Lobster Tacos
Ayden T.

The plating of the food was beautiful! The food looked better than it tasted, but was still pleasing to my taste buds. The tacos were so cute, but quite the mouthful. It tasted like a yummy mush, but it has hard to savor all the ingredients. The clam chowder was SUPERB, and the bacon bits packed quite the punch. Additionally, the meat in the pork buns was so juicy, and the bun didn't get spicy :) I would've liked a few more vegetable filling in it though. However, the burger was extremely dry and inedible without ketchup. Finally, only a few aspects of the desert were pleasurable. SOMETHING SCARY HAPPENED THOUGH! I found a big piece of sharp plastic in my taco, but luckily I didn't bite down hard, so I was unharmed. We told the servers and the handled the situation professionally with humility. They comped some of our dinner, and gave us free dessert. Overall the servers went above and beyond to ensure our comfort was kept through the entire time. Very timely, friendly, and understanding. The ambiance was lovely. There was a beautiful view overlooking the park from the outdoor seating perspective. All of the decor, utensils, and menus were fashionably cohesive as well. I would definitely come again :)

Fried zucchini blossoms

This place is a gem. The food, view, service, and facilities blew us away. We'll be talking about the zucchini blossoms for a long time. The food was up there with some of the landmark restaurants we love in Portland, Maine or Woodstock, Vermont. The staff was outstanding, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable given the quality and setting. We're looking forward to coming back. Tip: Get there an hour or two before your reservation and enjoy the really beautiful grounds or a walk to the beach.

My family had a special vacation at Martha's Vinyard. At our last evening we had dinner at an outside cabana which we reserved. The ambiance was gorgeous. We sat near the pool, and views of the resort. Our waiter wore a mask, and his picture plus name on the badge on his shirt. Our drinks. bread and appetizers came quickly but our dinner orders for the 5 of us took over an hour. As sppetizers we had the beet salad and the tomato salad. All were tasty. Our dinners: 2 salmon filets, 1 swordfish. 1 tuna steak, and 1 filet of beef with French fries. The fish entrees came with mixed veges. Swordfish excellent, salmon good but sauce very spicy and tuna difficult to chew , it had to be returned for a bit more cooking . The filet of beef excellent. Dessert, one chocolate cake for the grandchild who loved it. Food plated nicely, came out hot, and menu pricey. The resort was beautiful and we would probably return for a special occasion. It was memorable and we felt safe during this covid time

I went here for dinner with two friends on a Saturday night of the Memorial Day weekend. We had a reservation for 6pm and were seated promptly. The website indicated that they have 2-4-1 apps between 5-7 pm however when we asked our server she didn't know and so she asked the manager about it and he was unaware as well. They told us that they were not informed about the special. In any case we ordered two of the "Left Fork" mussels with grilled bread appetizers which came out promptly. They were some of the largest and most Succulent mussels we ever had. We destroyed them and sat back to wait for our entrees. After about 1/2 hour sitting with the empty shells in front of us we decided they had to go so we moved them to the side of our table and continued to enjoy our wine. It was another 10 minutes or so before the wait staff noticed and took them away. Finally 45 minutes or more after we ordered, our entrees arrived. I had the roasted cod in broth with mushrooms and Brussels Sprouts which was wonderful. Phil had the fish and chips which came with steak fries, romaine and radicchio lettuce with Caesar dressing. He loved it. Jan had the MV lobster with orzo and cheddar and arugula which she enjoyed. After we finished, we asked to see the dessert menu which looked good. I informed our server that we wanted desserts but were concerned that it would be another hour before they came out. She was very apologetic and said the kitchen was short staffed. They expected more staff to arrive next week. We skipped desserts and asked for our check. We were laid back on Island time so the long dinner (2 1/2 hours) did not phase us and the food was delicious. I did not see the check so I don't know if we got the 2 for one deal. I will plan to return in a couple of weeks to see if they got the kinks out.

Mushroom rigatoni

We were expecting a nice view and okay food but we were blown away. The food was excellent and the servers were super nice. The fried zucchini blossoms and accompanying sauce were so flavorful! The mushroom rigatoni and the halibut were also amazing. Too bad we were too full to try dessert. Will definitely be back.

Nice meal. Fairly Attentive staff. Daisy was super nice. We had drinks on the great deck which was slightly chilly but theres a warming fire. Martini was $15 - a bit steep and a surprise. Bartender forgot us then forgot my lemon twist but the waitress recovered for her. Nice wine list and good selection by the glass. I had veg pad Thai. I would have spiced it up and used Thai or glass noodles but this peanutty dish was good. Traci had colossal shrimp. She really liked the sauce. Chowder was okay good but not enough. Seemed really light on the serving size. Lots of bacon in the middle though. I did get clams but not enough Clam taste.

We were in MV for a girls trip and I'm so glad we celebrated our last night at 19 Raw. I…read morerecommended this restaurant to my friends based on the reviews and it did not disappoint - the food, service and atmosphere were fantastic. To start, a couple of us ordered oysters as an appetizer and they were delicious, fresh and tasty. For our main courses, we ordered filet mignon, chicken, lobster tagliatelle and tuna from the diverse menu. Each one of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Everything was cooked exactly as ordered and seasoned perfectly. We also ordered a few sides, such as the roasted carrots with cashew butter, brussel sprouts with pork landons and my favorite - the scallion goat cheese mash, which were mashed potatoes packed with yumminess! Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent service, while the ambience was quite comfortable and inviting. I remembered reading reviews about the carrot cake and although we were all full, we knew we had to try it so we got one slice for the five of us and it may have been the best carrot cake I've ever eaten. If you like carrot cake this is a must and well worth it. If you're in Edgartown, I would definitely include 19 Raw in your restaurant list.

We started with the lobster and caviar Hawaiian roll, which was flavorful and delicious. The grilled octopus served over pork and white beans was another standout--the flavor profile here was top tier. Honestly, the appetizers had me expecting the rest of the meal to be on the same level. Unfortunately, the entrées were a different story. The rack of lamb was cooked perfectly temperature-wise, but the lack of seasoning was unbelievable. The execution was there, but it desperately needed flavor. We also ordered the halibut, which was extremely dry--to the point that I couldn't finish it. The sides brought things back around. The jalapeño corn and Brussels sprouts were both and packed with flavor. And then there was the Filthy Dirty Rich Martini with caviar-stuffed olives --AMAZING. Easily one of the highlights of the night and something I would absolutely order again. Overall, 19 Raw nails the ambiance, cocktails, appetizers, and service. The appetizers in particular showed just how good the kitchen can be, which made the disappointing entrées even more surprising. I'd come back, but next time I might stick to cocktails, appetizers, and small plates.

Bottom Line: Seafood and American fare served in what feels like an upscale sea shanty…read more My husband and I enjoyed our last night in MV at Square-Rigger and we had a great experience. Visiting in the shoulder season the restaurant was quiet. We enjoyed the decor that had a sophisticated sea shanty feel and the food was even more sophisticated. We skipped appetizers, although there were plenty of tempting options, and went right for main courses consisting of a filet mignon and seafood pasta. Service was great and we appreciated that this restaurant was not in the thick of the high traffic touristy areas.

All I wanted that day was some fried shrimp and clam strips -- and for me, the strips are key because they skip the extra parts you get with whole clams. Unfortunately, they were out of clam strips, so we went with fried shrimp, fries, and lobster bisque. Since I had to share with my wife, I asked for extra shrimp -- but heads up, it's $3 per shrimp. Not complaining, just letting you know. The lobster bisque came out hot and creamy, but I was hoping for a bit more depth of flavor and a little more lobster meat and a little less bisque. The shrimp were tasty and fried well, but personally, I prefer mine butterflied for that extra texture and presentation. What stood out most, though, was the service. Friendly, quick, and attentive, which matters a lot when you're trying a local favorite. Overall, Square Rigger delivers a solid experience, but I left wishing for just a little more -- especially when you're at a place with that kind of reputation. Verdict: Good shrimp, great service, but I'll be back hoping for those clam strips next time.

It's an old house (I think) so there are a lot of rooms, but they flow into each other so you never feel isolated. The decor is beautiful, with gorgeous lighting fixtures and drapery. Our server, Mary Beth, could not have been more friendly, helpful or attentive. She's a star! Started with perfect martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives, and their delicious complimentary bread, that seemed to have a swirl of pesto in it. We had a dozen oysters, and then half a dozen more because they were amazing! Crisp Menemsha Spearpoings, with a side of pomegranate mignonette (loved it) and a yuzu cream sauce (so different and very tasty.) We also shared the seared Fois gras which was really good but I would have liked a smaller but thicker piece. I had the duck breast, and it was superb! So moist on the inside with a crisp exterior, and seasoned so well. The raviolis that accompanied it was also soft yet crisp, and yummy! My husband loved his lamb chops (and I loved the potatoes that came with them!) Our guest had her regular order of short ribs. (She dines there often, and suggested we go there. So glad we did!) Finished with a desert of Eton Mess...dreamy meringue, white chocolate & fruit, and the sea salt caramel ice cream. Divine. We are definitely returning!

The inside reminded me of restaurants in France with the simple table setting and minimalistic decor. Our server was so sweet and attentive, carefully explaining the menu to us. The oysters had two different pairings and we loved both of them. I had the sauteed potato gnocchi and it was delicious. The gnocchi had the perfect texture and all of the vegetables were so refreshing and well-cooked. My fiancee had the lamb chops and it's the best ones he's had. Perfectly cooked, rich sauce, and creamy mashed potatoes.

Food was beyond awful. The only saving grace was our wonderful server Svetlana who was excellent but for a supposed 'fine dining' experience it was just a flop. I had to send back my crab cakes as they were literally burnt to a crisp. My husband got a mocktail in a hot glass and it tasted so bad neither of us could take more than a sip. My husbands clam chowder was heavy, salty and had a coagulated layer on top. His lobster pasta came out lukewarm and completely bland. Only good dish was my lobster bisque which was very tasty. Beautiful location, lovely ambience and great server but the food was a big, big disappointment. Despite sending 2 items back, no manager came over to us. We saw a table beside us send back their entree and did not want it replaced knowing the quality would likely be equally as bad. At least they seemed to have management address the issue. Would not recommend at all.
