how my hair cut was 55 bucks and my friend's was 39. I just wished someone explained to me throughly about the price difference since we both got our hair cut short to be donated. But regardless of price, service is excellent and your cuts come with wash and blow dry. I am fairly certain I have been going to Lindsey for more than a decade now. I followed her whenever she switched salons and now to Locks Myth. I moved away for three years but have recently just started seeing her again since moving back. She is amazing and I am so happy she has her own salon now. The place itself is exceptionally aesthetically pleasing. I mean gorgeous inside (classy, modern, fun, with a little funky)! They offer Kevin Murphy hair products at the salon, if you're a product junkie. I called ahead for my appointment and they were able to accommodate me next day! The staff is friendly, I especially enjoyed talking with Erin (sp?) who helped Lindsey out. My cut and style was absolutely perfect. I asked for Chrissy Teigen hair (the beachy lob) and they definitely delivered. I have been getting so many compliments since having it done, even from other stylists randomly in public. I had hair breakage from going from black to blonde too fast and Lindsey did a great job of fixing it! It is much easier to keep up with also! Hair by Zoltana Zoltana absolutely is the best hairstylist I've seen in the past 18 years. I met her outside the salon in town. She told me she was a stylist. I told her that I really needed someone desperately. I'm 62 years old with heavily damaged and falling out hair. I've tried multiple times to simply get a pretty blonde color. I've never been happy with what other hairstylists have done. Some couldn't get to color to adhere; others gave me dirty blondes, simply blondes that were ugly. Zoe told me that she would have no problem providing me with the color I wanted. I thought yep, here we go again. I sat down in her chair, and immediately she became this very confident, professional, enthusiastic, and beautiful young hairstylist. She felt of my hair, and instantly, she told me exactly what I needed. She went to work and added the color to my hair with foils. I was so afraid it would turn out as usual. After the wash and rinse, she began blow drying my bangs. She turned and left to grab something. I opened my eyes and glanced in the mirror. OMG!!!!!! It was the exact color I had always longed for!!!!!! I was almost in tears. I WAS SHOCKED! It took me 18 years to find this fabulous young lady. She sold me products that would replenish my hair, plus scheduled weekly appts. for deep conditioning treatments. She has, literally, changed my life. Zoe and the folks at this salon are amazing. Finally, after a whole year in Jacksonville, I found a salon I'll be returning to for all my hair-related needs. Chris gave me a layered cut and Brazilian blowout, both of which were perfect. I had gotten a Brazilian blowout from another salon here in Jax, and after getting it from Locks Myth I now know that I was ripped off at the other place. They were probably not really certified in performing the Brazilian blowout. Another great thing about this salon is they make you feel very comfortable. This was my first visit to Lock Smyth. Erin was so great! Ordinarily, I only trim about an inch of my hair, but I had a lot of dry and broken hair from prior coloring and daily heat, so I was considering cutting a little more than usual to clean it all up. I started with very dark brown hair with almost no dimension and ended with a beautiful head of "baby-lights" as Amber called them. Now it looks more natural and flattering for my skin tone.
