Stopped on move in day before bringing my son's girlfriend to Logan for her return to Berlin. We tried the burgers, North End for me. Was huge, couldn't finish it, but it was cooked as ordered and delicious. Came with an nice side of Fries. Wife had pastrami sandwich which she said was allright. Julia had the Southwest burger with Avocado, Andrew the fish and chips. All good. Monday is $.35 wing day so we had a dozen. Great Deal! Great local neighborhood bar. The food is really good for a small bar and the back patio is awesome. The staff is super friendly and everything is really inexpensive for the area. Great place to check out a game or grab some drinks with friends. Get's a bit busy with the college crowd on the weekends but that just goes to show how popular of a place it is. This is my favorite Allston/Brighton bar. If you ever are looking for a chill and fun night out this is your spot. They have an AWESOME patio with a bar during the summer. Their drinks are reasonably priced and I love the bartenders. On the weekends they usually have a pretty good DJ and small makeshift dance floor. They also have a pool table, computer games, Big Buck Hunter and Darts. The food is at best a B- but hey, it's a local bar so I am not expecting much. The biggest problem with the bar is the ladies bathroom. You're lucky if the doors have locks that work and if the entire toilet is actually put together....don't even think about TP. Upgrading the bathrooms would be a HUGE help. read more

WHAT? that is cheaper than any of the beers alone I get in most bars in Boston. for that, they get 3 stars. I met one of the owners 'Derek' who had complete control of the bar with 2 other servers/bar tenders. Great vibes in that place every time I go in with people, groups BTW (2-15)...juke box, pool table, darts, comedians, magicians and food deals that with have you thinking of the bar any time you're in Allston/Brighton. Their 35¢ wings on Sunday and Monday is a hit in the area with a choice of many flavors including, 'coopertown' that makes my mouth water; paired with a nice cold Blue moon draught is the best combo. I was introduced to place a while back when my cousin insisted we go in one night; one of the best decisions we could make. At some point I did a no carb diet that went to s*** when I hadddd to order their freshly baked cookie. Takes 30mins because they bake them to order, welllll worth my cheat! Great place to get a nice cold one and enjoy someone's company. Their out door patio in the back during the summer is a treat. Complete with umbrella tables and a full bar/TVs. $0.25 wings all day Sunday and after 6pm on Monday. This place is where you go in Allston Village to get your chicken fix for cheap. The downsides are the beer selection, which is adequate, but doesn't stack up to Sunset or Big City right down the street. And, their service -- The bartenders/servers are overworked, or just don't care much. My roommate and I have been in there 6-7 times and they don't even say wassup or act like they've ever seen us. Welcome to the worst bar in Allston. This place prides itself on Thursday nights which is a complete joke. If you enjoy being in an overcrowded room with a bunch of 18 year olds then this is the spot for you. After having your license looked over 4 times by the bouncer you will be invited to a small overcrowded central area (I admit that I haven't been on the outside deck so this may be incomplete) and then start off on a battle to get to the bartender, only to find out that the dollar drafts are gone. Sidenote: if you weren't coming there for the dollar drafts you are a fool because you just walked by TITS. Not worth the wait or the hassle if you happen to drive there. read more

Back deck is awesome! Gotta say this place was better than I had expected. Plenty of good beer choices, all of your standard Bud/Coors choices of course, plus your middies like Sam and Sierra. I do wanna mention that they have Downeast Cider on tap because I know that's a big perk for the gluten-free/g-free crowd. I personally didn't eat anything but a couple buddies got sandwiches and they were impressed. I love The Draft!! I live in the neighborhood and have been coming in for years. The owners are always around and taking care of customers. Great draft beer selection. The food is GOOD too, it's not always the case with pubby places. Particularly the Cajun chicken sandwich, and they have the best sweet potato fries in town. The outdoor patio in the warmer months is a friggin oasis. Get there early though because spots go quickly! I will forever be a fan of this place. Great neighborhood spot. read more

I usually go here on the weekends to have drinks. The staff are nice and they have a DJ playing music (could be more up to date with the music)..Usually weekends this bar gets turned into a mini bootleg club lol. People dancing on the floor around the pool tables and on the small stage. Kind of crowded inside with all the college students but at least there's no long line like White Horse or Tavern in the Square. I went here on a weekday after a job training nearby and I experienced a completely different atmosphere. Much more casual and relaxing with few people. They have a patio and fireplace in the back with a bar where people can smoke. Every day they have a food special, some come with a beer. I've tried the pulled pork sliders and it was OKAY. I've only come here when they have a special. but dang are their special's good! I'm mainly taking about their wing's special. It used to be 25 cents per wing, but now it's $35 cents (you must order a group of 6 wings). As an avid wing eater, these are pretty good for 35 cents. Their flavors are really good, and I usually end up eating 18 wings and I also get a beer, which comes out to around $10-12. Good deal, and the staff is really nice too! If it wasn't for the disgusting customer service this place could of easily gotten 5 stars. My friends and I ordered food that took forever to come out. When the waitress would come out looking confused with food that looked like it was ours we asked if she was looking for us and she very rudely replied no this isn't yours. When our food finally came out my friend and I has just walked out the bathroom and the same rude waitress placed our food on someone else's table so we told her our table was in the back and then she told us that we can take it over ourselves. That's not half of what happened that night but I hope it's enough for you to decide on another location for a good time. read more

The food is okay and the beer is cheap but the service is terrible. I waited for 20 minutes once I got to my table for someone to come over and no one did. I could see the waiter/bar tender sitting on his phone and made eye contact with him on multiple occasions. When no one came over after 20 minutes I finally left. After giving this bar a second chance, the service was still very bad and no one tended to my table. On both occasions, the restaurant was completely empty. Also the trivia is stupid. read more

I went here for the 1st time lastnight. My boy works here so had to stop by & show sum luv... Cldn't believe this place used to be the Kinvara back in the dayz LOL!!! It was a little crowded, but the music was good...actually on point with the old school 90s reggae. Came here cause the crowds at Tavern in the Square were so hugh for the Bruins game. This place was at a totally different pace. Plenty of room, you could hear the game, and the server was very attentive. It started to pick up around 11, but by then, teh game was over and we were moving on. I'd call it a good dive bar. Not nearly as clean as Tavern on Sqare, but a great place to watch the game. read more

This review is for lunch/early dinner service only. I have not been here during late nights. This is the closest bar to my apartment, and I avoid it like the plague. With so many other places to go with similar prices and atmosphere, why settle for mediocrity? The food is consistently a big pile of mush. The only good thing on the menu are the french fries. Service is slow, it's hard to get anyone's attention and the tables/bar have a sticky grime to them. If you go to watch a sporting event, don't. The TVs are very oddly placed. For example: at a table of four, only two of you will be able to watch the game. A positive is the back patio. It's spacious, sunny and very comfortable. However, when you ask if it's open - be prepared for a snide answer. The place has a lot of potential for the lunch/dinner service, it's just too bad they don't do anything about it. I have never gotten my wings out in under an hour which means the savings are wiped away by ordering more and more beer as the night drags on. I used to go here for Wednesday night trivia that was run by a friend of mine. Needless to say this place still packs in a huge college crowd on weekends, so it's still doing a good job from what I can see. The bartenders are nice and still quick with their service. I'd recommend staying out of the stall in the bathroom unless you need to yackety yack. The mixed drinks are still big and strong, which is a good sign, and their shots are still potent. In a move typical for the Allston area, The Draft (as it is currently known) is a student hangout that has evolved from a more traditional Irish pub. While there is a wing night and bar menu, the emphasis on nightlife at this bar is evident, and reinforced by college night specials such as $1 Rolling Rocks on Thursday nights, and always low-cost PBRs. The best part about the Draft, weather permitting, is the outdoor patio, featuring a fire pit to one side and an additional bar, which is also effective in evenly distributing the crowd (especially on Thursdays) throughout the venue. There is a pool table and Big Buck Hunter for slower evenings, and the stage located in the back corner turns into a makeshift dance floor on the busy ones. Another perk to this bar is that they have a parking lot (shared with the adjacent hardware store) to accommodate the nightlife, a rarity in Allston. read more

This place is a crusty dump. The black pepper chicken wings are delicious, but females- steer clear. The owner consistently harassed me (breathing down my neck, following me in the bar, asking me to "marry and come retire with him") every time I wanted to come get a drink and mind my own business, so I won't be back. Great outdoor area. Excellent bartenders who like to get to know you if you've been in a few times. The music is good and some good live bands play there once in awhile. The Draft serves four dollar lunches on weekdays -- best french fries in town, hands down. The burgers are good and the bar has a lot of good dark beer on tap. Why only three stars? The people. A lot of the tattooed Allston riff raff comes through. Many customers epitomize the "gruff" Boston stereotype. That said, it's a great place for a "Sunday FunDay" when the weather is warm, and the food is "plus." read more
