We are locals who rarely go out on the island, but we decided to treat ourselves only to be sorely disappointed. I placed a very large order to The Fish house around 4:30 expecting there to be a summer rush giving plenty of time for pick up by 5:00. My order came through as being done within 18 minutes which shocked me but started to head that way. MV in July accompanied by copious amounts of rain meant insane traffic on the commute to pick up our food. I arrived at 5:20 to find my bag of food slapped on a shelf in the front lobby of the restaurant. Mind you, I fully expected that my hot food wouldn't be 100% when I got there. However, I did NOT expect for our RAW TUNA BOWL to have sat at the bottom of the bag under steaming hot food. This is a heath violation if I have ever seen one. I understand it's busy in the summer, but if you run an establishment that costs people $100's to eat there I expect someone to hand me my food when I arrive and at least keep the raw fish at a safe temperature until pick up. I went back into the store to discuss this with the manager and ask for a refund but was simply told there's a "4 hour period where food can't go bad".. my husband owned a restaurant for many years and this is a poor example of quality business. SUMMER businesses and some are NOT... Save your money and go to Sandy's! Also pictured a $30 Lobster Roll

This is a relatively new business on Martha's Vineyard which deserves high ratings for their fresh seafood, meats and to go meals. Located mid island at the airport, the fish house shares a parking lot with MV wine and spirits (another great business) and the Black Sheep. So you can take care of everything in one stop. The staff at the Fish House are friendly and helpful. I think this is a family run business with great connections to the fishermen who bring their catch to the island. The Fish House even raised a large sum of $$ from their customers and friends for a local fisherman that had a boating accident. This is especially important for the community. Try their green sauce - it is delicious!

First timers. Called ahead for Korean Chicken Sandwich, Fried Cod Tacos, Tuna Poke Bowl, Fried Oysters, and Fries. Pretty good all round. I had the poke bowls. Good size as it should be for $20. Nice sushi rice with a good amount of good raw tuna, seaweed salad and avocado. I had a tint taste of Korean chicken sandwich--very good. Thought was best item for value and taste. Fried oysters were way overpriced, but we liked them. The fish tacos were fine as were the fries. Bought some interesting spice mixes made in Maine. Wish we had known daily sandwich special was blackened swordfish. Would definitely return. Next to Black Sheep eatery and a liquor store. Many necessities at this Airport Road spot! All in all, a nice fish market with lunch to go.

Fantastic poke, the best on the island. I love their seared tuna, it had a wonderful spice on the crust of the fish, and a good amount of fish for the price as well. Delicious seaweed salad that isn't too overwhelming in flavor.

A beautiful little fish house that is both very clean and full of great looking fish. I bought multiple items, even a pre-made shrimp summer roll that was good. There's a nice variety of fish, all local, along with steamers, oysters, and shrimp. We bought poke bowls for lunch, and am so-so on them. The rice was good, but the bowl is mostly a little fish and a lot of rice. Poke was a very small amount vs any place I've ever purchased bowls (yes, other nice fish houses). There just wasn't much too it. I took a photo before I ate it and have to say that it photographs well, I just wish there was more than 8 pieces of fish. I would go back for fish or other lunch items, but do plan to not get a poke bowl here again.

Burned whole belly clams with no bellies

Take out whole belly clams had no bellies. What there was was heavily breaded and wildly overcooked, so that it tasted mostly of burned crumbs. For that they charged almost $30. Into the trash with that meal. On the other hand their coleslaw portion is minute and their fish sandwich is smaller and more expensive than other places. We had to search in the breading to find the onion in the onion rings. I feel totally ripped off. Go somewhere else.

Yay for this place! Such a great addition to the food scene on MV. Best poke bowl on the island and very good fish sandwich too. Together with the Black Sheep Market next door and MV Wines on the other side are a food lover's delight.

Freshly caught fish is now available.

We've been awaiting the opening of The Fish House since we saw their renovation proceeding earlier this year. We stopped by today to find out they are OPEN. The location at MVY airport between MV Wine & Spirits and Black Sheep Provision Co, is handy to up island residents. Shaving 20 minutes of the trip to Edgartown is appreciated! The fish look fresh and tasty. We're just now prepping two dozen oysters. More details later!

I've only had their take out poke bowls, which are excellent. It's typically very quick and they're super friendly.

I stumbled across Edgartown Seafood Market on a whim, not craving anything in particular. I asked the guy behind the counter, "What are you known for?" Without hesitation, he said, "The bluefish spread." Let me tell you -- it hit the spot. Flavorful, fresh, and just salty enough to keep you coming back for more. We paired it with Wheat Thins and chips, and it instantly became a staple for us. Since that first visit, we've added their cole slaw and seaweed salad to our regular order -- both are fresh, crisp, and perfectly balanced. This is one of those places that makes you want to eat and shop like a local. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and you can tell they take pride in what they serve. If you're on the island, this is a must-stop spot. Whether you're picking up seafood to cook or grabbing ready-made bites, they make you feel like you've discovered a Vineyard insider's gem. Verdict: Bluefish spread is the move. Stock up -- you'll regret not getting more.

There is a lot of produce here that doesn't exist anywhere else on the island. But the markup on their products makes the bulk of what they sell inaccessible to the average person. It's beyond the classic healthfood store pricing, we're talking $20 for a jar of almond butter when Vineyard Grocer (under five minutes away) sells the same thing for much less. I mean, it seems counterintuitive to be focused on eco-friendliness and then to price out the majority so only some can afford it, right? Like, if you want people buying non-organic/fair trade/etc, why make it so most of them can't do it at your store? The counter argument I usually hear is that you get a discount via the Island Club Card, but that's going away soon and it's like $90. So it's still a problem. Sometimes you'll need to go here to buy something you want and in all honesty if you're visiting the island it's worth checking out. But always look at the price tag before you buy anything, you never know when something that should be $7 is $30.

The store isn't even that well stocked or clean. I literally saw a pint of cherry tomatoes for $10. The yogurt I buy is $1.25 at Wegman's and $2.49 at Cronig's. Soda that's often 4 two liters for $5 in Boston is $3.99 each. I walked out with some drinks and snacks for the beach and it was $100. Checkout people are nice. It's sad because I would love to support local businesses and I'm not a Stop and Shop fan but it's better than this.
