The food and service here are consistently good, the restaurant interior is clean and comfortable but the patio is where it's at. The vibe is what you'd expect in a typical Tex Mex restaurant, but the decor and cleanliness was on the low average side. The lighting was weird, the floor was dirty, and it just seems like they have high traffic and don't refresh/clean things very well in there. Not trying to be nit-picky, but there's no way I would dine-in here. Our food order was wrong and service was very slow. Salsa was delicious! As soon as you sit down they give you chips, a bean dip, and two types of salsa which are all incredibly delicious. They keep em coming too!! I ate so much chips and salsa that I nearly ruined my appetite for my main meal. It was a casual spot and it gave me bar and grill vibes. Our server was good and helped us make decisions about what to eat. I loved the salsa nachos! The menu isn't accurate. Always double check & assume people don't follow their menu. I guess always assume they don't know either what goes inside, or what the menu lists. Always ask. If you have a medical issue causing a dietary restriction, assume the menu isn't factual. My aunt proudly posted to Facebook to brag about her delicious food on her first visit here where is suggested they go. Today she's in pain & will end up with a costly ER visit to be on steroids, possibly 23hr observation if the intestines inflame & twist, because people with crohns & GI issues obviously know they cannot eat certain foods. As a Hispanic I enjoy eating here. Yes, it's not authentic but it's not bad tasting. I enjoy their freshly made chips with salsas and bean dip. My daughter likes to come here after her dance class which is walking distance. I'm only giving it 3 stars because we dined in the patio and there were a TON of flies. Like I'm talking about not being able to eat comfortably because we had at least 2-3 flies at a time and we couldn't swap them fast enough. The waitress should have asked us if we wanted to go inside bc she saw us with a ton of flies trying to get to our plates. Avoid the patio even though it looks inviting. Large restaurant with a nice sized patio. It is enclosed in a twnt like structure so you can sit outside even in the winter. There is a nice variety of foods pn the menu. The service is attentive and they cone check on you regularly. I had the brusket tacos and they wete stuffed with brisket. I had to take two of the three home. Tasty rice and charro beans. My friend and I always come here to have a couple of drinks and catch up. Recently we have been getting the same server, Catalina. It has always been super good service and positive energy but every time we get Catalina it is rushed, slow service and just a negative experience every time she comes around to the table. My friend and I had our drinks more than halfway full twice and she brought us our check without asking us twice or even asking how we were doing beforehand. The vibes just feel off, it comes off as very rude service along with the tone, we feel super rushed when it's not even busy and it just takes away from the experience of eating at salsas. The both of us are servers as well so we know it's hard but it doesn't take much to smile at a table and give it your best especially if it's slow service or maybe just a slow day overall. Been a long time customer, but this was the last time we get food from here. Service has continued to decline for the last year. If the food comes out the way it's supposed to, it's generally good. Problem is, they can't get the orders right anymore and the manager and staff couldn't care less. Ordered take out but the fish tacos were literally just flavorless fish in a tortilla despite the menu saying it was cooked with lemon butter and garlic served with cilantro and pickled slaw. Avocado that was included was brown. Husband called to let them know and was hung up on, twice, when he asked to speak to a manager. Once he finally got the manager he just said sorry... didn't offer to fix it or give us the correct order. My husband and I stumbled upon this place on our way to see the progress on our house. The first few times we did takeout. They're pretty quick. Each time our food was ready in 20 minutes after ordering. This last time we went in and sat on the patio. They had a grassy area next to the patio where kids were running and playing. It was a great little family spot. The margaritas are great! Strong and refreshing. My favorite is the swirl and the strawberry. I normally don't like flavored margaritas but the strawberry one is very light. Their taco salad is huge. The shredded chicken is my favorite. It's got a great flavor to it. The sour cream chicken enchiladas are great too. They definitely don't skimp on the chicken! My enchiladas were stuffed full!For appetizers the loaded queso and guac are really good. Chorizo, steak, chicken, and shrimp, all grilled and served in a traditional stone bowl and topped with queso fresco, jalapeño, and grilled cactus. Served with guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, rice, and charro beans. Can't wait to visit again and order the same thing for sure! They have a variety of cocktails and beers. I tried a spicy tamarindo margarita which was very good. The service was good to very good but slow at times. My family and I split 3 entrees and had leftovers for the next day, which is a great value. They also provided me with great customer service when I ordered over the phone and picked up. I've been to the Frisco and Prosper locations, and I'm sure that all locations embody the same principles of good food, good service, and value. Came here because I wanted to see how good Texas makes their QUESABIRRIA TACOS. And boy oh boy do they make a girl want to move down south! These were definitely one of the best quesabirria tacos I've ever had! The cheese was nice a toasty on the tortilla which gave it that delicious crunch and flavor. The Jalisco-style angus beef was packed with flavor and not dry at all which made the experience even more enjoyable. The consome birria broth was delicious and not watered down like most broths I've had in the past. The only downfall was that I ordered 2 orders of quesabirria tacos and they only gave me 1/3 of a little container of the consome for dipping. The other part of that saddness was that they didn't fully put the lid on so it leaked all the way to the car and throughout the house until we started taking everything out of the bag. It was really sad for my husband to not have the full experience and it was really sad I had to ration the consome to have enough for each bite. The skinny margaritas were definitely a delight to have while waiting for our to go order. And the gave us chips and 3 different dipping options. The black beans were definitely different for me but I can understand why my 1 year old loved it. Will definitely come here again before my child's bedtime so we can have the full experience of right out of the kitchen onto a plate. Great food and service overall, but they can get busy in the afternoons, especially on the weekends. Their managers are very active and this helps with a smooth operation.
