I received excellent 5-star service here last night thanks to the manager, Capriani (sorry for spelling your name wrong). She's the night manager on duty Friday and Saturday nights. My wife and I came here around 1015 and ordered a couple of Democrat tacos and a Baha shrimp, chips and queso, a frozen margarita, and a fountain drink. The food took about 5 minutes to be served to us at our table. Unfortunately, the meat in the Democrat wasn't hot, and it was barely warm, and the queso was also barely warm. I tracked down the night manager and let her know about this. She promptly corrected this issue by bringing us new Democrat tacos that were hot this time and a new upgraded order of chips and queso (we had a half order before). She also gave us a free taco card for the inconvenience and apologized and thanked us for our business. It was good to feel that my business was appreciated especially since I've been coming to Torchy's Tacos since their early days in Austin, TX. read more

If I ever got the Death Row sentence, I would specifically go to this Torchy's Tacos. Man, my go-to: two Trailer Parks, Mexican Coca Cola, Queso and Chips, and Churros. Tacos are delicious and good size. 2 tacos here are equivalent to 3 at other places. People working there are friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that the AC was way colder than it should've been. We understand that they were short staffed and we had lots of patience but they were out of a lot of things we ordered. We weren't told until after we already paid. We agreed with the substitutions. We ordered chips and salsa and we didn't receive it we let them know they came out with just the salsa saying they were out of chips they should've just refunded it instead they tried to just not put it and think we wouldn't notice. The food was also cold for the most part. The cook was notified and no refund was given all we got was cards for a free taco however we won't be back because the 3 of us that ate there now have an upset stomach. Ordered Dinner from here since I was told they have delicious tacos and other items!! My daughter and I ordered the half portions of the Salsa and Chips and Guacamole and chips and we each got two Democrat Tacos and a side of rice and beans. We also ordered the Street Corn. All food was delicious and super tasty! My only wish is they would have more than one taco for each item since it is a little pricey and you only get one taco. The food is great, there has never an issue with that, BUT I would like to complain about timing. We order our two tacos and some hillbilly queso. You would think an appetizer would come out a few minutes prior, but nooooo it comes out with or sometimes after the entrees. They really aren't set up to be able to delay other than going back through the (sometimes) long line - that won't work. Usually the people taking the order don't understand and really wouldn't be capable of delaying orders. I might as well gripe about the lack of anyone cleaning tables too. I am so happy to be close to a Torchy's again! I've been twice already and it's delicious every time. My current fave is The Wrangler. Brisket, egg, potato, and cheese is the best combo. Breakfast or dinner, I'm getting that one. I've also tried the chicken fajita, the green chile pulled pork, and the Baja shrimp. Yelpers there's is gold standard in taco restaurants and Torchy's is it for the Texas area-- the food here is really good and great quality. I don't get anything too crazy- love love love their fajita chicken and tacos and the democrat--- heaps delicious and always satisfying. I am usually a big fan of Torchy's, but I visited this location today and had the worse experience of any Torchys I have visited. First, it was filthy. The floors, booths and tables weren't cleaned, and the only person I actually saw in the dining area was the bartender who was attending to bar patrons. We dined in, which was likely my first mistake. But as a testament to the complete filth, a roach flew onto the patron next to us, then proceeded to crawl over to our table. I've heard of Torchy's Tacos when I was in Austin and tried it when I was there. It's good to have a Torchy's up here as well. I've been to this location a few times and always got good service both to-go and dine-in. They have plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating with large screen TV's showing the sports games. You'll see all the major games playing in the bar area. It gets pretty loud so don't expect to be able to even hear yourself when carrying a conversation. Their taco of the month is The Cougar which consists of smoked beef brisket, corn relish, guajillo onion strings, BBQ sauce and chipotle sauce with cilantro. I've had the Crossroads previously which is a similar brisket based taco. Counter service has always been good at this location (you pay first and they bring out your order). My food comes out quickly and I always get asked if I want refills on my chips. read more

Today was opening day and man were we excited for this to open across the street! The line moved quickly and i waited 10-15 minutes for my Togo. We got six tacos between two of us (2 for me), the street corn, salsa, queso, and I ordered the little nookie bites but they weren't in my bag when I got home unfortunately :/ I had the trailer park I wanted it trashy but there was no queso on it. Our queso was supposed to be hillbilly but was lacking the chorizo. I was so excited to be part of the grand opening day of the new Torchy's off 380/Windsong! We made an early appearance around 5:00 and it was already pretty busy. I was looking forward to trying the new Taco of the month but they are not rolling that out at this location yet. Start with the basics and all that I'm sure. This location was a little bit smaller than some of the others that I have visited but still maximized in the space allotment. I was happy to see that they had a bar. The indoor seating area was nicely decorated and had some of the Sputnik light fixtures that the others have but slightly upgraded. Fun torchy wallpaper, cool tile on the barfront and geometric partitions separating the bench seating and the wait line. The restaurant Decor certainly has stepped up over the years!! I ordered chips and queso which came out quickly and was delicious but perhaps a tad scanty on the chips. My daughter ordered the beef taco from the kids menu and felt it was a bit spicy. I ordered the shrimp Baja and a half order of street corn. As always, delicious. The servers were friendly and followed up to make sure we had a good experience, they quickly brought out a chicken taco for my daughter instead and brought fresh chips. I typically do not leave reviews but I have never had a good experience at this location. I have had torchys many other places and it's great. I have had an icky feeling every time I have visited this location. I have given it 2 tries and will not be returning to this location again... 1st visit, store was very un clean, food took forever, was cold, and sub par tasting. I don't usually complain but it was so bad I asked the employee if she would get me fresh queso at the least, she kindly did so and brought it back still cold. I left very disappointed as a brought a first time torchys goer. I decided to give it another chance, I'm from Fort Worth and every time I went to those locations my experience was great. So thought maybe it was a 1 off situation. Anyways, I walked in and the employee at the register is eating a sucker... I was going to look past the one as they weren't in the kitchen. Then, I sat and watched a girl packing food eating a sucker as well. OVER THE FOOD with no gloves. The individuals were kind but either not trained properly or there's not great oversight. We placed an order for pick up today. I mentioned I had a reward for 1/2 queso and chips and were told we could apply when we got there. My husband picked up the order and because he didn't have my app, I couldn't get the chips (which is fine), but should have been just removed from the order-instead we were charged. We were also missing a taco even though the order was repeated back 2x. They were so busy and mistakes happen, so I can get past those. The tacos were not good, however. They didn't have a "fresh" taste. I got the trailer park, baja shrimp, and midnight cowboy tacos as well as a side of street corn. Honestly, none of them tasted good. My husband's shrimp in one of the baja shrimp tacos had sand in it which is big no no. So many other great taco spots in the area. I'll pass on this one. read more
