The chowder fries are fantastic!! A local friend told me to come here specifically for the chowder fries and this was excellent advice. Wow! So good!! Friendly service. Lively ambiance and busy place. Pretty warm inside as far as the temperature. I didn't feel any AC or breezes. They have a bar one side and a restaurant on the other. The bar was packed and everyone looked like they were having a great time. They have an ATM machine too. read more

Great menu, sat quickly for a late lunch, and delightful server who answered all our questions about town. We didn't feel rushed whatsoever which was a welcomed surprise. The strawberry salad is out of this world. The addition of pickled red onions adds a refreshing tang. Would have been great with grilled chicken on top, but I wasn't hungry enough for it. Some of the better fries I've eaten! Great crunch! Don't skip em. Husband loved the fried chicken sandwich (hard to mess up, but it has happened). Pricing is really competitive and portions were good. We'd go back. read more

Drinks were very yummy! Shrimp & grits, and lobster pasta were both delicious. We had the sweetest waitress (Rowan)!!!

The ambiance is great relaxed and smooth...the food was good, solid and tasty! The service was great with good suggestions! I recommend this place..... read more

The food and our waiter were amazing. Our problem was the older woman. We aren't sure of her name but me and a friend went to the bathroom and we were having feminine issues. She came into the bathroom and yelled into the stall "girls out of the stall you don't need to be in there for 20 minutes". This just felt quite disrespectful considering we were dealing with an issue and were not even near the bar as we were in the restaurant bathroom. I am very disappointed in the staffing here and hope this older lady will not continue to service people as she made us uncomfortable and made us feel small by coming into the bathroom and yelling at us. read more

I would give this place a negative 10. We were excited to have drinks there after a recommendation by Jesse at 19 Raw Oyster Bar, where we spent over $500 for dinner. We would have easily spent another $200 at The Wharf, however, the bouncer was rude and aggressive and told us he was from the island and "us outsiders" would ruin his business. He literally got up and chased my husband away. If you are a tourist, stay clear. And by the way, I have never seen an owner also be the bouncer, so if you; owner, are reading this: I highly suggest you hire people that have better that have better customer service skills. Last time I checked, islands like this survive on tourist income. read more

We had a terrific lunch. The waiter, Joao, had specials he recommended. The short ribs were outstanding. My wife had the tuna burger which she loved. The service was excellent. The main menu is expansive so easy to find something to eat. Located on Main Street near the water. It is a short walk from visitor center where buses drop off. read more

I recently was one of the "special guests" at the private dinner and three nights of "meet and greet" activity for the JAWS 50th anniversary celebration. Pulling off a full venue event for hundreds of people is a very difficult task- even for a smaller event. The door security was excellent and the management was present and visible both as floor and business managers. They were polite and cordial, aware of issues and directing the staff as needed without being overbearing. The staff was comfort and service oriented while being gracious and thoughtful- with a smile. There were enough for full and effective coverage. The private dinner the night before the event was a chafing dish affair with a wide array of choices. I'm a vegetarian and there were several choices for me. I asked meat eaters how there's were and they raved over the quality and flavors. I loved the pasta romaine salad with shaved parmesan and the mash potatoes were probably a variation of Jacque Pepin's- they were PERFECT! The pasta with mozzarella and pesto were delicious. I went back for seconds! The whole restaurant was meticulously clean and the rest rooms were kept clean and stocked each night during the event. Obviously not an accident as this is hard to keep stable. There was no detail not executed. The "lite" fair served by staff on the move, to seated and walking guests for the three nights of the event was varied had vegetarian selections and the staff was receptive to requests and covered everyone so no one was left unattended. I've never had deep fried macaroni and cheese before but it was great. So was the deep fried risotto and the dipping sauces! The staff were were "hospitality hawks" on the hunt every minute, and worked hard at making everyone feel welcome and important. At the end of the event I met the head Chef- I believe his name was Christianos- he wanted me to autograph his shirt which I was pleased to do. As the Captain of the kitchen it was an honor to meet the man who cooked such excellent food and made sure it was abundant, looked appetizing and was hot. This took an enormous amount of logistical effort and "people leadership" to pull off. Again it wasn't an accident Christianos had worked his heart out for four days and NOTHING not even one appetizer was wrong or off even a little. I gave him a collectible and a big hug. At the end of the event I was very well pleased to have witnessed the management and staff cooperating and pulling the event off without a hitch. You hit on every cylinder and it was perfect. Thank you! And I'm sure every guest there thanks you too! AMITY MEANS FRIENDSHIP! read more

Came here with my friend, the ambiance was nice and made it feel like we were in a pub. It was very quite as we went mid to late afternoon but, based on the space and bar area they had we assumed it would be a good place to get a drink later at night for that area. The service was great, the waiter was nice and our food came out quickly. We only got the Clam Chowder which was fantastic as it was filled with flavor and surprised us with bacon bites. Highly recommend and would definitely go back to get other dishes! read more

Avoid this place at all costs. They don't know how to treat their customers. My wife ordered a dish which was "disgusting" so sent it back and ordered something else. The manager Matt, insisted on charging us for that dish and what we replaced it with.... We ended up eating none of it since we were in shock by the horrible service. Matt doesn't know how to run a restaurant and needs to be replaced. Luckily the other restaurants in MV know how to treat people, so with all the good food choices here, please go elsewhere. I think the worst part was that the cowardly manager Matt didn't have the courage to tell us to our faces (probably because he knew he was wrong), and instead sent our sweet waitress to break the news to us. Unbelievable! read more

We were out in Edgartown last night looking for a spot to watch the Bruins game. Ended up at The Wharf, the staff was amazing. Started with San and Diane accommodating our party of 12 effortlessly. We stopped in on the later side for a quick bite to eat after some misadventures with lunch. We were taking the last ferry back to the mainland later that evening and had planned to have our main meal just prior to embarking on that journey. This was just to tide us over until then. I would like to start off by saying the service was very good. We entered at an awkward change of shift time and I could tell they went out of their way to make sure we were tended to. I ordered the Wharf Arnold Palmer and GF a bloody mary. The AP was more watery than I was expecting but got the job done. When asked about the bloody mary, GF says, "I've had better. There was a little too much tabasco flavoring". There were certainly a number of vegetarian items on the menu that caught my eye like the fried pickle chips, fried mozzarella, and a few of their salads but ultimately I had to control myself to save some room for later. GF ordered the chowder fries and I went with the oven baked pretzel sticks. The pretzel sticks were warm and soft. The honey mustard supplied on the side was a nice accompaniment but I would have preferred some variety with the addition of a pub cheese. Ultimately this was a good selection and I would recommend. The chowder fries were incredibly rich. GF enjoyed the shit out of them for the first half and then I saw pain in those eyes. I was told that there were no clams in there so I took it upon myself to sample some of it. They were creamy and delectable. I wouldn't recommend if you have gallstones but they're a good app to share in a large group. Very solid pub food. read more

This is a cozy place for lunch during a rain storm. It actually has quite a bit of seating and a pub like atmosphere. The service was friendly but a little weird. Maybe the servers were feeling logy like we were. The steamed clams (not steamers, if that is what you were expecting) weee delicious. The broth was amazing, and they were happy to provide extra bread for the sauce. My burger was just okay. Asked for medium rare, and it was definitely well. Felt/looked like a frozen preformed part, so not much could be done about that. It was fine for what it was. The clam chowder was very good. And the chowder fries were definitely a hit. French fries covered with chowder, grated cheese and bacon. Then broiled! Definitely rich. And we were glad with the portion size. It wasn't overwhelming. Decent beers and cocktails. Not a "must try" but definitely not a place to avoid. read more

The menu has something for everyone, even the Kids! That's what led us to try the Wharf. They are located near the Edgartown ferry downtown area. Easy to walk to but also there's parking in a lot nearby and street parking- just pay attention for loading zones marked by orange boxes and bold orange lettering. There's a Wharf spirits and a Wharf pub and restaurant. If you end up at Spirits side walk around the block and you will find the restaurant side. The pub part is separated from the restaurant area. We arrived with about 15 minutes to closing. We were immediately seated, greeted by our friendly server and provided the menu and given the heads up of the kitchen closing. Luckily, we already checked out the menu and could order right away. We decided on the wings (Honey Sriracha)and Chowder loaded fries for appetizers and the Flank steak and Seafood Fra Diavolo for main dishes and requested all food could be brought out at once. Being end of the night and we were ready to eat and was ready for anything The food came and we were blown away by the flavor and deliciousness. The Chowder fries were piping hot, flavorful, and the cheese pull on it....I wish I had a little video but the hungry man needed to eat. The Flank salad- I am an onion fan and these caramelized onions were perfectly cooked. The Marinade on the steak- I want to say a hint of worcestershire sauce but not sure but it was amazing. The Bleu cheese and pecans coupled with the sweetness from the onions- incredible! It was so good, I wasn't worrying about the wings. The steak temperature was perfect for the salad. Not too hot to wilt the lettuce. The balsamic dressing was just the right amount. I was full off of maybe half but was able to pack it up to eat later. The Seafood Fra Diavolo was also a hit. It smelled delicious and the hungry man said the bread was so good and buttered he couldn't help but eat the entire generous piece. Finally packing up the food I tried a sliver of a wing and the sauce was good. Perfect blend of the sweet and spicy. Leftover wings for lunch was delicious! So was the Bleu cheese. I will be back before I leave the island. The Calamari and the beer cheese and bacon Pretzel sticks are calling me read more

The Wharf is consistent and this is important for a year round restaurant on the island. The menu has a few surprises but otherwise it is pretty standard with the usual pub food choices. Sandwiches with a side of fries are large enough to share along with a shared appetizer. My hub and I had the calamari along with a deli chicken club on sourdough bread. The calamari was OK cooked perfectly however it didn't have a lot of flavor. The deli chicken club was packed with chicken bacon lettuce and tomato. The fries were crispy and flavorful quite delicious. Our server was very attentive and had a nice personality. The tables were Distantly spaced for the Covid separation and there weren't that many people on an off-season Monday afternoon. read more

Wharf Pub & Restaurant - Local draft beer, and Jamison - Pubs Near Me - Edgartown, Massachusetts

A decent spot in Edgartown to grab some bites and brews, but keep your expectations low. On a recent visit for lunch, we were underwhelmed by the slow service and mediocre food, which mostly amounts to 'pub grub' -- burgers, wings, sandwiches and salads. My lobster roll was pretty forgettable, but my kids were generally pleased with their order of Fish n' Chips and my wife seemed to enjoy her Steak Salad. And while the beer selection is decent, our server couldn't remember what they had on tap, so I had to place my own drink order at the bar. The Wharf is about as casual a spot as you'll find on Martha's Vineyard, making it a solid choice for visitors with young kids. And movie buffs will enjoy the autographed 'Jaws' display in the back dining room -- it turns out that the actor who played Alex Kintner once worked as a manager here, and still drops in on occasion to chat up the patrons. Still, it's hard to imagine there aren't better places to eat in Edgartown -- the Wharf may get the job done if you're not looking for anything special, but pass on it otherwise. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would, please do not order the duck! I ordered the duck, which I've had many times (many restaurants in different countries, etc). The duck tasted off plus it was smothered in bbq sauce. I spoke with Matt, the manager, about the meat not tasting adequate, something was off, and because I took one bite, he wanted us to pay full price for it. I said I am ok if he wants to charge for the one bite then that is fine. He said that the full price would have to be paid, even though it was one bite and they threw the rest of the food away. Though the manager is horrible, our waitress was great. We will be contacting the owner Will, about this. If you can go elsewhere to eat, I highly recommend it! Try Rockfish. read more

Almost didn't go here because it says on Yelp that's there's outside seating but there isn't any - also a random picture of a waterfront table! This place was not busy when we arrived which maybe should have been the first flag. The interior is kind of drab compared to other locations we ate. I ordered the margarita and it was terrible, just tequila and like 2 cups of lime juice. The food was average but the seafood pasta had too much sauce so the seafood was kind of swimming in it. The online menu also did not match the menu we were handed on location. I would not recommend read more

We went to the Wharf Pub for lunch on Memorial Day Weekend. The waiter was very nice and food was served very quickly. The menu was slim. We had calamari, fish and chips, and chicken ceasar salad. The calamari and fish&chips were greasy; the salad was average with very little (but good) chicken. The food vs price was absolutely NOT worth it. We also had a couple drinks, and they were ice to the brim.. definitely not worth it either. Ambiance was dark/pub type. So it was right for the title, but I'd recommend it for dinner. read more

Clam chowder was good. And the martini espresso was strong. About all I can say positive about this spot. We came in specifically for Seafood. Our waiter was nice, but not very knowledgeable about the dishes. The bathrooms were not clean at all. The lobster dinner was a full boiled lobster that was unopened and not cleaned when served. Perhaps some people enjoy that, but we were not made aware that we would need to clean our meal at the table, poop and all. The soft shell crab sandwich was not edible. Again, cooked whole and not cleaned inside. This was returned. Just a warning for those wanting to try this place out. Such perfect character for Edgartown, MV. EXACTLY what we'd expected from a pub in Jaws town. Spectacular atmosphere, and good food to back it up. We were a party of 3 last evening. Being of a restaurant background I respect the menu for its design of highly profitable menu items. That being said $11 for a "House Salad" which was about 3 pieces of overgrown chicory and a few tomatoes was criminal. The food we ordered was collectively inedible excepting the lobster bisque. Fried shrimp were cooked beyond recognition. Medium rare flank steak salad was gray slices of flank, that had been apparently marinated, atop a house salad. My dog enjoyed it when we brought it home. In all the meals were one of the worst I have ever had on Martha's Vineyard and we have lived here for over 35 years. As I said when walking out "never again" read more
