Visited last night. We got in a little late to the hotel and the restaurant is attached so we decided to try the food. Great atmosphere and the servers were nice. I ordered a bowl of Clam Chowder and it was very good! I was so hungry I forgot to get a photo sorry but it was a good size bowl. I'm not from this area and not an expert on chowder but it was good to me. I ordered the Baseball Steak rare. It comes with asparagus and sweet potato fries (more like spears). It was excellent! The asparagus and steak had some type of hollandaise/butter sauce and it was awesome! Good bar crowd for a Sunday night if you are into that. Also, just FYI they do have sushi here. I saw a few people ordering it and it looked great as well. Hope this review helps. read more

The Town is a must visit! We stopped in during our annual family trip and enjoyed every minute. The decor is trendy, the venue itself is super clean, and the menu offers something for everybody. Our waitress was wonderful and the kitchen cooked our appetizers at the perfect speed allowing us to enjoy each other's company while we casually sipped cocktails and picked at our appetizers. Our family enjoyed macaroni fritters, pigs in a blanket, Irish nachos with braised beef, and fried pickles. It's tough to say which one was our favorite as the braised beef was TO DIE FOR, the garlic aioli dip for the pickles was addicting, and the macaroni fritters will undoubtedly become a foodie favorite. We were also impressed with their cocktail menu as it clearly makes an effort to go the extra mile for guests looking for a special vacation cocktail that's both affordable and delicious. Our table enjoyed bloody Mary's, a grapefruit Cosmo, and an executive mimosa (Prosecco with ketel citron). Finally we can't say enough about the decor- every corner, wall and alcove gives guests artwork or photography that will make you want to take a closer look. If you're looking for a restaurant that values your business then this place is worth a visit. Great place to enjoy dinner with family or brunch with the girls. read more

The food was very good. The decor and service very good. Only decor issue: chairs very uncomfortable. Being an architect I'm wondering how they were granted a building permit when accessibility laws were not followed. The toilet rooms did not have accessible doors or toilet stall. I noticed they were building an access ramp to the main entrance which needed to be in place when they opened the restaurant. read more

Visited this restaurant on an overnight. The pilot I was flying with had the salmon and deviled egg appetizer. Both were outstanding when I tried it. I personally had the sushi as I am a sushi lover. The dynamic roll was full of flavor in every bite. Highly recommend this roll. I also had a few other rolls which were also very very good. I was treated to fresh bluefin tuna right off the boat, first time they had it. He gave me 2 nigiri and 2 toro nigiri which melted right in your mouth. The service was fantastic and the mixed drinks will quench your thirst. Will definitely visit next time I am in the Vineyard. Highly recommended place to eat. read more

Been going to the Town since it opened. When it 1st opened it was a great spot. Last 2 years it just hasn't been close to what it was when it opened. My son ordered a Steak ($45) that was inedible which is saying something when the boy is a Hungry 13 year old. This was very likely our last time giving them one more chance. Tavern style restaurant with sushi. Nice outdoor seating for warm summer nights. Short ribs and scallops where both delicious. The fish and chips were very salty, too salty for me. read more

Basic 'town' at best. Service was friendly thank goodness. Plenty of beers on tap. Good place to catch a game at the bar but a 40 min wait for food is ridiculous. Truly. Food? Gross. Swordfish tasted old. Quinoa Salad was tiny and lacking any flavor. The table was above an AC vent. Loud as all hell in the back. Hopefully the kitchen perks up for summer. read more

Great new-ish spot uptown. Especially good in the offseason and most people find themselves here. Fried pickles are great, cold beer, etc. Andy, who runs the sushi bar, really knows his stuff! No complaints when it comes to TownMV! read more

We went here recently on a Saturday at 5:30p- was prepared for a long wait but were were able to get a table outside right away. Super prompt and attentive service. Drinks were yummy, calamari was great, sushi was fresh and really well done and my son is still raving about the creamy spicy pasta dish (Cajun??). Have heard horror stories about service on the vineyard this summer but the team here knocked it out of the park. Can't wait to go back!! read more

We have driven past The Grill on Main for years, but never stopped to have dinner there. We never understood why. The new restaurant, Town, made us want to give it some support, so we went there tonight. Despite a flurry of negative reviews (online and word on the street), we figured we would go in with an open mind in hopes of supporting a new venture. We lasted 22 minutes, which was the time between us being seated and the time we left. No one spoke to us once during those 22 minutes. We joked with folks at other tables who had been there long before us. Sorry Town, I am OK with island time and the slower pace. However, at least say hi once in 22 minutes. With so many other choices, it is difficult to see us ever returning. As for the food that we did not sample, we had heard repeated references to this place being like a TGI Fridays, and that definitely seems to be what it looks like. read more

We visited this restaurant for the first time, and were very curtly dismissed by the host. Being a long time resident of Vineyard, it was a surprise to us that the host was unaccommodating to give us a table that was not very small and in a corner, especially with most of the restaurant totally empty. He did say that they were expecting a large party but that it would be well later than when we would have left. Besides the large table group , it was obvious that there were many empty spots that he refused to honor by seating us. I have never experienced such behavior especially when the restaurant should be doing all to be inviting and not have an attitude of " leave if you wish" and during off season. I would hope they change this attitude as we would consider returning. read more

Horrible service! We came in tonight and we're seated right away but upon being seated we realized the table was extremely wobbly and slanted. Our kids crayons were falling off the table and it was moving with the slightest touch. It took us at least 10 minutes to flag someone down to ask for a new table. When we finally got to the new table, another waitress came and told us that it was reserved for someone else. She wanted to seat us at the SAME table we were just at. We said no. She sat us at a high top table that was even worse than the first table. Super wobbly and slanted, which does not work if you have children with you. At this point we had been there for 20 minutes just swapping tables and no drink service or appetizers. Then the waitress had the audacity to tell us there was nothing wrong with our original table, which was a plain lie. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

We had dinner for 4 tonight in mid-December. Very nice atmosphere in the bar area by the fire. For apps we had the fried pickles and gyoza, both were tasty. For entrees we had poke bowls, a steak sandwich, and the shrimp tacos. Everything tasted good, and the portion sizes were decent. Service was quick! I feel it was "on the money" for MV. I also enjoyed their drink menu and always appreciate when a restaurant has fun seasonal cocktails and mocktails. We will be back! read more

We had a great experience at the town last night. The service was friendly and efficient. I had the lobster roll (photo attached--couldn't wait to start eating to take the pic) and it was delicious! It was almost entirely large, good pieces of lobster meat prepared very well with not too much mayo etc. on a lovely buttered bun. We also ordered the burger which was very good and very hearty. Cute ambience, whole restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. Definitely pub food and bit of a limited menu but we had the BEST lobster roll in all of Edgartown. Gave this new place 2 chances (as a seasonal MV resident, I always give the benefit of the doubt) and unfortunately, both times were plagued with bad service (both times my wife and I were there, we waited 45 minutes for an app and about 45 minutes after that for the main courses - I'm talking about wings and burgers here - pretty straight forward). Food and drinks were mediocre - far better places in downtown Edgartown or Oak Bluffs - we won't be returning which is unfortunate as I love to support new restaurants onisland. read more

Came here to watch the Bruins game because I heard it is a good sports bar. I have actually never had worse cocktails in my life. Whatever you do DO NOT order the Refresh or any of the Mules. I would rather drink cough syrup. If you're coming for food or beer I'm sure it's fine but the cocktails are an absolute disappointment. read more

This was our first time dining at the Town and it certainly won't be our last. We had the steamed pork dumplings, the Miss Mango Sushi Roll and the King Island sushi roll. All were delicious! The show stopper was my cocktail, the Infernal Sunshine. It was the perfect blend between spicy and fruity. It was one of the best cocktails that I've ever had. He had the Maple Old Fashioned and the Blueberry Smash which he enjoyed. Make sure you visit the Town, you won't be disappointed. read more

I recently had a Welcome Cocktail Party at Town Bar MV for my son's wedding weekend. It was a big hit with our guests!! We all had a great time. The bar food and Sushi were delicious. The staff that night did an awesome job taking care of everyone! It was the perfect party to kick start the Wedding Weekend festivities. read more

Just left after having a pretty bad meal. Salmon was served with mashed potatoes and spinach and was almost inedible bc of how much oil it was all soaked in and garlic. So much garlic we could barely swallow the spinach. Sushi- I learned my lesson. Don't order sushi from a non-sushi restaurant. Tasted like supermarket sushi but worse. And so expensive I could have cried when I saw the bill. Tuna tasted funky. Didn't eat it. Hoping it was okay. Spider roll had an arm of a crab that looked too small to even be legal to keep. No crab on the inside of the roll, just sticking out the end pieces. And $16! This was so disappointing. Kids chicken fingers were all fried batter and almost no chicken. And three tiny chicken fingers. Pathetic. Service was unfriendly, humorless, and rushed. Our bill was the kicker. We expected it price wise, but we also expected our food and service to be up to par. No drinks, two adult meals and a kids meal (no dessert or apps) came to $100. I will never go back here and would run elsewhere. read more

Waited 40 min for our food and was then told that our order was never entered and we had to reorder. 2 of 5 dishes arrived cold and one undercooked. Also received the 5 th order 5 min after the other order. No apologies. When we went to the manager, he dismissed us and said "what do you want me to do- it's busy". He then laughed as we left the restaurant. We understand that there are help shortages. We understand that mistakes happen. Our issue here is that the mistakes were not acknowledged and there was no attempt to fix it. Obviously the manager thinks he can dismiss customers as there are limited options in Edgartown on a Sunday. read more

Might have been the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. First, they gave away our table to a group behind us. Then we were given dirty plates and we asked our server if he could get new ones, he looked that them and said he will get them later. DIRTY PLATES. Not a speck but red liquid all over the plates. Our last straw before we walked out was when we asked for a beverage and the server said to us that they didn't have it. The decor is fun and a welcome break from a more traditional "beach" or "vineyard" vibe. (Although I wonder if the album cover art obeyed copyright laws...) The service was friendly. My margarita was good. However, I would not recommend this restaurant. The service took a really long time. The entrees trickled out of the kitchen one or two dishes at a time. We had 7 people and the 7th entree was put on the table a full 15 minutes after the first! It was not crowded with plenty of empty tables, and 3 of the 7 people had fish and chips, so big party/busy night were not reasons. To their credit, they took the last entree off the bill and only charged us for 6. The fish and chips were "meh," with mushy fish and underwhelming fries. Two people had the portobello burgers, one had 2 decent sized mushrooms and a lot of bun, the other only had one small mushroom so it was pretty much all bun. Absolutely loved it! I came to this restaurant a lot when it was the grill on main and this was my first time at the Town. I am now very happy with the change. Kim M was our waitress and she felt like family after minutes. She made great recommendations and was so attentive. My family of 5 ate everything and we loved it.
