Mexican Apple Pie**

Food was really good, service is always amazing at this location as well. The dessert was so good.

I pass this restaurant at least once a week and I wanted to try it out. Today was cinco de Mayo. So I had the perfect excuse. Margaritas were awesome. I sat at the bar and very tentative bartenders. Tried a new items and was very pleased. Very clean restaurant and nicely decorated.

Xmas burrito

The service was amazing, drinks reasonable, the chips and salsa to die for. But that's where it ends, the Xmas burrito was quite large yet tasteless. The sauces on top tasted like they weren't homemade, out of the can tasting. Go for cocktails and chips, skip dinner.

Old Fashion (wrong type of ice)

This is a strict review of the bar, not the food - the restaurant part is separate. When I go to the bar of a decent to upscale establishment- I expect the drinks to coincide (made properly). I mean, cocktails are all about the recipe and that includes presentation and using the right garnishes. In this case, it is the Old Fashion, a classic, and it has to be made to spec :-). It is a simple drink but has to be made as intended, what has made it an iconic drink. As you can see in the picture, I had to remove most of the ice cubes because it will water down the drink. An Old Fashion requires a large chunk of ice, usually spherical or cubed. This definitely is part of the presentation but it serves a practical purpose as well - it melts slowly and chills the drink (without over diluting it). So, when prepared properly, one can enjoy the sips...taste the bourbon, bitters, touch of sweetness and if garnished properly, enjoy a hint of lemon or orange. Now the service was great. The bartender was attentive and prompt. I did ask why they didn't serve it properly (with a large , single ice cubes/ball) and they (she asked another employee) replied, that's just how they serve it. The single, large ice is reserved for their signature margarita. So if you don't care about the craft of cocktails, disregard this review. But for me, I just wanted to have a tasty drink and some guac, then order a meal to go - this won't be the spot when I'm in the mood for an Old Fashion. I'll try them again and check out that signature cocktail of theirs. Because the drink got watered down quickly, I couldn't really enjoy it. Contrary to belief, drinking isn't always about getting drunk :-)

Impossible Tacos- I asked them for crispy tacos & they obliged me. Delicious

Food is excellent. Service is excellent. Ambiance warm & relaxing, seating is comfortable. I keep going back because everything I have ordered so far has been delicious and the drinks are mixed expertly. Love the vegetarian options! Waiter was so nice and food was served in a timely manner. My favorite thing is the nachos! And the Impossible tacos! I also tried the Chile relleno with hongos and it was ! The drink of choice for me is the passion fruit pina colada. This place is one of those that will have you wishing you could eat every meal there. 5 stars aren't enough.

Carne Asada* sub rice and beans for veggies

If you're looking for a flank steak that delivers on both tenderness and depth of flavor, look no further. Te flank steak was remarkably tender, especially for a traditionally tougher portion of beef. It was cooked medium-rare and the texture was melt-in-your-mouth without being too soft, with a slight, satisfying chew. As for flavor, the steak is intensely beefy with rich. The flavor profile is complex, with a buttery undertone with a savory chimichurri sauce. Paired mine with mixed veggies instead of rice and black beans.

Veracruz enchiladas

I remember eating at Cantina Laredo in the early 90's. The waiters would write their names in crayon on the butcher paper on each table. The food was good then and the food is good now! No surprise since it's survived over 30 years in a cutthroat business and Covid ! I highly recommend the Veracruz enchiladas. This is 2 pulled chicken enchiladas with spinach, Monterey Jack and tomatillo sauce. Please bottle up that tomatillo sauce and sell it! It's has depths of flavor and a nice heat. The crispy tortillas on top add a nice crunch. Yummy delicious margaritas. Good chips and salsa. Service was exceptional. See you there!

Did I like the food, yes but oh did I love the salsa. I could eat lbs of that salsa. I am here for lunch on a Sunday. It's good music and not too busy; exactly what I needed after a morning of travel. This is a great location conveniently located next to the hotel. Also Tim, my waiter he was the best. Overall good spot

The photos make it look very lively and fun so imagine our surprise at happy hour on a Friday walking into an entirely empty restaurant! Two couples inside and a couple guys drinking on the patio. We still decided to stay because we were hungry and the place itself is super duper nice and cute! We opted to sit at the bar where we were kindly greeted and two TVs playing football with no volume (which I love)! The barstools were very comfortable as well. Ordered two of the BEST margaritas I've ever had with the gran marnier! I now want all my margs made this way. No need for a second! For food, the enchilada verde and the taco lunch plates were pretty dang good. No complaints there and the servings were reasonable and not too much from the lunch menu. No leftovers. Really enjoyed the verde. Chips and salsa were something to write home about! Amazingly toasted and crunchy, I should have asked for a bag to go with just those chips! Very good! All in all, the staff was too kind and it happened to be my friend's birthday so I "snuck away to the restroom" and told our waiter and he surprised us with a perfect tres leches slice that was absolutely delicious! For lunch and margs I spent $65 and he treated us with that dessert and I felt like that was so sweet! Thank you team at Lalo! You guys were great and I now actually like that the restaurant was slower at the time but I do hope they pick up because it was a great place for us! Enjoyed very much and if we are ever back in the area we will stop through.

Be courteous if you need to change or cancel your reservations. We were seated in one of the smaller rooms, which was great! We had good service even though they were extremely busy. We came here for our favorites that we usually order at their other location. The frozen mango margarita is thought of fondly. While it was good, it didn't taste quite as good as I remember it in the past. A very faint mango flavor, it tasted like a plain frozen margarita with orange coloring. It was disappointing since we looked forward to it for so long. The chips are always delicious. We ordered the chicken fajitas for 2 with no onions and they brought us combo chicken & steak fajitas for 2. We just ate it and took home the leftovers. They brought us a container to pack up and processed our tab quickly. Overall, a good visit with a couple of small opportunities for improvement. There are not enough parking spaces in their parking lot! We had to park next door by Academy. We parked far from the store as to not take away parking from Academy shoppers.

This is one of those restaurants that gets both the food and the atmosphere right, which is harder to find than it should be. We went with the Taco Bar Tuesday special, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you want from a build-your-own taco experience. The chicken and beef were well-seasoned, juicy, and generous in portion size, and the fresh tortillas they make for you are a huge standout -- warm, soft, and clearly made with care. Sadly, we forgot to take the remaining chicken, beef, and fresh tortillas with us -- not because the food wasn't great, but because life with two kids under two is pure chaos. Honestly, that one's on us. Beyond the food, the vibe here is a big reason we keep coming back. The restaurant has tons of character, from the massive bar to the spacious patio. The flame lanterns out front are such a cool touch and really set the tone before you even walk in. It feels lively, fun, and welcoming without being overwhelming. Uncle Julio's is one of those places that works whether you're out for a casual night, a family meal, or just want good food in a great setting. The food was excellent, and that's the reason I'm giving more than one star. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. Our waitress was inattentive throughout the meal. After our appetizers, she never cleared the table to make room for our main course. Other servers ended up bringing both our appetizers and our entrées because she was nowhere to be found. Eventually, the manager noticed our table was still cluttered and came over to clear it himself. I even had to ask him to find our waitress so we could get the check. The final frustration came with my child's meal. I ordered a kids' Coke, and the waitress told me it came in a can, so I said that was fine. When the bill arrived, I noticed I had been charged extra for the drink. When I questioned it, she explained that only fountain drinks are included with the kids' meal--not canned drinks. That information should have been explained when I placed the order so I could have made an informed choice. Instead, all I received was a quick "Oh, sorry." The food was truly delicious, but the poor service put a damper on what was supposed to be a special birthday celebration.
