Amazing every time! Delivery through their app is so fast! The lo mein and spring rolls are my favorite!

I was prepared to love this restaurant, but I was disappointed. To be fair, they just opened a couple of days ago and we got there at the tail end of their rush hour. They had a sign up welcoming customers to their soft opening and asking for constructive criticism. The biggest disappointment was the calamari. It tasted like frozen onion rings. The thick batter was identical to the batter of frozen onion rings. When I bit into the first one, the calamari came out, revealing what a tiny sliver of calamari was inside the thick breading. I would definitely recommend choosing a different appetizer. I like that they have lunch specials which include eggroll, choice of rice, and choice of soup. Dan and I both got Pad Thai with shrimp, egg drop soup, and fried rice. Our grandson got lo Mein with beef, won ton soup, and fried rice. He liked his soup and entree. The egg rolls were a little greasy and we didn't get a sauce for them. We did not like the fried rice. It was dry and had an unpleasant flavor. I couldn't tell what spice I was tasting, but it seemed to belong in an Indian restaurant instead of an Asian restaurant. The dry and underdone texture added to the unpleasantness. Dan and I both love Pad Thai, but we didn't enjoy this. We ordered it around 2:00. It might have been fresher earlier. The sauce seemed too thick and a little sweet. As the sign said, this was a soft opening. I will try them again after they've been open awhile. read more

The Dragon delivers on a lot of fronts. The food is very good with big portions, well balanced flavors, and a nice blend of Asian fusion that somehow works without trying too hard. Service is attentive and friendly, and the decor is honestly a vibe. Imagine a whimsical Japanese street scene crashing into a traditional Chinese home and somehow it all comes together. Now for the bad. I ordered an 8 out of 10 on the spicy scale and got something milder than a Minnesota porno. There's just the faintest hint of heat.Also, the music choice is straight-up confusing. Sitting under delicate umbrellas and flying dragons while listening to graphic hip hop lyrics felt like getting serenaded by Missy Elliot at a tea ceremony. Not a fan. Still, the food and the charm win out. I'd go again. Just maybe with earbuds and a bottle of hot sauce. read more

By their own admission they are in the midst of a "soft opening" and are striving to work out any kinks. Hopefully they will get it done. We were in town to have a birthday lunch with our grandson and he chose The Dragon. Place was packed at 1:30 on a Friday and we heard other patrons raving about their food. We ordered fried calamari and shared it. A bit greasy but ok. Spouse and I ordered the Pad Thai with shrimp. Grandson ordered beef lomein. He pronounced his dish great. We were a little disappointed in the Pad Thai. Our server was busy, harried and scrambling to keep up with all his tables. The place is in a former Red Lobster and has been nicely Asianized with lanterns, parasols and Asian artworks. I'll give them another try next time we're in Stillwater. I won't get Pad Thai again and I won't go in at the tail end of what appeared to be a busy lunch rush. read more

We are visiting from out of state and I looked at a lot of Asian places here and chose The Dragon Asian Kitchen. BIG MISTAKE. I ordered Wonton Soup and Rice Noodle (Char Kway Teow). The Wonton soup was awful! I could swear the noodles were NOT cooked, they were a strange almost grayish color and fell right off the meat. The Rice noodle dish had very very little beef and the pieces in it were so small! There was more niche and egg than beef. The noodles were severely overcooked. It was like mush in my mouth. I clearly chose the wrong place. The only good thing I'll say is when I called they offered a replacement soup. Which I appreciated but I won't have time to get it, I leave OK Sunday. Food was very good. Fresh and well prepared. However, like an earlier review, they struggled to meet the spicy level we requested. The "spicy" basil fried rice was requested at level 7 out of 10. I wouldn't say it was as bland as a Minnesota porno like the previous review, (cracked me right up) but it was NOT spicy at all. Again, fresh, quality ingredients but not spicy. My chicken Panang Curry was closer to the requested 5 of 10. It also was well prepared with fresh ingredients, a little over salty, but still enjoyable. The service was top notch, the prices were inline with what I've seen elsewhere, and the portions were quite large. Other than spicy levels, my only other gripe was that the dinner dishes came out as I was taking my first bite of our appetizer. The decor was trendy and fun - they did a great job of updating what was a tired old red lobster. Bathrooms were updated and clean. We will definitely come back when next we are in Stillwater! read more

Good Chinese is hard to find. I gave this place a shot and was highly disappointed. Order Crab Rangoon as appetizer then Crispy Honey Chicken with fried rice. Crab Rangoon was pre cooked and soggy with little flavoring on the inside. Crispy Honey chicken was the most edible but the fried rice was just flavorless rice tossed in soy sauce. Egg roll was equally unimpressive. Hopefully they can figure things out and find some pride to cook with. read more

The service has always been in great timing, enough time to talk and relax but not long enough to worry where the food is. The overall ambiance is amazing. soft lighting that doesn't glare in your face. Their hospitality is truly welcoming, we didn't really enjoy what we got and they happily recommended other food items. The food was not great, it was okay. The tapioca in the bubble teas had to be at least a day old it was so mushy/crumbly, it was awful I couldn't even drink the Thai tea. Nobody asked how we liked our meal and we really didn't see anyone once the food came out. We wanted to like this place, we liked the old Golden Dragon but this was just not good. Sadly, The Dragon and Golden Dragon are on our no return list. Such a bummer. read more

I wanted to give this place a couple of months before deciding on my review. I went the week that they opened and had the Pad Thai (my absolute favorite dish), saw room for improvement, tried that same dish a few weeks later, and saw the improvement I wanted. I went again yesterday wanting to try something new and WOW am I excited about working through this menu. The service has always been phenomenal! Stanley will take great care of you. Whether you choose to go for lunch or dinner, the atmosphere is perfect, it's apparent that lots of care went into tying the experience to the food. Items I have tried: Egg Rolls (8/10) Malaysian Penang Rice Noodle (10/10) Pad Thai (9/10) Thai Basil Fried Rice (9.5/10) Items I look forward to trying: Yin Yong Noodle, Braised Pork Belly, Hot Pot, Pad Woonsen, Sweet Chili Tofu, and Lemongrass Beef Skewers to name a few. Before trying The Dragon, I kept hearing from my friends that it is just a copy paste of the other Chinese restaurants in town; now that I have tried the food, I can say that this severely undersells what The Dragon brings to Stillwater. There is an obvious intent to include lots of Malaysian influence in the menu. Very excited to have this restaurant in town! Seafood hotpot had imitation crab meat that tasted microwave with crab cakes that had some fish mystery meat in it too. Rice also wasn't great. Food came out and random timings for entire table. Atmosphere was nice, Chinese donuts were good, service was smiling. But the food is simply not good. Maybe better luck with some chicken. read more

So excited to try this new restaurant! Everything was excellent! We ordered edamame and salt and pepper wings for appetizers. Edamame as expected and the wings were crunchy and delicious. My husband got cashew chicken and I had the Vietnamese vermicelli. Both were very flavorful with lots of crunchy vegetables. Service was amazing and the place itself is great. I've been a few times and tried different things each time. The garlic green beans are amazing, and they have great spring rolls. I personally think the meat is chewy (chicken and beef). My boyfriend hated the place and would not go back, but to me it was just okay. It is definitely not my favorite place. I got food delivered, so I can't comment on what the new restaurant space is like, but the food was amazing! We had the eggplant with garlic, shrimp with black bean sauce, and pad thai with tofu, and all were wonderful. Good-sized servings for the price, too. read more
