We started out with queso, they have white and yellow to choose from. They also give you fresh salsas (the green was my fave) and fresh chips. They have a huge lunch menu with many options. We each got an order of the steak fajitas. They came out sizzling and hot and they were delicious! The steak was tender and smoky and it came with guac, sour cream, pico, cheddar, rice, beans, and tortillas! For $14.99 it's also a great price. Usually my go-to for Tex Mex close by the house but recent experience was no bueno. The dish I always order came out a little off (fried onions were obviously old) so I attempted to send it back. The older male manager who generally seems to run a tight ship would literally not come to my table. After finally getting his attention, he tried to have the conversation with me from 3 tables over and ultimately just walked away and sent the waitress back. Pretty mediocre place overall. Wanted to like it but this just wasn't it for me. The chips were quite bland. Just lacking flavor and salt. Ordered the large guacamole which is just four scoops of guacamole. It didn't taste like it was made right there. It was really lacking any kind of seasoning too. Just very bland. I ordered the chicken mole. The chicken itself was actually too salty. The mole sauce didn't really taste much like mole to me but it wasn't actually bad. The enchiladas were ok. I did like the steak in the fajitas as far as how it was flavored but it was also a little tough. I won't be going back. Food and service was great. You get red and green salad and black bean dip complementary. Nice strong frozen strawberry margarita for happy hour. We eat here at least twice a month. The entrees are always good, but unlike many Mexican restaurants, my plate is always cold. The refried beans and rice are room temperature at best. I've NEVER had warm, much less hot beans or rice. It would be nice to enjoy hot food for a change. read more

The salsa her is good and so is the bean dip....margaritas are decent. We have never had a bad meal here and service is always excellent. This location on Main Street in Frisco is always busy! These people are chip nazis. We paid $10.81 for a bowl of white queso to go AND had to pay almost $5 for a large bag of chips. The bowl of white queso didn't come with any chips and when we asked a manager if queso comes with chips and he said yes, we asked why ours didn't and we had to pay. He changed his tune and said you have to pay for extra chips. We opened our bag and showed him the only thing we got was a bowl of queso and the $5 large bag of chips, it should have come with an additional bag of chips with the queso order. He demanded to see our receipt and just walked off. I saw him argue with the waiter who charged us the $5 for the chips, grab a smaller bag of chips, and then handed it to us. Chips are literally FREE and UNLIMITED if you dine in. Why the hell are they so stingy on to go orders!? We used to eat here a lot, but their beef enchiladas have gotten unbearably salty so we stopped. The only thing we get here now is the white queso, but damn are they rude and stingy. read more

Good visit to Salsa on Sunday night. We got there a little after 8, and unlike our previous visit on a busy Friday night, we were seated immediately. My wife and I both had the Pollo con Hongos, which is a grilled chicken breast covered in grilled vegetables. Served on a hot skillet, it's kind of like chicken fajitas, only the breast isn't cut up, and the veggies are slightly different. The chicken was tender and juicy, and it had great taste. The charro beans were good, and I again substituted grilled veggies, which are yummy, for the standard rice. My chicken could've been a bit bigger, but by the end of the meal, I was quite satisfied with what I had. My daughter had the combo fajitas, and she thought they were better than last time. Service was consistent, yet not overly friendly. I didn't penalize our waitress; perhaps she was just having a bad day...she wasn't rude or inattentive, just real curt with her responses and quick to move on. The service is spotty at best (tonight (7.8.23) we walked out after not being served upon being seated after 10 minutes). Place is pretty clean and easily accessible to get to. When that happens I get nervous because places like that try to make a lot but not very good. I was wrong!!! We shared apps and one steak fajita entree. Also had margaritas. Everything was really good and cooked correctly. I shared the steak quesadilla. I asked for light cheese and it was perfect. I could taste all components and the tortilla was so good. Sometimes it can be really dry or greasy. This has the right amount of everything so it was toasty and firm. Not dry or soggy. I had the Don Julio skinny margarita. It was the right amount of tart and not overly sweet. Got 2 and definitely did the trick. Service was awesome. Our waitress was so sweet and cracking us up. I think her name was Hailee. So good. I always end up bring some home as leftovers. Kids always order fajita nachos. This place is always packed around 5-7. So come early if you can. They just opened a new larger patio, so that may help during the cooler evenings. The service staff has been there for a long time. So management must be good.
