French Onion Soup
Stephanie M.

We came for a small quick meal on a Saturday at around 5:00pm. We had the french onion soup and the burger. The french onion soup was very good. The Cheese was nicely melted. Lots of onion. You could taste the beefy stock in it. Bread wasn't overly mushy. The burger was mediocre. Nothing special. Would skip the burger. Salad seemed kind of dead. The main event here is definitely the French Onion Soup. It's in a nice touristy location so lots of tourists eating in here. Service is very nice - English speaking. The bathroom is downstairs and really small but does the trick. Overall would recommend for French Onion Soup.

We ate at The Family on our first night in Paris Nov 6. The food, salmon and a salad with chicken were very good and just what we wanted. The drinks were generous and our waiters were very nice. I would recommend

What a little gem! Surprisingly good value considering the high traffic / touristy location, The Family is warm, cosy and welcoming with a great menu and wonderful staff. We picked this place based on other reviews we'd seen, and were not disappointed. We didn't feel rushed at all, but the service was very efficient and both food and drinks were delivered promptly by friendly servers. Families, couples and small groups were welcomed with equal hospitality, and The Family is a place I'll certainly recommend and return to.

It's a small hole in a wall restaurant but the food was amazing. They have their menu on a small blackboard that they move from one table to another. The food was amazing, i ordered steak & it was cooked to perfection. The service was as impeccable! I truly enjoyed this place & pricing was good too!

Bear meeting our family at Family

Food was great. Service was even better. It was a little warm inside for us, (US) but cooled off eventually. Still, it was a great place to go near Gare St. Lazare. Steak entree, onion soup and chocolate Mousse for dessert were great

Friendly sight coming into the restaurant

So convenient after a long day of walking around Galleries Lafayette and Printemps! The Family is located around the corner from H&M Very nice host and hostess. They helped us pick out the menu items All the fish was very good! We had the ceviche and sea bass. Great presentation and had a combination of fruits & veggies The pasta chorizo was perfect to share - loved the cheese that came with this and the sauce wasn't too creamy or overwhelming Amazing, had to give this 5 stars

GREAT service and food! We were greeted with friendly smiles and the staff was awesome! Loved the food!

We just finished shopping at Galleries LaFayette and all of our group were STARVING! We opened Yelp! to search for a close by restaurant and The Family appeared. We read the reviews and walked the 500 feet to the restaurant. My sister had the deviled egg starter, which she said was amazing!! My sister and I had the fish of the day, which was laid upon a bed of mixed veggies and a light cream sauce. My wife and our friend both had the steak with cheesy mash potatoes. All of us LOVED our meals....when the food arrived, all that was heard was OH MY GOD!, Mmmmm, etc, etc!!! I am writing this review BEFORE my dessert of espresso and a dessert tasting plate because I expect it to be equally delicious!! I will definitely return on my next trip to Paris!

Chocolate Mousse

Excellent service and good food. Definitely recommended! The hanger steak with pepper sauce was delicious.

These smaller bistro type eateries are the lifeblood of the local cuisine. They consistently offer reasonably priced dishes that are full of flavor and technique. The wine and drink options are well catered to the menu and they provide options for most price points. The service we experienced was exactly what you want... our server had plenty of suggestions based on the offerings of the day. The service was attentive and responsive... not much more than you could ask for. I had the duck breast being offered... it was served alongside crispy potatoes, green beans, and a salad. Adding in the onion soup and a glass of wine... it quickly became a King's dinner at a very reasonable price. I would be more than happy to eat here again and look forward to exploring the rest of the menu offering many local and classic French options.

This fall (2026), I shall return to Paris and that dish is on my hit list for sure. In fact, I may order 2! Service was very personable. Small place but the largest table had 6 locals who livened up the joint. Americans planning to be in Paris Sept 28-30 hit me up we'll meet for din din. Zig

Making a reservation isn't hard but you do need to email them and there's no online booking system. You also have to confirm again 1-2 days before. I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

It's a tiny restaurant, so if you're a party of two, you might share a table with others, but they have spacers so you don't feel like you're eating together. Reservations were easy to make. You email in your requested sitting and someone will get back to you shortly. We were able to get in a little ahead of schedule and start the adventure. Wines were reasonably priced and they had a good variety of cocktails. We hadn't had French onion soup on our trip, so we ordered it as an appetizer. Sometimes it can get a little salty, but these were very well blended. Sacree Fleur seems to be known for their steak and frites, so we ordered the steak for two. Steak comes out on a sizzling platter. You can turn the pieces over to keep cooking until your preferred temperature. It was quite succulent and the fries were well prepared. There are two dipping sauces and some salt to season your meal. We hadn't a great time and way too much food :)

We were so looking forward to the frog legs, onion soup and other delicacies pictured. We got there and the sign was just as it was with the same name -- Au Pied du Sacre Coeur. We should've noticed something was wrong when no one was inside. When the waiter (lone person working along with cook) gave us the menu, my wife and I stared at each other completely confused. The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup. He looked confused and just said no. Out of respect for him, we just ordered the charcuterie, which featured stale bread and a few slices of meat taken from my local grocery store in the U.S. Also -- they claimed to not accept any international credit cards. WHAT HAPPENED? Are all these reviews fake? Most likely, they underwent new ownership right when we visited. But new visitors -- please beware. Do not trust any of the reviews before mine. If I was mistaken, please post photos and just tell me that I was part of some elaborate joke to ruin a lunch for me and my wife.

That's not acceptable. The food, however, was. Hence my difficulty in giving one rating. Our 3 dishes tried were indeed solid. Generous servings of seafood in the bouillabaisse, and I have no qualms whatsoever with my cuise de grenouille and foie gras salads. Bread kept us alive. The free Cote du Rhône glass was appreciated for check-in! Our server had his head permanently at a 30 degree angle, staring at his mobile. Tis a shame. But he was friendly ( oh, and easy on the eyes). I liked the quiet location out of the chaotic fray, like up the street, with all its smoking and volume. PS This is lover's type of location. Even the dark end of the small street feels illicit!
