Hey I tried it so you don't have to. All the pics on Yelp make it seem like a bright vibrant place. It wasn't... I was the only person there. I thought there was another table but it was the manager who did nothing the whole time I was there. The Yelp pics make the food look fresh, not so much... also, all the menu prices are outdated as is their website. I wanted a taco salad which used to be $11.99 at lunch. It is no longer on the lunch menu and is $14.99. The beans were warm, and they put wet shredded lettuce on top of that and then covered it with hot raw chewy steak. The steak was sliced but they must have used the same dull knife I had on the table since none of the slices were separate Very few of the staff understand English so concepts like unsweetened tea and Sweet N Low will be difficult to convey I will say my server was very friendly if a bit unattentive-he sat with the manager most of the time. One downside is there's no real waiting area, and the host system uses a paper list. We ended up being forgotten briefly and watched a couple of parties who arrived after us get seated first. The margaritas were very good and definitely a highlight. Chips were solid, but the salsa tasted pretty generic and didn't have that fresh, homemade flavor. For the food, everything was good but not great. The style leans toward Americanized Mexican cuisine and could use a bit more spice and depth of flavor. The mole enchiladas were decent but mild, and the arrachera was well prepared and cooked properly but also a little lacking in seasoning. The rice and beans were quite good, and the dishes were nicely plated. Service overall was fine once seated, and prices felt reasonable for a mid-scale restaurant in the area. Really delicious food! That's the important part ... I was craving Mexican food and hubby NEVER turns down the chance for Mexican food, so when I suggested Mi Chante he was all in. A new location (Providence Village) just recently opened right down the street from our house and I've been excited to try it. We were near the original location (Prosper) on this occasion so that's the location we ended up trying first. Boy oh boy I really hope the Providence Village location is as great as the Prosper location. All staff we interacted with were super nice. The manager (?) even stopped by our table to check that everything was going well. This used to be a common thing restaurants did many years ago and was a pleasant change of pace/return to good customer service practices. We were obsessed with the food here!! Everything we had was delicious. Our server was super attentive too... he was great about modifying dishes and accommodating special requests from our picky children. The queso is excellent!! And the price point is really good too. My favorite dish was the pork tacos my husband had but I really did enjoy everything. The restaurant is small but well decorated inside. A weekly staple in our house! It so close which makes it convenient. We do try to get there by 5-5;15 because it does get crowded. My wish was that they had more space. And in the winter if you are sat by the door, every time it opens you are getting hit with the air. But I've never had a bad meal there. And the drinks are great too. Highly recommend. read more

We love Mi Chante! It's an excellent neighborhood restaurant with delicious food and menu items to choose from. The margaritas are also next level I love the Birria tacos and poblano cream soup but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. However this place is pretty good! Nice atmosphere and very clean. They also have a nice bar area. Went for lunch, had the taco and enchilada lunch special. They get extra points on how well they plate their food!!! Taco was a little bland but I would say better than many tacos I have had. The enchilada was good, and the rice was also great. The 3 salsa options (actually and beans) you get with the chips is nice, however the bowls look nice but are really small. I am going to come back for dinner soon and try a few signature items. I say most of our food because our server thought our friends were splitting a meal...when our friend said "she and I will have...". Instead of double checking, the server assumed the split...it was awkward when 3/4 of us had food. When she left after 3 plates were served...we thought she'd be back with the 4th...nope. The nice thing about this place was the look and the waitress was very nice. Unfortunately if your ever had Mexican food before you won't like this place. Didn't taste like authentic Mexican. Their food was super bland like didn't even taste like it had salt. The salsa for the chips and the salsa in the chilaquiles tasted like from the can, maybe it wasn't but they tasted like it. The sopes were also bland. We did also get a customized burrito for the baby and that was the better tasting meal. They did have virgin mango and strawberry frozen margaritas that was good. What a treat. This is a new restaurant in our area & we were excited to try it out. The queso was on point, rich & creamy with a touch of jalapeño. The chips came with 3 dips. I had fish tacos, fried of course, and Hubs had chicken tacos. They were delicious. We finished the meal with churros, fried to perfection & filled with caramel. Our second time here, this time right around 4:30 to beat the rush (even on a weekday). Food and service get 5 stars. Cocktails as well, and a few are really really good. Only bad remark is booth tables. They are just too tight for a larger person. I'm 6'3" and 250 and the table presses up against me the entire time. Table next to us had a woman who heard me laughing about it, and she too said there wasn't enough room to sit comfortably. Since the place is so small it's obvious they squeezed as many tables in as they could. And looking around, there's not a lot of tables vs booths. So for a family of 4 it's going to take waiting for a table.....maybe 20-40 minutes. read more

I truly don't understand the positive reviews for this place. The last time we were here everything was underwhelming. The service was mostly non-existent, and we were given the wrong drinks twice. They're newly opened in Prosper and the food I had was sooo much better than Salsa down the road. I had the chicken flautas which were full of juicy shreds of chicken with nice topping of sauce and garnish. The free salsas they served were three different flavors, all good. We've driven by here many times and finally decided to try it tonight. Pros: unique menu options, very attentive front of house staff (bartenders/servers), great flavors. Cons: getting our food took a longgg time; portions for sides was small (specifically the mash potatoes); my parents have dietary restrictions so they asked for some grilled steak and chicken with a side of grilled veggies - incredibly small portion came out and each meat cost them $10 plus $4 for each each side of veggies (which was more reasonable). Overall - Their fish and shrimp is excellent, the mash potatoes are delicious (but you barely get any), and the calamari is top tier in tenderness and flavor. Pickled onions are a recommended addition if your dish doesn't have them. Side note, when our family of 7 first arrived they tried to sit us at a too small table and said two of us could wait....odd. read more
