The food was excellent and our server, Ryan was phenomenal. We come to Chuy's a ton and are normally very pleased. However, the young hostess at the front at ~2:00pm today (6/27/2026) was incredibly rude. I don't expect you to be ecstatic and I understand the realities of a tough modern economy and the feeling of being under appreciated in a service job. However, please show the bare minimum level of polite kindness and muster up a smile to greet your guests and grant them the chance to reciprocate that kindness in turn. The hostess forgot to check us in when we asked for a table for 2- resulting in us waiting to be seated for 20 min, thinking that they were just really busy- meanwhile, they had no record of us being there waiting for a table! It was only after we asked them approximately how much longer it might be, that they realized their mistake...but didn't seem to really care. Highly unprofessional and weird behavior. Service was also abysmal- our waitress was monosyllabic, didn't bother to write our order down, then forgot to bring an extra jalapeno ranch sauce that we had asked for, and seemed to avoid making eye contact with our table as she walked past us a few times. My food (creamy green chile chicken enchiladas) was also missing sauce on top so we asked her if she could please bring us some extra sauce- it took her 10 minutes to do so and the food was pretty cold by that point. We sat by the windows and there were 2 flies buzzing around as we ate. Beyond gross. Next time, we'll be sure to go to La Hacienda Ranch down the street- they never disappoint. My views of this place are full of nostalgia, but I think the food still holds up to scrutiny. The Tex-Mex leans further to the Tex side, but that's good from time to time. I usually order the boom-boon enchiladas, the chuychanga, or the rellenos enchilada combo. I am never left disappointed by any of these items and the creamy jalapeno sauce they give you with your chips is exceptional. The atmosphere is very busy, but I can't help find it charming and wonder which themed room I will be led to each time I dine. The service is great too, courtesy of my server Charlie. I normally wouldn't visit a restaurant with a 3 star Yelp review average. I the case of Chuys Frisco,I'm making an exception. It payed off handsomely for me and Chuys Frisco resulting in a 5 Star Review! After discovering the original Chuys location in Austin 30 + years ago,I became a devoted fan. Every trip to Austin was augmented with a Chuys visit. Along about 1990ish they started expanding and a location near downtown Dallas was a highly anticipated opening. Almost as good as the original. They maintained authenticity for many years expanding even into other states. Then,as often happens,the nose dive began. As a result I quit eating at Chuy's,even when visiting Austin. Not the same. Then,a few months ago enter Darden Restaurant Group. They bought Chuy's lock stock and barrel folding it into their operations which includes one of my faves, Longhorn Steakhouse. I was anxious to try Chuy's again and see if the Upward recovery had begun. I overlooked the Plano location having never liked it that much in favor of the newer Frisco location. Due to my 18/6 eating schedule we went for a early dinner. Bottom line is,Yes! Atmosphere,food, service,prices combine to provide a great Tex-Mex experience. I highly recommend you.... Go! Be sure to join the list online before arrival! This was our first time to this location and it was a 20-30 minute wait for a party of 2 and the bar seating was full. Not unexpected for a Friday night. The hostess was a bit hard to understand but was pleasant. Our server was attentive although she did refill one of the drinks with the wrong beverage. Still wondering why there are no good taco Tuesday deals around here. Chuys included. But we came anyway. If you're into martinis , the New Mexico Martini is so good! It's worth coming back just for that. The Paloma was just meh. Chips were solid, the salsa not so much. Ask for jalapeño ranch dressing and mix that with the salsa and it's better. I had the taco salad with fajita meat, huge portion and I could only finish half of it. The place feels like it used to be something special but now it's looks a little worn out. We were here during Christmas week. Walked in and they had a 15 min wait. We stayed in the waiting area, which had a good decor. Once we got seated, we got the chips and salsa. jalapeno cream was amazing. Ordered Chicken Enchiladas with Boom Boom Sauce, Chuychanga with Boom Boom and no meat. Kids ordered Cheese quesadilla and enchilda. Chicken enchilda was amazing with Boom boom sauce, chuychanga was ok, wife said she wouldn't order again. Used to be our favorite weekly stop for date night, but is quickly becoming...meh. Not sure if they've had new ownership or just management, but there have been a TON of staffing changes and service is becoming nonexistent. The managers onsite literally do nothing...rarely check-in on patrons and sure don't pick up the slack to make sure drinks are delivered and chip baskets are full. It hasn't seemed to matter what day we come - it's much of the same issues. To Go is an absolute joke, but hey at least the foods good, right? Here's to hoping more staff like Taylor and Drew get hired/trained soon. It's a nightmare read more

I had their jalapeño cream sauce at an event before and I really wanted to have it again. So I ordered it and yes, tasted just as good as I remembered. However, I decided to order a quesadilla ($12 for just cheese) and I was highly disappointed. There was hardly any cheese. I mean it looked like they took a piece of sliced cheese from the grocery store for each one and called it good. I couldn't even taste any cheese. I could mainly just taste the tortilla. Visited Chuy's on Cinco de Mayo. I ordered the steak burrito and my fiancée ordered the chicken flautas. There seemed to be no problem with the food, until a few hours later. About 5 hours later, we both started feeling bad, but just brushed it off. Then, around 2 AM, I began throwing up and did so every other hour until 6 AM. My fiancée did the same, but hers didn't start until after mine (luckily). The only item we shared was the chips and salsa, which looking back, the salsa did have a bit of tangy taste and a bit of a white gleam, which is what we believe caused our food poisoning. read more

Someone ran us chips and salsa after sitting at the table about 8 minutes and had consumed that before drinks hit the table. When our server finally had a second to introduce themselves we ordered queso and our main course (having already finished the chips). No refill on chips, and queso and main courses all arrived at the same time (refill on chips came when we got the check, after having asked a food runner to refill them). Hosts continued to seat this waitress while she was obviously in the weeds.... Poor girl couldn't keep up. Asked to take the queso to go and did not receive Togo bag for our chips and dips, went to the host stand with 4 hosts and asked for a largo Togo bag, they pointed at the bar and said I could get them over there.... First about our server, Katie. I asked her what was in the boom boom sauce and she said it was vegetarian. I asked how she knew I was a vegetarian and she responded if you are asking what it's made of, there's a good chance you are vegetarian. A tell I wasn't aware of. The nachos are thin, crispy, not oily, and constantly refilled. They are flavorful and provided with, at your request, multiple sauces besides salsa. My cocktail, Paloma, was good. We got Boom Boom enchiladas (chicken and vegetarian. It was rich in flavors and amazingly delicious. My friend ordered fajita and it was brought sizzling to the table. Stopped by this place close to my in-laws in Frisco. They must love dogs as there's a ton of photos of dogs and owners. We love our boxer the same way!!! We started out with the queso and added some ground beef, guacamole and pico de gallo to it. Was pretty good, cheesy and lots of meat. It's so easy to put anything together and call it queso but this place did pretty good. My wife ordered two enchiladas that you can choose with either beef or chicken and then pick a couple (out of several) of their signature sauces. My wife went with tomatillo and green hatch chile. Both were pretty good and came with plentiful helpings of rice and beans and lots of the sauces. I ordered the steak burrito which was also topped with he hatch green chile sauce. Really simple meal but done well and it's a nice comfort food to eat. Service was pretty quick and efficient and our server was very pleasant. The only decent food here are the free chips and dips... definitely not a place to get authentic Mexican food. Most items are frozen prior to serving. I came here last night with five other ladies. The food was good, but the service could've been better. Our waitress was nice, but was busy with other tables in other areas of the restaurant. She would come by our table and people would need things and she'd be off before they could get the chance to ask for what they needed. We were given silverware by the staff upon being seated, but then weren't given napkins or appetizer plates until we asked for these. It was kind of strange, but the staff was clearly working hard. I just think they were all a bit stretched and distracted. Aside from that, the food was great last night, as was my strawberry margarita. A friend and I both ordered the combo fajitas and she commented that I had more chicken than she had, and she had more steak than I received. That was odd, but it would've been nice to have had it even and fair on meat for each of us. Although we were there on a Wednesday night, we did the waitlist through the Chuy's website. I highly suggest doing this because people were told that there was a 30 minute wait to be seated. I love the sauce on the enchiladas, I did notice that there wasn't a ton of chicken in them though. If I had a positive critique it would be to add more. Was served with refried beans which were piping hot and Mexican rice. The decor of Chuy's is fun and bold, lots of brash trailer park treasures such as hub caps on the ceiling, dog art and wood swimming fish throughout. I'm so frustrated right now because my experience with Uber Eats and Chewy's on Preston Road was honestly the worst I've ever had with a restaurant. I realized my address was wrong on the order, so I sent my friend Sean all the way from South Dallas to pick it up. I called Chewy's first to fix it, but they said they couldn't do anything-couldn't cancel, change the address, or switch to pickup-and told me to contact Uber. I tried reaching Uber, but the options weren't helpful, and when I finally got the driver, they asked me to give them the codes to complete the order so they wouldn't get a bad review. I did that, and I spoke to two people at Chewy's to hold the order for Sean. But when he got there, they gave him nothing but resistance. Even after showing them the receipt and a screenshot of the order, they still refused to hand over the food. The kitchen manager Bruce was a complete prick, how can someone get in trouble when a receipt was shown the order was completed via uber eats and the $140+ order was payed in full even though the food was ready and there were 2 employees there to verify that they said they would hold the order. If they'd just given Sean the order, this whole mess could've been avoided. Never again, Chewy's. read more
