The food here is good. Nothing amazing. I hadn't had a chimichanga in a very long time and was hungry for one. At least their menu doesn't lie - it says "lightly fried". But it really was more like a burrito. If you're craving the fried taste of a chimichanga, this is not the place for that. I was hoping this place would be great but it turned out to be fine. The table side guacamole was incredible. I ordered the two burritos and the burritos were a small flour taco wrapped around about 3 pieces of meat. Period. The rest of the plate was rice and beans. The prices were high compared to what you got. And the margarita was not very good. We tried two different flavors and both tasted more like chemicals than fresh. Service is ALWAYS excellent. Portion sizes are incredible. In a world full of everyone charging up in their prices Anamia's has maintained both their costs and their size portions. Would love for them to consider offering 'real' Mexican options (I.e. Guisado de puerco) but their menu is already quit extensive. read more

This was our first time trying this location and we were very happy! Appetizer: we got the cup of queso. The queso was really good and the chips were not super thin which I liked! My husband got got the chicken quesadillas and I got the #8 with chili con carne, molcajete sauce on the side so I could try them both. I loved my meal!! It was so good and the chicken was fresh. My only complaint was the house marg. It for sure comes out of a machine in the back because it was brought out super quick. It also tasted like straight lime/sugar vs a marg. The service was 10/10! OK first things first, this place is super cute. I live not far from here and have been watching it being built and was super excited about another TexMex option in the area. We needed it!!! I stopped by yesterday for lunch and sat out on the patio. It wasn't too hot out and really pleasant. Considering they just opened, I certainly gave them a little more grace than I normally would at a restaurant. It did take a little while for a server to come over, but once he did, he was pretty attentive. The chips and salsa were tasty. Just love the large Frida wall right as you walk in. There are tasteful touches everywhere you look, even down to the bathroom. Very elegantly done with nice pops of color throughout. There is a colorful and spacious bar that looks out onto the patio. Ample sitting on the patio and inside. I ordered the number 10 which was a chicken enchilada and a taco served with a really delicious slaw, black beans, and rice. Black beans and rice were a tad bland. I will certainly be back! Give them a try!! read more

We had out of town guests and we took them to Anamia's last night. We sat in the patio where we shared our food with the flies. Not a good night for the patio as it was hot. My cheese and beef enchiladas were very greasy. I couldn't eat those. The beef taco was okay. Chips were kinda stale but the hot sauce was pretty good. Guacamole was also good. It was busy and the service was so so. But our server was nice. Probably will not be returning here unless others in the group want to go here. If they were $4 id be ok with it but at $9 a drink I would expect the bartender to make it when i order it not at 10 am in a slurpee machine. Appetizer - Chicken Flauta, flautas are supposed to come made with flour tortillas, they arrived made of corn and honestly, simply had the taste of grease. Chicken and Beef Combo Fajitas - beef was tough and over cooked, chicken was good, beans and rice need more salt, both extremely bland. Desert - Sopapia, best part of the meal. The service was good and the food came in a timely manner which saved it. We'll probably go back and try a few other items but until then theres a-lot of other choices around town. To start off, one of the hostesses used a very impatient/rude tone of voice even though we were the only ones waiting in line to put our name down. It was packed at 6:30pm and the wait was gonna be awhile so we ended up just grabbing a seat for 2 at the bar. It took a while for us to get any service because they were so busy. Noticed one of the workers brought out fresh chips and used his bare hands to scoop them into the container for easy access. Doesn't seem the most sanitary. Ordered the Mexican Dinner which came with a cheese enchilada, pork tamales, refried beans, rice, and hard shell beef taco. I was most looking forward to the tamales but it turned out dry and not very flavorful. Overall, just very underwhelmed with the food and service. The aesthetics are good though. read more

We ate at the Prosper location last night. Our server was excellent and the drinks from the bar were well done. The food was a different matter. We had the Poblano Ala Parilla, one with chicken/one with brisket. Both dishes were bland. Neither meat had any noticeable seasoning. The red sauce covering the poblano tasted like a cross between ketchup and tomato soup out of a can. The Kellie's queso was decent but the chips and salsas tasted like they were not made fresh at the restaurant. The Tex-Mex space in North Texas is becoming very competitive. If what we experienced last night is standard for Anamia's, I don't see them lasting long. read more

I have no problem with the customer service or the atmosphere inside the place. My only concern is that every time I stop by and eat any kind of food, my stomach feels horrible afterward, bloated and full of gas. This doesn't happen when I eat at other Tex-Mex restaurants. Last night was our first visit to this location. It was an unusually pleasant evening for July in North Texas, so we sat out on the patio. The service was pretty good. Our server had a heavy accent and seemed to be in a hurry, so he wasn't pleased when we had to ask him to repeat himself. The chips and salsa arrived shortly after being seated. The salsa is tomato forward in flavor. I struggled to find any other flavor. Our friends had warned us about the house marg on the rocks...but my stubborn foodie husband had to try it. He truly doesn't like frozen drinks. Anyway, it was like drinking straight mixer. I ordered the mango frozen marg. It was better than expected. I could actually taste the mango flavor and the tequila. My hubby ordered a frozen house for his second round and it wasn't much better than the one on the rocks. On to food...he had the fish tacos and said the were good but would have preferred corn tortillas to the flour. I had the fajita salad with chicken. It was ok. Plenty of salad greens, but only 2 thins slices of avocado and the "grilled" fajita chicken was thin and very dry. Just had our first experience at the new Anamia's on Preston in Prosper, TX. It was incredible we had the best waiter, Grant. Since there were so many great options, I asked him favorite "go to entree". Ohhhh my! He suggested the white queso, which was delicious and the Pollo con Hongos, it was incredible and a sharable size. My hubs had the fish tacos, they were just okay.
