I went in the other day. After reading the review from DY I decided to try this salon. The best part was they have coupons on the website! Lisa did my hair. I told her I wanted something a little funkier and we found a great balance. She was easy-going and the perfect amount of talkative. I can't stand when someone yaps in your ear OR when someone won't even strike up a conversation. Lisa was the perfect combination! I came to Jacksonville to stay for a few months because of covid and I was in need of a haircut. My mom's friend told me about this salon so I decided to give it a try. As an asian, it's hard to find a hairstylist that can cut my type of hair which is thick and huge. My hairstylist Ashley did a great job cutting my hair. I was really impressed with her skill. However I wanted her to cut it shorter and she just didn't want to for some reasons. She did just cut really tiny bit more of my hair, which didn't make a dent at all ..if she could be a little more accommodating it would be perfect. What a great experience! I went in after speaking to the owner on the phone the night before. The lady doing my hair had quoted me a bit different price when I sat in her chair - so after speaking to the owner again we realized that what my stylist wanted to do for me (bayalage) was different then what I asked for the night before .. Aka much more expensive. Anyhow I sat back down in Neli's chair and she said you know what I'll do the bayalage for you for the same price as you were quoted . That will help with next time you come in you just pay for touch up. Let's say she took a significant amount of what I should have been charged! Anna is our go-to stylist. Being from California, it's tough to find an Asian stylist who's up to date on the hairstyles that are trending. Rarely do hairstylists here understand or are even aware of the new trends, and when I show them photos, they still can't seem to get it right. Anna was able to cut my husband's hair most similarly to the photo we showed her, and although it was a lot shorter than in the photo, we realized she had actually cut it in a way so it wouldn't grow out too quickly and he could rock the trendy hairstyle for a while before having to come in and cut it again. I had the hardest time finding a stylist that knows how to cut thick/coarse asian hair, and Joo did an swesome job. She knows how to thin out my hair nicely and doesnt make blunt cuts like most caucasion stylists do (blunt cuts dont look nice on asian textured hair). B2Y Salon has the best stylist, Joo who understands curly and thick hair. I have lived in Jacksonville for a year and half and was looking for someone who knew how to cut my hair. I always ended up with uneven hair and went home upset. Joo knew exactly what needs to be done to get an even cut especially for curly hair. Before she even started cutting my hair, she educated me on how to take care of my hair and then washed it-bottom line: She cared about her clients even with her busy schedule. She recommended that to get an even better result , she needs an hr to do the job: Curly hair needs to be straighten first before you cut it. I started with another lady first but then shifted to Anna for my very thick, long hair that few people have been able to style well. She is just fabulous! Listened well, looked me over and gave me the best haircuts ever. I have since cut my almost waist long hair to a short short (very sleek) boycut, to shoulder length layers and growing again and she's had me looking great at every length. Today I got my hair done by Chris! He did a fantastic job! It had been awhile since I had anything done to it because finding someone who can manage my thick hair is hard. In the past I've not been so lucky getting a stylist who knows how to cut my hair and in result of many bad haircuts I get very anxious when someone wants to touch my hair. Chris took his time washing, cutting, and styling my hair. I'm glad that he knew what he was doing and gave me some tips to help manage my hair a little bit better. This is my second time going here and both visits have been very enjoyable. I think for all that they do the price is reasonable for what you get. I have been going to Tatiana at this salon for about 2 years now and honestly every time I leave the salon I am always happy with the quality of my hair cut. I tried a demi-dye for the first time because I have always thought about dying my hair, but have never had the guts to do it. The demi-dye I did to my hair was amazing. She knows how to give you what you want, but also talks to you about what techniques/style will flatter you more. Had my hair cut by Anna today. She is awesome! I have very thick, straight hair that I wear in a short bob. She cut it dry, texturized it and got just the right angle i wanted in the back. I moved to jax few months back, and in serious need of getting my hair fixed... I was contemplating between salon PK and salon b2y. I called salon PK and they were busy. So I gave salon b2y a try. (They have Instagram and Facebook, check out the work it is amazing) Kim the receptionist (polite and attentive) asked which stylist I wanted since I didn't know anyone and it was my first time she referred me to Nina. Being skeptical since it was my first time I brought along my wish pic, of course the asian hair master guy tangs pic from Pinterest. I went for my appointment didn't have to wait or anything, I was sat right away with a bottle of water. I showed Nina my wish pic... Nina had to ask Anna (the owner, she's seriously fabulous from head to toe, everything about her is wow, her hair, her accessory, you can tell she's the boss woman) for advice on how to go on about miserable my dark and orange hair... And Anna herself being Korean knew exactly what to do with my asian hair(should mention I'm asian too) So Nina (she is seriously great!! I deff recommend her next to the boss lady) went to work with my hair and after a couple of hours my hair color was done, omg, I am so in love with my hair color....(it became even better than I wanted!) Unfortunately Nina had errands to run so Chris took over to wash my hair and put toner in my hair, he was very pleasant and took his time washing my hair and gave recommendations on shampoo and my hair cut etc... I was to originally come back later to get my hair cut because Nina had emergency errands but Anna kindly took over and cut my hair and even gave me a glaze treatment!! I had such a wonderful experience today. I would recommend it to anyone who wants their hair cut by real professionals, who knows what they are doing.
