I was really excited to try the Forge and finally got the opportunity last night with a couple girlfriends. Being a Celina local, I was looking forward to a place to get a great steak. I did not get a steak, almost had a heart attack when I saw the prices. Upon reading the reviews, I'm glad now that I did not. They definitely have some work to do in that regard. I'll start with the decor. It is very basic, I think they were going for rustic, but it just looks plain and not like a high-end steakhouse at all. There is metal sheeting on the wall, lots of hanging bulbs that flickered the entire meal. Not sure if that is an electrical issue or what, but it was really strange. It was very warm inside, they had a little AC unit blowing in the corner, but we were all, sweating by the end of the meal. There was really no decor on the wall, being an interior designer. That is my first thing I'm going to observe and was really underwhelmed with their aesthetic choices. If it's a high-end steakhouse that they are looking for, they definitely need to rebrand and revise in my opinion. We were seated promptly and the server was friendly enough. The owner did stop by and welcome us, nice guy. I understand that they've been open for about six weeks and have made some changes based on client reviews, and yelp certainly had more negative reviews than Google I am seeing after the fact. I got the salmon for dinner, Caesar salad and asparagus for the side. The salmon was tasty enough, the asparagus was overcooked. My friend got the pecan crusted chicken, I tried a piece and it was really bland. She got a Caesar salad as well and a side of green beans. I would suggest offering a lower price steak option, reconfiguring the tables and putting in a stronger AC unit to facilitate the space and doing some thing about all of that glaring Sheetmetal. Add some decor and art, add some soundproofing, music and address the flickering lights. I'm hoping that they can tweak and become successful, the area definitely needs a high-end presence, and would probably pay it if the ambience and food warrants it. But my experience was only a 3 star currently, sad to say. read more

I really really wanted to love this place and give it a glowing review. However I have to be honest, it's just not a good steak restaurant. Atmosphere: 3/5 it's pretty basic, clean and simple but not high end steakhouse by any means. Service: 3/5 the service was good but not high end steakhouse good. Can't complain but probably on par with a top notch Texas Roadhouse vs a high end steakhouse that this wants to be. Food: Steak is what I am rating because that's what I came here for. We had 2 16oz ribeyes, one order medium rare and one rare. Both over cooked and worse was they are so thin it was pathetic for a real steak house. The meat was so under seasoned it had no flavor and it was so charred on the outside it was almost repulsive. Unfortunately Texas Roadhouse gets a 5/5 compared to this at 1/2 the cost. I talked to the owner in the way out and gave him my opinion. I hope he make a change soon, otherwise we will likely loose this dinner option soon. Oh also! The baked potato was so under cooked I could not eat it! And the Cesar salad was soggy. I might be back to try again, but as high end streak house prices for Golden Corral steaks (that might be better) I am not sure I will waste another $175 to update the review. read more

Rating: 3.5 stars TLDR: there are definitely some bumps that I think they can improve on (better air conditioning, more salad options, wait times, butter topping to steak ratio, complimentary bread) but they also have a good foundation going so far (steaks are perfectly cooked and delicious, great quality meats that also support Texas farms) We came here tonight for date night as they just had their grand opening 9 days ago and we were excited to try it out. With that, I will say some grace is extended as there were multiple large parties dining here and they were down two servers. Overall, the ambiance is cute and rustic. Not sure if the air conditioning was working or not since it felt pretty warm in there or if it was just because a lot of people were here tonight. The menu is steak focused, with emphasis on locally sourced meats from Range Hand Meat Company and Heartbrand Beef Akaushi from South Texas for their Wagyu cuts. Prices are pretty high for the Celina Square area, more like Dallas prices. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms ($18) for an appetizer and I ordered the 6 oz prime filet ($48) with blue cheese butter ($5) and a side of green beans with almonds. Hubby ordered the 16 oz prime ribeye ($56) with garlic herb butter ($5) and a loaded baked potato. All steak entrees come with the salad bar and a side. First off, the salad bar was pretty mediocre. There wasn't very many vegetable options to put in your salad. There were two different kinds of lettuces, dressings (ranch, vinaigrette, thousand island, and blue cheese), and an assortment of toppings (cucumber salad, carrot slaw with raisins, sun flower seeds, grated cheeses, hard boiled eggs, fruits, salamis, and pasta salad. I would have liked to have some tomatoes, peppers, avocados or some other veggies as options. I ended up doing lettuce, vinaigrette, Parmesan cheese, cucumber salad, and the carrot slaw and it was good. The stuffed mushrooms were tasty! They were stuffed with sausage and spinach and 5 come on a plate. Seasoned well and I enjoyed them. I ordered two cocktails to try. The first one was the prickly pear blackberry martini. I do not recommend. It tasted very artificial. I couldn't taste any prickly pear, it kind of just tasted medicinal almost. The second drink I had was the cucumber basil gimlet and that was a lot better. Refreshing, not overly sweet or artificial tasting. It took quite a long time for our entrees to come out. Almost an hour actually but again they were pretty swamped tonight and short staffed so we didn't mind too much. We were just enjoying ourselves while we waited. What would have made it better would be if there was complimentary bread or something to nibble on. When our entrees finally came out, we were ready to dig in. The steaks were seasoned really well and both were cooked perfectly. We both got medium rare and cutting into the meats, they were the perfect shade of red inside. The garlic herb butter on hubby's prime rib was delicious. My blue cheese butter topping for my steak was also really yummy, however the ratio of butter to the size of my 6 oz steak was really off. The butter pat covered the entirety of the top of my steak. Just way too much. And the butter was a bit hard and cold. I ended up pushing most of it off onto my plate and just using my knife to spread a bit onto each bite as I ate through it. Flavors and quality of the steaks were top notch. Even though the price point is high for Celina, I do think the steaks are worth it. We were going to get dessert to go since our waitress tempted us. I wanted the bread pudding as I love a good bread pudding. However, she came back and said the chef told her the bread pudding wasn't good tonight and didn't recommend us to get it. I really appreciate the honesty so definitely thumbs up to our waitress and the chef for that. We left without dessert but hopefully will get to try it in the future! read more

Sadly, we did not listen to the other reviews and had the same experience as many. HOWEVER, we did provide feedback during our visit and the manager was very understanding and receptive. They're actively working to change things and WANT the feedback. We'll give it a try again in 6 months time to see if there's been any change. For the entrées, I've had the steak sandwich, both forge burgers, and the steak salad. For the appetizers,, I've had onion rings, mushrooms, and french fries. I've gone there two different times and I think they need to stick with the seasoned skinny fries instead of the steak fries. The ambience is bland due to the lack of music. Unfortunately, I think they have over prioritized some things out of order. Being that it's the only steakhouse in town, it is in fact, a "steakhouse". With that being said, I would not compare this to any steakhouse that I've been to. This "steak house" has the potential to be a really cool bar but the ambience, the staff, and the menu all need to change. I'm leaving a very modest review on this spot because I don't like seeing small town businesses fail, and I only want people here to be successful. Again, another unfortunate event is to go there twice and see that there hasn't been much change. I think it's important to get this message out there to keep small towns booming with growth and have something to be proud of! For the future, I hope that an influx of individuals within this community decide without any hesitation on if they want to spend money at this place in the future or not! As for changing the menu: Please make the burgers are the star of this place! Those are the best burgers I've had in North Texas. With the ambience: Get rid of the five star dining dream and add music and go American casual. With service: Y'll need to market and hire more people as well as keep the small town flair. Also add an open sign in the front. It looks closed from the roadside. It's not easy but I think understanding these prices are misleading to this restaurant experience, this place can get better! A major red flag for a restaurant at their price point, service should be polished and attentive, which includes properly packing leftovers, removing wine glasses with no wine. Having to do it yourself takes away from the experience and makes it feel more like a casual chain rather than an upscale establishment. Between the mediocre food, Chili's quality steak at Capital Grille prices, gritty key lime pie, and dry salmon, this place is all about the price tag without delivering on the quality. The building is really cool! Very open, industrial and unique. However, the lights consistently flickered, not sure if that was part of the ambiance or an electrical issue. Service was very good! The hostesses were friendly and our waitress was very kind and pleasant. I had the charcuterie board with a cocktail. The charcuterie board presentation was very appealing and the selections were good! The cocktail was extremely sweet and syrupy. Been waiting to go to the Forge for awhile. It did not disappoint. Were seated and greated upon arrival. Everything was paced perfectly. Rachel was great. The stuffed mushrooms were absolutely to die for and the steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Even the caeser salad was unique but traditional and crisp and refreshing. The asparagus and Mac and cheese were amazing sides. And the blue cheese butter was a perfect add on to the steak. Which I forgot to order and they added on without missing a beat! Just moved to the city ....came in on a Thursday for dinner to celebrate and it was not a pleasant experience. I sat at the bar and eventually had to ask for a menu? Hmm ok....my Caesar salad wasn't fresh, skimpy, barely any croutons, salmon was overcooked and dry. It was just ok but didn't want to complain. Some regulars came in shortly after and ordered a Caesar salad it looked amazing! Full, fresh, plenty croutons, fresh Parmesan on top total opposite of mine. Hmm?? Halfway through finishing my food and still a full glass of wine and I'm interrupted by server with my check being dropped??? Two ladies on my left were there before me casually having drinks no bill till they were ready to go and a couple to the right of me had apps, entrees, still sitting drinking and no bill. So I'm the only one still eating and I have a bill?? My plate hasn't been taken away, I wanted to order more food but yet I have my bill as I'm still chewing! Hmm?? I wanted to finish my food and wine in peace and again the server asked if the check was ready! No mention of if I wanted another glass of wine or if u wanted to order anything else just came off as pay and go. It wasn't busy plenty of seating so I don't understand why I was targeted to hurry up eat and pay. I mentioned I'm considering dessert and she said sounds nice and walks off. We came here the first week of September to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday and could not have been more happy with our choice! We started with a couple appetizers and although the Texas fries are a great option our favorite was the stuffed mushrooms. Everyone raved and one person in the group ordered a second plate of them to supplement his entree! We had drinks with the starters and they were well made and delicious. Steaks were perfect, cooked to appropriate temps, quality! We got a few deserts and shared and each plate was devoured. This is high end food in a comfort non-pretentious atmosphere. This steak house is SO good! Highly recommend! What an amazing addition to Celina! So thrilled to have a local spot open 7 days a week! (If you're local, you know this is a rarity!) Service was top tier, our waitress was attentive and had great recommendations. Everything we had was a hit: Texas Popcorn, the salad bar, margs, 6 oz Waygu Filet Mignon , burger, loaded baked potato, Mac n cheese. Would've LOVED to try dessert but obviously we were stuffed! Wife and I ate here last night to try out the new/local steak house. Quick summary: side were the highlight and the steak were meh. Roadhouse steaks at Perry's steak house prices. Full review below. Atmosphere: simple casual with touches of upscale. Tables were clean and simple. Chairs were a little wonky. Swapped out a chair at my table still a little wonky. Service: server was very polite and prompt and most importantly timely. She always seemed to Come at the perfect time. Drinks: wife had a local wine which she enjoyed as I had a draft beer which came out warm. When I brought this up she quickly brought out a fresh one which was ice cold. Unlucky on the tap (either last draft or first draft) I guess. Food: our appetizer was the spinach artichoke dip which was fantastic! One of the better ones I have had! Unfortunately that was the highest point of the dinner. Wife ordered the fillet and I a New York strip. We were suppose to have a salad bar (said on menu) but didn't see one or was told we're to go. Wish we were told but probably should have asked. Steaks came out and were cook roughly to what we requested (rare and medium rare). Wife had the asparagus side which was light and refreshing. I had the pecan sweet potato which was sweet savory and crunchy in all the right ways. However the steaks were a major let down. They needed salt at least and tasted plain. At the price point I was expecting Perry's Steak house instead we got roadhouse at Perry prices. She didn't come back to check in on us after the food was served and we had to ask for the check. My fiancé and I went for the soft opening. The waiter we got was young and seemed a little awkward (not a huge deal for a soft opening). I got a filet, and I will say it was one of the best filets I've had. The green beans were delicious as well. The cons? The ambiance was extremely disappointing. I was so excited to experience a fancy high-end date night, and that just wasn't the case. The lights were too bright (and randomly flickered) and the decorations and furniture were extremely cheap. The chair I was sitting on felt like it could collapse at any moment (and I'm a fairly small person). Was the food good? Absolutely. Would I go back? No-not with the price point and the ambiance. We came in for a date night and were warmly greeted and welcomed as soon as we walked in. We were seated quickly at one of the four top tables. We enjoyed a cocktail while taking in the menu which is quite large, with many options. The drinks were well crafted and had great flavor, I thoroughly enjoyed my Old Fashioned. It wasn't cold smoked but it was still quite good. For our appetizer, our party of four had the Texas Popcorn on the recommendation of our waitress, Jordan. The portion size was huge and could easily be a meal for a single person or even two. I do recommend trying it and the charcuterie board looked absolutely amazing at the table next to us. For our main course we ordered two 16oz Strips, Texas Pecan Crusted Chicken and the Salmon. I ordered the garlic herb butter on my steak and it did not disappoint! Perfectly crusted medium rare for both steaks with big time flavor! The chicken has a generous coating of pecans with an enjoyable crunch! The salmon was also delicious and was presented beautifully with a baked sweet potato. Our sides were served family style so that we could all try a little. The fries were crispy, get the truffle seasoning and thank me later, and were delicious. The buttered skillet corn was amazing and was easily the favorite at the table. Again, portion sizes were matched well with the entree and there was plenty for us all to enjoy. For dessert we went with family style again and tried the Kristin's Carrot Cake and Caramel Cheesecake. The carrot cake will change your life, in a fantastic way. It is amazing! The cheesecake is good but had too much caramel sauce on for my personal taste. For the ambience, I love the fact that the music isn't blaring. Flemmings, Capitol Grille etc, all amazing. But the music is so loud that you can't have a conversation at your table. The Forge background level music and is just right in my opinion. My wife and I visited The Forge 1912 last night to celebrate her birthday, eager to try the restaurant since it first opened. We were excited to have a higher-end steakhouse dining option in Celina and were looking forward to a special experience. To sample a variety of dishes, we ordered different entrees and sides. Unfortunately, our dinner experience was disappointing. The service was slow, despite only a few tables being occupied. My Caesar salad was subpar as the lettuce was a bit limp and not crisp. I ordered my steak medium-rare, but it arrived medium-well and was very thinly cut. Not what I would expect from higher-end steak restaurant. My wife's salmon was overcooked and dry. The bright spot was the stuffed mushrooms we had as an appetizer. Given the premium prices, we expected both exceptional food and service. Sadly, this wasn't the case. Moving forward, we'll continue to travel a bit further for meals at a steak restaurant like Rick's with similar prices that consistently deliver both quality steaks and excellent service. Honestly, both the steak and the service at Texas Road House nearby in Prosper are better than our experience at The Forge for half the price. read more

Everything we ordered was so well prepared and everything we watched come out of the kitchen looked absolutely phenomenal. I can't wait to go back and try other items. This is NOT a steakhouse. This is an overpriced casual reataurant with poor service. The Service is SLOW. Never checked in and asked how food was, we had to flag the manager for service help. The salads come out 2 miuntes before the steaks. Aslo food does not come out together - one entree at a time and side dishes seperate one at time. Food is substandard. Salads overflowing the plates. Over Cooksed and Undercooked steaks. Over cooked chicken, undercooked asparagus. Powdery mousse The manager came to the table to apologise for the food and took off the incrorrect steak off the bill. She said they didnt have a Chef on site that day - only line cooks - and she would speak with them. WHAT - a steakhouse with out a Chef onsite. If this is going to "pretend" to be a steakhouse with $60+ steaks... you should have a trained chef properly preparing the dishes, instead of houly line cooks. Also did not offer a bread basket like upscale steak restaurants.. If you want to go to a brightly lit casual restaurant for $18 hamburgers, maybe this would be OK... but we did not get hamburgers and would be afraid the line cooks will undercook the meat. read more

We were one of only 3 customers seated at tables when we came in - took a few minutes for someone to even greet us as someone had to grab a hostess from the back (?), took a while to bring us water/take our order, and even longer for food to eventually come out. French fries were more FRIED than there was an actual potato in them. Onion rings were over-fried and made a mess. Music playing was sad country and we frequently looked around to see NO staff out on the floor. It just felt kinda ...lonely? The servers were nice and friendly - but the hype built up for this new location did not live up to the experience in my opinion. Really cute decor - but it needs some continued attention. As we walked into the restaurant the vibe is very casual got sat quickly to a small booth. I sat down, noticed that the booth was not bolted down and moved as I sat. Staff here are very new like this is their first job ever. Lack of knowledge and professionalism. I had a lemon drop martini drink which was straight vodka with a drop of lemon, asked if they did smoked old fashions server was not aware and we answered the question ourselves with a look over at the bar, husband ended up going with a soda as my he didn't feel like an old fashion would come out the way he would want even if not smoked. Stuffed mushrooms for an app both my husband and I thought they tasted like pizza. The amount of ground sausage in the stuffing was too much. Main meal I ordered the 8oz wagyu fillet with herb garlic butter and shrimp Bennett, salad bar and asiago bruschetta asparagus. My husband ordered The Forge Classic Burger. I don't understand the salad bar at a "upscale" steak house but I love a salad bar and was ready to indulge, as I walked up I was quickly disappointed. For a place having a salad bar there are minimal options. There is no thought to what should be on a salad bar, ultimately it seems cheap like they are using whatever is left in the kitchen to not get thrown out. Husband had a Cesar salad which was dry. Burger and steak came out, steak looked strange from the beginning I question if it is actually wagyu. It was missing the herb garlic butter. I asked the server where the butter was and she was super nice apologized and came out with a ramekin with the cold butter. I added the butter to the steak and it was not going to melt my husband then flagged the server and asked for the steak to be sent back so the butter would melt as that is how it should be coming out in the first place. The steak comes back now little too cooked for my liking but whatever the thing that really annoyed or gave us a disappointed feeling is that the steak was not presented correctly and when we asked for the butter and the steak was sent back it should have returned with a manager to make sure we were still happy and apologize for the mishap. Stuffed mushrooms claim they are Monterrey jack cheese stuffed with jalapeño and bacon the only thing I had was an over cooked bacon wrapped shrimp with a layer of sweet sauce covering it no jalapeño and if there was cheese I didn't taste or see any. Asparagus was little crunchy for my liking and just seemed blah. Over all I paid $103 for a dressed up steak that was extremely disappointing which I didn't even finish it. Husbands burger with fries, he didn't care for the tallow fries I thought the crunch was nice but I like crunchy fries, burger was very basic. No flavor expect for the sauce and we swear it was most likely a frozen meat patty. Both my husband and I have been to many steak houses in the surrounding area and across the country and this place is no where near what they claim or what the goal is presented to the community. If this place is wanting to be an Eddie V's, Perry's or STK they are far from it. I will bet this place will remain open and continue to receive customers but due to lack of customer knowledge of what an actual quality elegant steakhouse is suppose to be and feel like eating at. We will not be going back as there are too many things that are wrong with this place for me to justify the price tag for a meal. Ultimately I felt bamboozled by this place. Went here for Mother's Day brunch and had a terrible experience. Took an hour to get our food even after speaking with the manager about the long wait. The food was not worth the wait... the wagyu brunch burger was dry, steak and eggs was bland,, and I've had better French toast at iHop. Service really needs help here unfortunately. I tried the burger and it was mediocre.

I love the ambience and the fact that music isn't blasting! You can have a nice conversation without screaming. Bar area is nice and the Manhattan was amazing! Texas Popcorn (fried steak bites) was sooo good. I ordered the filet and it was tender and cooked perfectly. The only suggestion is that the brie could've been "meltier."
