They are really SO NICE and the food was SO GOOD! We will definitely come back again!

The Monarch has an old school lounge feel, and our server was very attentive. Happy hour drinks are a great deal here! We ordered the mushroom crostini as our appetizer which was good, but the cocktails stole the show. We both had the smoked old fashioned which was amazing. They use Woodford Reserve and don't skimp on the alcohol. I had a passion fruit drink that comes with a shot of champagne as my second drink. It was a tad sweet but quite delicious. My husband had the Fancy Freedom with Templeton Rye, which was also very good. Will be back for happy hour to try the other cocktails. read more

The food at Monarch is delicious and their cocktails never miss. One of our favorite date night spots in Stillwater!

Although our waitress did her best, she was the only waitress serving the entire restaurant. It was a good 30 minutes before we received our cocktails, which were amazing. The food was below average. Two of our entree's were cold. We would only come back for cocktails. read more

We went to The Monarch tonight and it was a fantastic experience. Everyone around us was raving about the food and the atmosphere. We had the charcuterie board which included Sage Derby Cheese (love it), smoked Gouda, salami, apple compote and more. It was a generous size for the price. We also had the Red Snapper with risotto. The risotto was perfect and the snapper was a definite entree to order again. The atmosphere is elegant and upscale. The staff was very friendly, the service was excellent, and the cocktails were on point. This is a fantastic addition to Stillwater! Horrible service !!! Terrible dining experience. Very average food Reservations were at 4:15 and we were ready to order immediately . Waitress kept saying cook was late but was about to walk in the door . Cook didnt show up until 5:45 Meal came at 6:15 after waiting two hours. The manager took off a measly 20. Off a 150. bill . The server was nice and gave good effort. The decor was partly upscale. Food was not good. Our appetizer of breaded shrimp was 3 burned shrimp. They forgot my glass of wine. My Waldorf salad only had grapes, no apples and minimal pecans. So disappointed. Over priced for what was served. The patrons next to us did not like their food either. I have put off writing this review since we started going when they first opened. The first handful of times were great. The vibes were super fun and sophisticated yet warm and welcoming . The service was great and the bartender was so fun and always made special drinks for us. We had been going twice a month until the menu hadn't changed and we were needing a change. The past two months we have gone twice and have had less than stellar experiences both times. I have not seen any of the staff that were there when we first started going, which is sad because it's just not the same. I have recommended this place to many of my friends and bosses. When you recommend a restaurant of this scale to someone they are expecting great service and great quality food, neither of which have been achieved when these recommended people went to dine here. The most recent time we went was for lunch which was new, normally they are only open for dinner. When upon arrival we were the only people there and there was only two menu items available. We were told there was a new chef. It then took 1 hour and 45 minutes for them to make one sandwich. The bartender was polite and kept the conversation going which was nice but waiting that long for a sandwich was disappointing. After this visit we will not be returning. I do still dream about the mushroom crostini but wasn't able to get it the last two times. If you brave the storm going here do yourself and order the mushroom crostini!! read more

I stumbled upon the Monarch just driving by and took my wife for a nice dinner. We just don't have enough nice restaurants in Stillwater and this place had a great feel. I loved the decor and the vibe. We ordered the mushroom crostini appetizer bread and it was delicious. They had a full bar so I ordered a Jack neat and my wife ordered an expresso martini. It was amazing. For dinner, I had the special burger with mushroom cheese bun and it was very good, cooked perfect. It came with a side of truffle fries and homemade ketchup that was absolutely amazing. My wife ordered the tenderloin medium rare and got it medium well. I don't mind paying $46 for a great tenderloin, but how can you have someone cooking a $46 steak that doesn't know how to temp it better than that. More things were good than weren't so I'll try it again, I just doubt we'll order a tenderloin again. No, I didn't complain because it's always a big deal and you have to wait to get it right it just ruins the meal even worse. The service was excellent. Ambiance was good, had private dining room so we could talk and hear what others were saying. The food was not good. I had the ribeye and the sides were good, but the steak was one of the toughest I have ever had, as was the ribeye another one of our party had. I am not one to complain so I did not send it back. Very overpriced at $57.00 for what the quality was. It seems they need to get someone who knows cuts of steak to buy their meat for them. At this rate this place will not be in business very long, which is a shame because other than the Ranchers Club, Stillwater is very void of nice restaurants. read more

Overall shit show. Our waiter was so nice and stressed. We sat for 15 minutes without any water. After 20 minutes we got to place an order and thank god we ordered an appetizer because it would be another hour before our food arrived. Our drinks took almost 30 minutes to arrive, we had to ask for them again. Everyone in the restaurant was asking what was taking so long, clearly becoming agitated. One couple had been sitting without even placing an order for 30 minutes and finally decided to just leave. all of this is fine if the food is delish. BUT THE FOOD IS HORRIBLE. AND COLD. I never received a napkin, my date and I had to share. The "silverware" is so cheap and has paint on it that's chipping off of it. The cocktails were terrible. and on top of that everything is priced THROUGH THE ROOF. The cost is not worth it at all. Good thing there's a hideaway down the street bc you'll have to go there afterward. The food was so terrible we could not even finish it. (ordered fish and filet) read more
