Haven't been to this place since prob 2020 and was the one in McKinney. The menu is way different from back then. The service was great, Miriam here at the LE location took her time to explain the changes. It was a lot of options for a counter order so I didn't expect that lol. Everything was super fresh. We got the 5 tacos and chicken loaded nachos. I don't remember the salsa bar before. It's a huge portion for your money. Enough to fill up a high schooler. Not sure what caused the revamp but very happy about it. Also feel it's uncommon to have such a young looking staff who cares so much about Customer Service. We've been going to this location infrequently for the past 10 years but this week's visit will be the last. Earlier this year we swore off the location near 380 and 75 because it's possibly the filthiest restaurant I've ever been in. Staff has always been moderately introverted but couldn't care less because the food was fast, good and complete. One item we ordered were the kid menu quesadillas. When I order I told the guy, "we just need meat and cheese". Ordered the taco plate with Carne Asada. Took 30 minutes for the tacos to arrive and the CA looked like it's been on the grill a couple days. Resembled dried up hamburger meet. Flour tortillas were almost like crispy tacos. The 'dillas showed up about 10 minutes later. They were extremely flat, no meat. Looking at the menu photo we saw maybe they come with meat. So when I said meat and cheese only the desk worker should have said "they're cheese only". Gave our son much of the CA from the tacos but he suggested we send the 'dillas back for a re-do. He's nine and understood to expect more. . There were at least six people working. I could see their orders on the touch screen behind the counter. Relatively small orders. Nothing difficult. We went through the drive through, and had order a whole chicken and 1 plate of tacos. When we got to the window, they said that they were out of chickens and that the wait was going to be 25 minutes. so, we ended up getting an order of chicken tacos in flour tortilla, but when we got home they did all tacos in corn. The prices have gone up, it looks like for all menu item; however, the tacos size is smaller. The price for the side of beans and rice it's just outrageous!!! The beans no longer had meat in it, or I am not sure I was super unlucky that I did not got a single piece of meat in it. Pollo Regio is really cheap with the sauce and will not give extra sauce even when you ask. I am not sure about this location, but some locations will charge for extra sauce. The place is tiny and it was full of construction workers, which was not bad but they were hanging around even after their food was done so we got it to go. I really feel that Pollo Regio the real deal when it comes to authentic Mexican food. Ive only ordered Uber and my food has been delicious and packed nicely every time. I asked for 5 carne asada tacos, they gave me a barbacoa, 1 carne asada, another one that was chewy (maybe lengua), and pork. They did not give me any salsa. And the wait in the drive thru was 20 minutes long...and it was just me in the drive thru! I spent $20, and only ate the one taco which was carne asada and had to throw out the rest. English is very limited here which leaves room for so many errors. This will be the last time I come here. Word from the wise....check your bag and make sure they've given you the food you ordered.
