This was a good little local breakfast place. We didn't order anything outside of the ordinary which was OMG wowed but all the food was VERY solid in taste, seasoning and temperature. The staff was very friendly and great with service. The only reason I kept one star was it smelled a little musty/stuffy inside. I don't want to smell any smells other than delicious food while dining out. I'll definitely visit again and update if the musty smell is gone! read more

What a delicious breakfast we had this morning. Our server "Deja" was very welcoming and friendly. This gal was on top of her job! She was really a joy to interact with. Took our order and our dishes were PERFECTION! The owners came around and asked about our meal and filled up our coffee cups. DEJA stopped by to check on us and to make sure everything was to our liking. Comments to the staff here! EVERYONE was working as a TEAM! Stopped in for lunch. Hubby had a meatlovers omelet, he rated it a 5. Daughter had a corned beef skillet and rated it a 4. Unfortunately I tried the chicken salad croissant. Besides chicken, it was supposed to have apples, cranberries, raisins, and celery. I couldn't find or taste any apples, cranberries, or celery. Worst experience I've ever had. 6 of us were sat at a booth for 2-3 people and got the more rude response "what do you expect me to do" when being asked to move somewhere else. Then did not receive service for 15 minutes. And to top it off I ordered my CHILD chicken fingers - which came out completely raw. I went to the front and showed the "owner" and she said she would fire the cook and laughed. She went to say he's messed up all day and that I wouldn't be charged for the chicken fingers ?!? Horribly rude and absurd. No comment on how my child ate their raw chicken. read more

This place is a neighborhood restaurant with delicious food and friendly service. They have good coffee and their soup is the best. Hi, good people. Happy Saturday... again, as every day is Saturday. Today is Saturday #1. How do I start? A quick jaunt up to Celina. Got the hungries so pop open Yelp to see where you would eat. You lead me to the star of Celina, the Celina Star Cafe. Enter the door, and the spot is hopping. Super small town, but everyone is here. This is the brunch spot. Nice, trendy, warm feel to it. The crowd is a mix of every generation. Fully staffed. Sat quickly, drink order taken almost immediately. So far, running on all cylinders. Meal came out within 10 minutes of oyr ordering. I meant to take pics, but it was so appealing, I ate. I ordered hash browns crispy, with crispy onions. For once in my brunch or breakfast experience, the onions were deep friend brown, caramelized perfection. It was as if they looked into my brain, saw what I meant, duplicated it. Okay so the food was perfect. Service is another story. It wasn't perfect. Go up a level from perfect. It was familial. Like you are a close relative. They almost have everyone on the floor check on every table in the building. They rove and check on you so you don't feel the need to need. 6 star spot. We have been here a number of times over the past 2 years but today's experience left us not planning on returning. Prices have gone way up and quality/taste has gone down. Bill for 2 adults & 2 children $92 before tip! Additionally an automatic "non cash adjustment" was added without making us aware of it! Fair warning that the "thee egg omelette" is more like six! They had Lavazza coffee, which is very pleasant. It's clean (thank you for wiping the seats!), some of the employees were masked and nobody minded that we were, and the staff was really helpful and friendly. Stopped by for a quick lunch on a Saturday and there was no wait. Pictures of the hamburgers looked good so we tried the bacon cheeseburger. It was...OK. Cooked fine and bun was fresh but not much seasoning and meat was really dense and almost dry. The fries were really good. Our Cokes were "off" and our server (Aneysia - who did a great job) noticed we were tasting them and came over to say the Coke machine needed fixing and the CO2 was off. I thought they wouldn't charge us for the sodas we barely drank but nope...charged $5.98 for two drinks. I'm sure we could've requested it to be removed but I always like to see how a business responds in these known situations We'll give them another try for breakfast as it does get good reviews overall. read more

Delish brekke spot in Celina! I heard they get super busy on Sundays after church but my first visit was mid week and we had no wait for a table. My brother and his wife dined in twice, I joined them once. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive. I ordered the french toast, which was yummy. I also tried the turkey sausage. My sister in law had the oatmeal the morning we came together and my brother had some sort of savory dish - I'm not sure I even paid attention to what it was but we all enjoyed our meal. Let me start by saying staff were very friendly and the service was great. I ordered the All American Breakfast for $16.99 and it came with 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacon strips, and 2 sausages. The pancakes tasted like the batter they use at hotels for their continental breakfast waffles- same thing with the syrup- the whole plate was just disappointing. I would come back and try the omelets or something else but the All American wasn't worth the price for the quality of food. read more

The service was good, until we disclosed that we had a 10% discount that had been published on Yelp. Once that was disclosed, a 20% automatic gratuity was slapped on our bill and the tone changed. Solid breakfast location in Celina. My family has made this their only breakfast place since we moved here because it's consistent and dependable for food and service. I like to call ahead to see how busy they are. Sometimes you can get in and sat immediately even on a weekend morning--other times you'll have to wait it out like every where else. My kids love the Mickey Mouse pancakes and their hot chocolate. I like the chilaquiles or an omelet. It's an easy win for our family. read more

This is an ok brunch establishment. The skillets are good and so is the staff. The prices have gotten to high for the food. The sausage is premade and the food quality doesn't warrant the high prices. I understand they are paying more for food, and I certainly understand the margins are low, my complaint would be the price doesn't match the quality. If you're in the area it's worth looking into, the staff is super friendly and helpful, my only complaint is price versus quality. read more

If I could give them a zero star review I would do so. We have eaten here a multitude of times, there are servers there that we really like, and who treat our kids well. We do think the food is very over priced. Outside of that, today marked our families last visit there. At 10:20 after paying my bill, I was finishing my coffee and water, and the hostess who had been also arguing with who I think is the owner at the front proceed to try and tell me nicely I had to go because they needed the table. To be clear, I didn't have a computer out, and I wasn't overstaying my welcome by any means. This is simply not acceptable, and even said "nicely", is incredibly rude. Took my local Texas- based family (party of 11!!!!) here for breakfast on a whim and we got a table immediately even though the place looked busy! Waitress was fast and efficient taking orders from 3 (really well behaved) kids, 3 couples in their 40s/50s, and our Dad and step-mom without a mistake in our drinks, orders and various add-ons and substitions!! Chocolate chip pancakes were amazing (and HUGE),chicken and waffles were the bomb, biscuits and gravy and eggs and chicken fried chicken and eggs Benedict....on and on....were hot, tasty, and filling to the point of putting us into a food coma.
