This place seems promising. The atmosphere is inviting. They have large glass windows at the front of the building inviting you into the well lit and open floor plan. Lots of cozy "nooks" to hang out with friends for lunch and still large enough for the late night rush of students that the nearby OSU campus will bring. Fresh, Fresh, Fresh. Their assembly line immediately catches your eye. They have a decent variety of colorful options to build a sushi burrito or poke bowl. They also have about 20 options for sushi rolls. The poke bowl seems to be the most popular option. Fresh, Fresh, Fresh to the point where they let me know that some of the options for protein would be prepared if and when I asked for it. It was good to know that they don't leave food on the line to become stale on the line! I asked the owner to build his "go-to" meal and he set me up with a poke bowl. He started with a sushi rice base and some FRESH spring greens(also a base option) topped with sushi tuna, mango salsa (very good), Kim chi cucumbers (his favorite), edamame, crab salad, and then topped off with spicy mayo and a colorful dash of the brightest orange fish roe! I finished full because the portion was generous. I tried an imported lemonade type drink from Japan and asked for a water cup to have for the fountain. All said and done I paid 13.95 which I felt was reasonable especially considering the drink's price. Friendly people on staff and decent music playing overhead. I will be back and look forward to trying something different. They are open late and even later Thursday-Saturday (2am?). This place is going into my late night or quick lunch slot.
