It's been a while since I've stopped in to get a burger from this place but the day has come. And guess what? The burgers are as good as I remember! Super juicy and flavorful. I'd say they're one of my favorites in the area. And this is coming from a true burger lover. The fact that they offer gluten free buns, makes it a complete experience for me. Fall is here, it's bringing that cozy, it's-time-to-carb-load weather and The Dutchess Biercafe has not great food, INCREDIBLE, tasty, solid, dishes with great beers. Finally a place where you can grab a beer but with excellent food. We came here with two tables of friends and sat outside because it was literally the perfect day out, enjoying as much of the outdoors while we can. Our waiter was so down to earth and gave us great recommendations for what to order. With their Belgian inspired menu, you can get things like pretzels, pommes frites, melt in your mouth mac and cheese with that incredible house made cheese sauce **drooling** and more! Make sure to check out their specials because..they're pretty special. They actually had a s'mores skillet and fried Oreos dessert special that I totally missed out on. If you get here without a sweet tooth, oh believe me, you're getting one or leaving with one like I did. HUGE mistake in not ordering dessert (for no reason). Also, can't believe the times I've driven by and the patio just looks like a little cute seating section except it goes all the way BACK! Can't wait to spend spring days and beautiful summer nights here. We stumbled upon this place. Had an absolutely amazing dinner. We had beet salad which they just added in cherries in 2 days ago. Super delicious. Then we tried the short rib and curry noodles. Very flavorful. Finally saw everyone with the fried chicken so finished off our meal with that which also came with delicious pickled veggies. FOOD: we ordered - Brussels Sprouts, the Poutine, the French Onion burger & Brunch burger The Sprouts were given to another table so they had to make new ones and we didn't get them until we were almost finished. They were nicely charred and would have been perfect except they were over salted. Poutine - so salty we couldn't eat it. French Onion Burger - came Med Rare as ordered and had a nice flavor. It was also slightly over salted but was edible. Brunch Burger was delivered Medium as ordered and had a nice flavor. SERVICE - the staff was out of synch all evening and at one point 2 servers argued in the middle of the floor about who had what tables. OVERALL: I would give them a 2nd chance on a warm night to sit outside and sample their beer menu but wouldn't return for the food. Our visit here was prompted by the other German restaurant we wanted to go to was closed on a Wednesday night. So here we are from a recommendation of our son. Our server was very friendly and she checked on us often. We really liked her attentiveness. We ordered the best of the wurst platter, jagermeister platter and the pirogies. We also ordered a variety of beers with our meals. The wurst platter was not the worst...lol...it was Fantastic! Restaurant options in the Fishkill area are a bit limited, but the nice spots are all on Main St. This restaurant was a solid spot, especially perfect after a long hike to enjoy some delicious hearty food and cold beers. All of the food tasted great, with generous portions, and the beers (mostly Belgian beers) hit the spot. The space is wide, both inside and outside. This place is a staple in Fishkill. Great casual food and a solid choice of beer. This is a place where you don't need to dress up and can feel at home. I had a pea and ham soup with grilled cheese sandwich and it hit the spot. My husband said his Mac and cheese tasted great. Service was good. We did notice that the beer glass that was brought to the table still had lips mark on it (eww!), but it was quickly replaced. Hopefully it was just a glitch. read more

This was absolutely amazing! We went here for our 13 year anniversary. The beer was amazing! I had a peche Mel and the hubs had the garre. We shared the cheese curds which was epic! I don't recommend this restaurant. We had the special 18 oz prime rib. $50. It was under cooked and as chewy as a rubber hose. This place serves beer and beef. How do you screw up the beef part? My husband and I enjoyed our visit to the Dutchess Biercafe over the weekend, bonus points for allowing our 4 legged family member to join on the patio! We showed up around 2pm on a Saturday without a reservation, and were promptly seated within a few minutes with our dog. I also thought that with the questions I had asked about a couple beers, a 5 star service might have been offering for me to try a sample of the beers I was asking about (especially because their menu specifically says they want you to enjoy your beer). Sure, I know that I could have asked for a sample myself, just pointing out what I thought was the difference between 4 and 5 star here!) The food was solid. The poutine was very flavorful, fries crispy - we thoroughly enjoyed this appetizer. My husband said his fried chicken sandwich was well fried and crunchy on the outside, juicy chicken on the inside. I enjoyed my mussels overall, 3/5 on taste - but it was quite heavy on the salt and did not exactly taste like coconut or curry. If I was judging on taste overall, it's a 3/5, if it was on coconut curry and accuracy I think it would be a 2/5 because there was no coconut or curry flavor at all. The mussels were plump, well cooked and the one good thing about the salty broth was that it was nice for the bland baguettes 2 rounds of beers, an appetizer, and 2 entrees ran us roughly $85 including tip. I don't know where to start with this place, everything about it is wonderful. Today we visited for the 2nd time, partly because the food is so good and partly because we can sit outside at a table with our pup. Today we were waited on by Morgan, who lucky for us, is an animal lover but also just genuinely a lovely human. She was very kind to our Katie (as was another waitress, I regret not knowing her name). I ordered the chicken and waffle 'sandwich'. The waffles are dense and sweet, the chicken is fried perfectly crispy and it's got just the right amount of maple bacon jam, its more loose than jam though, like an actual syrup. My husband had the Notorious PIG, a burger with cheese that that had the thickest 2 slices of bacon I've ever seen in real life. We ended up taking home 1 waffle and the 2 pieces of bacon that will be a good snack later. I then decided I wanted to try a beer and saw the Delirium Red..thankfully Morgan brought me just a sample because I wasn't loving it. She also brought me a sample of the Dubuisson Peche Mel (peach beer), I did like that. Lastly she brought me a sample of what I call a secret menu beer because technically it's not on the menu. Ends up it was a mix of both the beers I sampled and it was THE BEST!!! We live 45 min away, waited probably 30 min for a table and I'd take the drive and wait, any day because this place is THAT GOOD. read more

We had dinner at the Biercafe with a larger group on a business trip. Our party was seated in a side room together with another large group, which was very loud and made conversation at our table difficult. The food was ok, although there are limited options for vegetarians. The beer selection is certainly great though. Service was initially decent, but after we were served our food, the waiter didn't come by any more, so we didn't get to try more beer and getting the check also took a long time.
