Fajita Dinner Combo - chicken & pork with a side of rice & refried beans; watermelon Mojito
    Crystal M.

It was very crowded on a busy Friday evening thus when I arrived they said the wait for 4 would be 50-55 minutes. Luckily my friend had already gotten on the list, so I ended up waiting only about 10-15 minutes. The fajita chicken was very good. I'd return to try a chimichanga next. However, I wasn't a fan of the fajita pork.

A friend recommended this place and we had an appointment nearby, so we stopped for lunch. The covered outdoor patio is great and we got seated quickly. We started out with queso, they have white and yellow to choose from. They also give you fresh salsas (the green was my fave) and fresh chips. They have a huge lunch menu with many options. We each got an order of the steak fajitas. They came out sizzling and hot and they were delicious! The steak was tender and smoky and it came with guac, sour cream, pico, cheddar, rice, beans, and tortillas! For $14.99 it's also a great price. This will definitely be on our Tex Mex list now!

This is our favorite tex Mex spot in Frisco! Great service every time, great food & great options! We love their happy hour too. The salsa mex platter, fajitas & brisket tacos are some of our favorites.

We share the Enchilada Verdes. Sorry, it is so good we forgot to take a picture before we started eating. Oops.

Food is always fresh and service was great. Chips brought to the table immediately with two types of salsa and some beans. I had the Enchilada Verdes...mmmmmm.

    Large guacamole, clearly scooped

Pretty mediocre place overall. Wanted to like it but this just wasn't it for me. The chips were quite bland. Just lacking flavor and salt. Ordered the large guacamole which is just four scoops of guacamole. It didn't taste like it was made right there. It was really lacking any kind of seasoning too. Just very bland. I ordered the chicken mole. The chicken itself was actually too salty. The mole sauce didn't really taste much like mole to me but it wasn't actually bad. The enchiladas were ok. I did like the steak in the fajitas as far as how it was flavored but it was also a little tough. I won't be going back. There are several other interesting Mexican places to try in the area

Carne Asada, grilled vegetables and charro beans

Food and service was great. You get red and green salad and black bean dip complementary. Nice strong frozen strawberry margarita for happy hour. My husband got the chimichanga that was nice and cheesy and crispy, not soggy the entire time we sat there and i got the carbs asada and added veggies and charro beans. So yummy.

The Carmen lunch special. I dug in before I remembered to take a pic.

My favorite Tex-mex spot in the area. The food is always delicious and consistent. The drinks are equally good. The prices are affordable and they have great happy hour specials. I've never had bad service here. My daughter is learning Spanish and the staff is always happy to come by and help her practice. They make every customer feel like family.

A plate of onions and 4 slices of meat. Buyer beware.

Great place for homestyle Tex mex if that's a thing. It's not fancy, but it's good cheap and fast. That's the magic combination.

We tried a variety of things including two types of oysters, but I have to say this is my favorite fish and chips in the area. For the cost you get SO much (3 large pieces) of fish, fries and a few hush puppies. And it was nice and fluffy, so so good. Definitely my new favorite go-to place in Frisco for seafood. I feel this place doesn't get enough love! Look forward to going back!

We started with half a dozen raw oysters and they were fresh and delicious! We also ordered a dozen grilled oysters. They were okay, but nothing spectacular and probably not something we would order again. Hubby ordered the fish special that was on the board that day. I can't remember exactly which fish it was, but he said it was just okay. I ordered the snow crab with Cajun butter and unfortunately this was the biggest disappointment. The crab meat was extremely mushy and the texture was just not good at all. I tried several different legs from the cluster just to make sure it wasn't only one bad piece, but they were all the same, so I couldn't finish it. The corn that came with it also tasted old and had a strange sour taste, so I didn't eat that either. The Dragon Fruit Pineapple Mojito, however, was DELICIOUS! Definitely one of the highlights of the meal and I would absolutely order that again. One thing that was a little strange was the timing. Considering how slow it was when we were there, the food seemed to take a little longer than expected to come out, and my drinks took even longer. Overall, it was a mixed experience for us. The raw oysters and mojito were great, the grilled oysters and fish special were just okay, and unfortunately the snow crab entrée was a definite miss. I'm willing to give Anaya's another try and order something completely different if we happen to be in the area, but based on this visit, I wouldn't make a special trip back just to eat here.

She was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which set the tone for the evening. Within a minute of sitting down, our server greeted us and brought water. We started with the fried okra, and our server suggested ordering it extra crispy--definitely the right call. It came out quickly and was excellent. My wife ordered the Shrimp and Fries. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The fries were good as well, although they missed the Cajun seasoning--a small miss in an otherwise very good meal. I had the Red Beans and Rice with Blackened Catfish, and it was excellent. The catfish was perfectly cooked, and the red beans had that deep, rich flavor you expect from good Cajun food. We also shared a cup of gumbo, which was very good. It may have been just a little salty for my taste, but that can come with the territory with Cajun food. Our son ordered the Slap YO' Mama Cajun Pasta and absolutely loved it. It had a ton of chicken, great flavor, and the portion was easily enough for two meals. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and seemed genuinely happy to have us there. The food and service were both top-notch. Our only other minor complaint is more personal preference than anything else--the metal chairs look cool and fit the restaurant, but they aren't particularly comfortable. It was honestly a little surprising and disappointing to see the restaurant not busier on a Saturday evening because the quality of the food and service deserves a crowd. We had a great experience and will definitely be back.
