Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience with Rachel at Bold City Hair. I sought her services during a vulnerable time while dealing with medical-related hair loss, and I left feeling taken advantage of rather than cared for. During my consultation, I was told that my extension service included routine maintenance appointments, such as mini move-ups. However, when it came time for those maintenance visits, my appointments were repeatedly canceled--often multiple times in a row. Rescheduling frequently took several days, only for the new appointment to be canceled again. In contrast, the appointments that involved larger charges, such as removing and reinstalling the extensions, were kept. That pattern left me questioning whether my prepaid maintenance appointments were being prioritized. I also had services added to my bill, including a special scalp treatment, without discussing or obtaining my approval beforehand. Additionally, I was charged for a full highlight service on my scalp even though the area would ultimately be covered by a full hair topper, which did not seem appropriate or necessary in my situation. Another concern was the salon environment. During my appointments, I noticed a strong smell of cigarette smoke on the stylist's hands, which made the experience unpleasant. My advice is to ask detailed questions during your consultation about exactly what maintenance is included, how cancellations are handled, whether additional services will ever be performed without your consent, and what their policies are regarding rescheduling. I wish I had done so. I cannot recommend this business based on my experience, and I hope sharing it helps others make an informed decision.

While I'm not the type that normally frequents Salons, but just per my observation, Jammie is really great with what she does; she knows her stuff.   She is even more fantastic with kids. She was very patient with my daughter. My daughter really liked her a lot to the point that when it was time for her to get her hair cut again, Jammie would be the first person she wants to go to.   You can find Jammie at Foiled Rotten Salon off Baymeadows Road, in Jacksonville. I highly recommend Jammie. She is definitely a "cut" above the rest =)   And for those curious minded, Jammie does not do my hair. However, while Nicole's ASSISTANTwas doing the cap highlights, and she was doing NOTHING as she had finished for the day, Nicole said she wanted to do the topper at a later appt. I reluctantly agreed for her convenience!
