It is ok the smaller side, so I would arrive slightly early if you would like good viewing of a specific game; however, there is TVs throughout the small-ish space. I ordered the cheese curds to munch on, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that they were some of the best cheese curds I've had. The breading wasn't thick like most, just an ultra thin layer. Added fresh jalapeños. And for dipping it was a ranch-styled sauce. So SO good ! I had a local, canned beer to drink. Service was good and it gave off a local/community vibe since the bartenders seemed to know who the regulars are. I will definitely be back! I typically don't drink cocktails at this sort of establishment, but the White Russian 2.0 has perked my interest. If the food is that great and it's only $13 for a cocktail... I'll be back to give it a try.

Whenever I pass by the Draft (formerly known as Kinvara), I can't help but think of Tara Reid. Let me explain. It's hard to believe now, but there was a time when Tara Reid could be appreciated in her own way, like during the American Pie years. She was never anything special, but she gave off a kind of casual yet wholesome sluttyness that was appealing. I mean, she was willing to blow that needy little dork in the movie, so most guys were kind of drawn to her based on some basic perception of attainability. If you'll allow me to stretch the limits of this metaphor, replace American Pie-era Tara Reid with a bar, and replace her casual sluttyness with cheap beer and a lax ID policy, and you'd have the Kinvara. But then everything went to shit. Somewhere along the way, Tara got a big head and decided that she needed a few upgrades. First she got eating-disorder-thin and looked like she started sleeping in tanning beds. (This would be the Kinvara's change in ownership, name switch, and decor 'upgrades'). But she didn't stop there. She went on to obtain what may well have been the worst boob job known to man, made worse by the fact that her drunken, cracked out self could rarely keep that doggie chew toy of a chest inside the confines of her clothing. (I would equate this phase to the Draft's new desperate weekday lunch promotions offering cheap food and...beer? During the middle of the day. During the middle of the week. Exactly who the hell are they trying to attract? The Avenue's loyal dirty old man population?) In short, Tara Reid and Kinvara both had their own kind of appeal when they knew their place in life. But as soon as they both became filthy upgrade-obsessed status seekers, all of the things that made them somewhat appealing in the first place just disappeared. These days, you couldn't pay me (or anyone else I know) enough to bang Tara Reid. Why would I when I could have Zooey Deschanel (Common Ground) instead? read more

i love the draft on weekdays. weekends i will go there but eh...too crowded and sometimes there are definitely underage biddies. but the burgers are great and the service is good. prices are great! normal. beer is like $5 and big drinks are $8-$9. much better than the surrounding places that will try to charge $10 for a tiny mixed drink. the giant stereotypical boston jocks manning the door and bar are actually sweethearts but will absolutely drag a drunk douchebag out if he gets too obnoxious. ladies, you'll never feel unsafe in here! the super skinny blonde woman at the bar has permanent bitch face and makes weaker drinks than the rest of them...i'd try to get a giant jacked man to get your drink instead unless you're having beer. this bar is good if you want to have fun and eat some good food and actually hear the people you came with. the way it's laid out causes a divide so the annoying drunk assholes stay on one side near the dance floor area and the normal bar people are on the other side at the bar. don't know if that was intentional, but it works well. pro tip: if you're a woman, always check for TP before using the bathroom. it's always empty. the pool table is also great and people are usually pretty nice about letting you call next game. the darts are so close to the bar i sometimes feel like someone will commit accidental manslaughter while playing but i guess it hasn't happened yet so it must be alright. overall, the draft is a confusing mix of dive and sports bar but it works and fits into the allston neighborhood nicely. it could be better, but it's a bar in allston so come on...i think it's perfect the way it is. one of my favorite allston spots. read more

How many douche bags can you pack into an Allston bar... well if you frequent the Draft after 12am chances are you cant count so it doesnt matter. There are very few places I dont have a good time frequenting, I can have fun pretty much anywhere but this place is reminiscent of the holocaust museum or some place that forces you to look face to face at the worst part of humanity... Its not so much that I despise this place as a venue because it is spacious and could be a good spot but this place draws the lowliest of patrons. I have "friends" who hit this pub up at least once a week or every two because its open later then most and I often find myself going with them but for me its more to watch the train wreck that is low level human interaction. If you hit this pub up on the weekend, you will find yourself physically forcing your way threw a crowd of meat heads and drunken slues. Just to get to a bar with a very standard beer selection, cocktails that are poorly mixed and employes that for the most part reflect the patrons and come off in an arrogant or pissed off manner serving drinks as if it was slave labor but I dont want to be too judgmental on the bar tenders, I would hate my life and not be able to smile and be cheerful if I had to work here every weekend as they do.. So on a bright note this bar is open until 2 which is nice for late nights but unfortunately if you come here and enjoy it you will have to come to the self realization that chances are you are an asshole or a slue.. read more

Trans phobic/homophobic BAR! The bouncer is a black man and thinks he's superior because he got a job at a WHITE bar. Man, you a sell out!!! This place is a joke ! Story time... myself and 2 friends, 1 being transgender were attacked on 10/24. All 3 of us were enjoying a night at our table when TWO men decided to buy my trans friend a drink. The bouncer felt the need to tell those guys, my friend was a trans woman because of her ID. Those men decided to confront us outside because they were upset they bought a trans woman a drink. We were sitting at our table minding our business, when these drinks were delivered. These men decided to have them delivered to my friend not knowing her status. She didn't even get the chance to tell them because she didn't even know what was happening. The bouncer felt the need to tell these men my friend was trans. Legit could have got us seriously hurt or killed. Also, the bartender white girl, long blonde hair who said she wasn't the manager. But when we called said she was the manager.... said my trans friend had caused problem on 10/23 Friday. But we have receipts/tickets/videos showing she was not in BOSTON! She's a liar. I called 14 times after, I called the police because we were being harassed outside and they ignored my calls. We almost were badly hurt or may have lost our lives because of a bouncer. DO NOT GO HERE if you are LGBTQ+ This establishment is very sexist and homophobic towards their patrons. They tend to single out and target gays and trans. I used to be a regular here and the bouncers always had some kind of homophobic slur they just had to announce. over the summer a trans woman was targeted and called out just for for being her true self. I have many gay friends who have told me they have felt threatened by the staff because of their sexual orientation. I went to the draft this previous weekend (Saturday February 20, 2020) I was greated by the door staff who then decided that him and his boys would surround me and threaten me in a homophobic fashion. they threatened to hit me but wouldn't do so as I "would call the police and say it was a hate crime." and then I was pushed to the ground by an ignorant homophobic asshole and the door staff did nothing. I was then inside and kicked out because I was dancing with another female. I know in these covid times, standing is not aloud, but I danced with this girl as I was walking outside and the bouncer aggressively kicked me out in an unprofessional manner, letting the other girl who was also dancing, stay. The bar staff is always friendly but for some reason EVERY bouncer they hire has some kind of hit list on every LGBTQ+ person that enters the establishment. AGAIN!! For an establishment this day in age to be accepting of discriminatory behavior by their own employees puts a new twist on UNSAFE. For many years The Draft has held a spot in the heart of Allston but it seems like their time should come to an end; sooner rather than later. At this establishment it is clear that customer boundaries are of no concern for the staff or management in place. Not only have I observed the clear violations of COVID-19 guidelines for business to be operating but The Draft also allows human rights to be completely violated. If you plan to dine or have a drink here you must be aware that your personal information, gathered by bouncers at the door, will most likely be shared against your will to anyone and everyone the staff feels so inclined to share it with. Please remember, before going to The Draft, that your address, full name, date of birth & even ID numbers will most likely be given out to other customers/non-customers by the staff. If I were you I'd stay clear away from such a place. There is no room for violators of human rights in Allston, no where in the world actually. Be advised. Stay safe and stay away. read more

So I went there on a Tuesday night to grab a quick drink with friends. We ordered no food, because it was pretty late and grabbed our drinks from the bar. The bartenders were having an attitude for no reason, so I didn't feel like leaving them 20% tip for making the drinks. Guess what? They added on top of the tip I left them, the difference up to 20%. The event and host were cool and I like they had a few TV's to watch the game. However when I ordered a burger and fries it was bland. The fries were soggy, the burger bun was much bigger than the burger. My standards are not the high for bar food and it felt like not a lot of effort or love went into it. I'm not sure if there was a shortage of burger patties or something, but it's not a good look for their food at all. Also, I had to order the food on the servers portable cash machine, which is unacceptable. I've been here before and they had menus, not sure what happened that night, but still not a good look. I'm not completely writing Savor Lounge off, they usually draw a cool crowd and the servers are nice too.

The nightclub is no longer Rain but now Mixx 360. And now there is a sports bar in between. As the name suggests, it is sort of an upscale sports bar, but still accessible to the general public in terms of price. This place may not have the widest selection in terms of food and beer, but it does have one of the best in terms of quality of selection. It is good with the seasonal beer. Sams Octoberfest on tap, plenty of Shipyard Pumpkinhead bottles. Also they have the mainstays like Bud and Bud light. But even better than that, they have Yuengling, Blue Moon, Wachusett Blueberry, and Strong Bow cider, amongst other beers. For food, I ordered the boneless buffalo wings and the lobster rangoons. You can't find lobster rangoons at most other places and this appetizer makes the place special. The buffalo wings were very big. Besides pizza and burgers, I noticed they have philly cheesesteak rolls. That is an item I will try next time and I thought that was a smart option to put on the menu since it is hard to find good cheesesteak nowadays. For a sams Octoberfest on tap, Shipyard bottle, buffalo tender and lobster rangoons, my total came to about 27 dollars. I have to say that in its entirety I enjoyed my meal very much. The atmosphere is great. It is not your average sports bar. You can tell they put a decent amount of money into it. It is not huge, but the actual bar seats about 30 people, which competes with most other sports bars in the 5 mile area. The service is good and I will be back. It is a great place to watch the Patriots unfurl another banner or to watch Big Papi hit his 500th homerun.
