This is a year round restaurant that shares space with an adjacent hotel. There are both indoor and outdoor seating and it can get quite busy during the Island's high season. Rather quiet and easy to find parking and a seat during the shoulder and off seasons. There is a fire place that makes it feel comfy during the cooler nights. The staff is always pleasant and efficient. many have been there for several seasons so they are full time islanders. The food selection is both American and a nice Asian menu. Plenty of choices. This is a very lovely spot located at the Edgar hotel. Very convenient for guests. There's a parking lot at the Edgar and Stop and shop is next door so worst case you could probably park there too. There was some live music the night we went which was nice. It wasn't completely packed and tables were available. But it does get busy here! Very cool retro decor. Planes, cool artwork, and there was a stop light above our table! Friendly welcoming staff. Our waitress was present and checked on us throughout the meal. Our drinks and food were brought out in great timing. The food: for appetizers we decided on the spring rolls and the shrimp ceviche. The spring rolls were delicious! The sauce served was almoat like a spicy creamy sauce combined with a chili sauce. Well done! The shrimp ceviche had some flavor but was just ok. The white sauce provided was delicious- we think it was mayo based maybe mayo and sour cream but it was cool in temp. For main meals we tried the chicken taco bowl and garlic chili wings and green beans. The wings and green beans were great. The green beans had a nice garlic flavor not overpowering and the wings were crispy and the sauce was a great combo of chili and garlic. They gave us both blue cheese and ranch upon request. The taco bowl didn't have a lot of flavor that he was expecting. White rice, black beans, tomatoes, lettuce, avocado, and chicken. It was to come with a garlic aioli and it was there just not as much flavor as expected. We took home the leftover wings, green beans, and spring rolls. Nice location. Good service. Have been there several times. Meals were tasty. Prices not too bad. However, like several other restaurants on MV the rising prices are not matching the quality of the food. Ordered a Caesar salad with salmon. Salmon cooked nicely. The salad however was scarce, not fresh Lettuce and very watered down dressing. When asked how the meal was regrets were offered and the check came shortly after. Another MV restaurant that is just too expensive, realizing the times we are in, but not quality preparation. read more

Hi folks, just catching up on my reviews. 9/5/2021, Approximately, 5:45 pm, we came in for an early dinner in the Town Bar. This restaurant appears to be part of the Edgar Hotel. It was wonderful that we were able to get outside seating. Here's what we ordered: Cocktails- Watermelon Sugar High Cocktail was too strong. Entrees- LOVED the Special Sushi Roll "The Propose" . IT WAS AMAZING!!! My friend enjoyed his burger and fries! Dessert- Key-lime Cake was delicious. The only concern we had was service. The blonde female server spent too much time talking with a guy (non customer). Luckily,other servers came by, They were very hospitable and assisted us. (It's too bad other people have to pick up the slack for certain people). Other than this service issue, the food was excellent. A private parking lot is available. 3.5 STARS! read more

We got the ravioli and fried pickles to start. The ravioli wasn't particularly amazing, but the fried pickles were good if a bit oily (I don't typically like pickles, but these were not very picklish; good for me, maybe not for you if you're into pickles). I got the salmon. It was pretty good. The fish is portioned well, but the purée doesn't add much substance so it's on the lighter-fare side compared to other options. The short rib was also pretty yummy, and the mash potatoes that went with it and another dish were a hit (we all tasted them). The rose sangria was not good, obviously made from syrup and was pretty dilute. Service was very fun and it was a beautiful day for outdoor seating. I would come again. read more

Service was great, the place was cute and inviting, but the food was way below par. I ordered the 1/2 roast chicken, with garlic mash and asparagus. Bland, under seasoned chicken, no garlic in the potatoes, but tender nicely prepared asparagus. Companions had fish tacos which also were thumbs down and sushi which got two thumbs up. The manager was grateful for the feedback when we asked to speak to him. He said that the kitchen staff is new and they are working on the menu. Last year it was one of our favorite restaurants. Minus 1 star for the menu and food at the regular restaurant and bar, which is underwhelming. There is a pop up of sorts that serves sushi and Asian fusion. The sushi chef, Andy, is talented and friendly. You'll have a great meal and experience under his care. read more

Absolutely amazing food and drinks with my family on our yearly vacation to the island. The vegetable risotto was easily one of the best dishes I've ever had. Anxiously following Town on social media since early spring. Had a pleasant experience here in early June 2019. The pop influence to the ambiance is something refreshing to see on the island. I love island decor and it's fun to see it well done in other establishments but it also can be overdone, I mean how many ship wheel mirrors can you have? What the town has it's fun pop influenced decor. It's fun to see a Bobs Big Boy statue and a painting that pays homage to West Coast favorite In N Out Burger, there's even a painting that tribute Fluff truly marking this establishment as a New England favorite. The food. It's good. It's traditional gastro pup fare and that's not a bad thing. We had the fried chicken burger that had a sweet and savory flavor. The breading had a great crunch, the chicken was hot yet tender and the side of fries had a great crunch for those who like their fries well done. The crab cakes are two per order and are a decent size for the appetizer. They are served on top of arugula with a peppery remoulade. There could have easily been more of arugula to make this a great salad app. The cakes flavor has a strong bacon flavor that doesn't over power with veggies and bread filler. The cakes had a great flavor but no lumps of grab. The texture was more of a shredded crab and a little less flavor. Kids meals. Cheeseburger and fries. Hand formed burger with great flavor and beef blend. Chicken tenders are hand breaded and you can easily tell not frozen. The breading of the chicken had great flavor. It was my thought that the kids meals come with a Hood ice cream cup but this wasn't offered. In short, Town fulfills a well needed niche on the island as a place that is not too upscale and not simply a tourist trap. There is no better family friendly with great kids food on the island. If you have kids and are on island this is a great stop and a must do. read more

Visited this restaurant last week Saturday. Good food but poor customer service. Each time I go there it is the same bad treatment. They definitely don't like black people. I ordered a sushi roll and they got the order wrong. The manager came to the table and was forced to confirm the error. He said the chef making the sushi did not speak English and there was no one there that day that was able to translate. The replacement roll arrived twenty minutes after my companion had finished his meal and again it was not the correct roll. I asked the manager to take it off the bill. He refused and was rude and even aggressive in his demeanor. read more

I had a really great experience here! I really liked the feel of the place, it's newer and modern. Good ambiance, lighting, decor etc. From the moment we walked in the hostess and manager were very friendly and attentive. We were offered the option to get a drink at the bar as we waited to be seated and told we could transfer it to our table when it was ready. We waited about 10-15 minutes and we were seated at a high top by the window in the bar area. Server was fast to come by, very attentive and friendly too. There were 4 of us, my husband got a burger (which I tasted and it was tender and flavorful), I got the Cali Wrap; was delicious and fresh! My friends split Clam Chowder and the Lobster Scampi (which was a big portion). I did not taste their food but they said it was delicious and devoured it all! I was also super pleased with the beer selection, they had a few different beers than what's common around bars on the island. They had a larger selection than most which I appreciated! Overall I had a great time, at a cool place with good beer and fresh tasty food! I'd say especially for a bar type of environment it is better than most I've tried around town. The fried pickles were good. Sliced coins ,not spears ,so great for sharing and not nuclear hot. The sushi was delicious as always. Yeay Andy! From there things went downhill. The fish and chips were a great disappointment. Multiple people ordered them and each order had fish 2-ways. What's with that?!?! Neither way was a good beer batter. Oddly one way way almost a cornmeal coating. The fish itself was completely different in texture. It was if they gab a piece from 2 different suppliers, one being clearly the cheaper piece. We've been coming to the Vineyard for over a decade at the Town MV is a very welcome addition to the restaurant scene. It is absolutely worth a visit; we've been twice on this current visit the island. * Parking: no place on the island has this much parking, so you can easily show up and park. (Also located next door to Stop & Shop, so you can grab your groceries on way out) * Reservations: yes, they take them if you call at least 30 minutes in advance. They seated our party of 10 with only 1 hour of notice. We got prime seats on teh patio. * Atmosphere: everything is new, the bathroom are super clean, the bar seating is nice, the outdoor patio is great and yes, they have a bunch of TVs in the bar to watch a game. If you don't want to see a TV, the patio is nice spot. * Service: we have been twice and were lucky enough to have Camilla both times, who did an amazing job for us. She knew the menu and drinks (she doubles as bar manager). We also met the managers Tim and Ari, who were attentive and stopped by our table to make sure we enjoyed everything. * Food: there is a bar menu with good sandwiches, burgers, apps and such. All were really good but we enjoyed the fried mac & cheese the most. The dinner menu had a lot more options and the reviews from our large party were the fish/chips, cod blt and pasta dishes were all really good. All-in-all, Town MV offers a lot and is absolutely worth visiting when you are on the island. read more
