The A-OK rating for this bar is pretty spot-on. There is nothing out of the ordinary at this place except the awesome $5.99 Burger/ Sandwich & Fries & Any beer deal on Tuesday nights. I used to go to the draft about a year ago and always had a good time. Recently I was at a bar "common ground" and one of the doors guys from the draft was there and me and him met and where talking then he took one of my jokes the wrong way and dragged me outside and showed me that he took his authority a little to seriously. Good thing for the kind citizens outside our I would have been in a bit of trouble. Long story short their bouncer are running around town acting like fools with a "crown" and letting everyone know where they work and how they act. read more

Great place! This past weekend was my 30th bday and I was looking for a place to host my friends and family. I have been to the draft many times in the past and really enjoyed their patio. I approached Raji the manager and asked him if it were possible to have my party there. He was more then happy to have us. The food was great as always and the service was on point. And yes, the WC is vile, no - more than vile, they should just let u piss at the bar. It's not hung up on puritan moral issues, let's put it that way. So it's actually more Boston city than Boston cheese. Staff is pleasant and , dare I say nice. The food is only okay -- with so many other solid restaurants in the area it really makes no sense to go here for food. They have decent deals, but they nickle-and-dime you the whole time. Plus, the service is terrible. My waiter couldn't explain what one of the sauces on the wings were, and wouldn't find out (that's after having said he had never / would never eat there.) The draft is slightly average, at best. The customer service -- especially the manager -- is pretty horrific. They really have no concern for anyone's needs (whether it's a special order, question about the food or problem with the bill.) Combine that with only average food and you have a pretty below average place. read more

This place is a crusty dump. The black pepper chicken wings are delicious, but females- steer clear. The owner consistently harassed me (breathing down my neck, following me in the bar, asking me to "marry and come retire with him") every time I wanted to come get a drink and mind my own business, so I won't be back. Racist much? I hardly write reviews, but I felt especially inclined to after just leaving this place on Friday 8/19 @ 6:30pm. I heard about this bar from a coworker who is local to the area. I walked in expecting it to be as slow as it was for this early on a Friday evening. I sat at the bar and waited at least 10 minutes before 1 of the 4 bartenders/servers even acknowledged me. (There were literally 3 other customers at the bar INCLUDING myself) After interrupting their conversation, I asked for my Brooklyn Lager. What really disturbed me was that a minute later a white alternative style man came in and was acknowledged and served automatically. Followed by another couple, and another white man at the bar. After finishing my first beer and watching how attentive and kind they were to the other people at the bar I started to feel as though they intentionally were ignoring me. I'm a host and a friendly smiling black female with a full sleeve of tattoos. I didn't not expect being treated like anything less than a paying customer coming here. While I waited for one of the 3 bartenders at this point to acknowledge my empty beer glass and ask for another, I realized I was NOT welcome. I quickly downed my second Brooklyn, tipped 20% as customary and walked out without a word being said to me by anyone. Pretty sad, especially when Allston is such a progressive and diverse neighborhood. I wouldn't recommend this place to people of color unless you are accompanied by someone who is not! read more

I ordered a take-out dinner from here on doordash. I waited an hour before someone from doordash called and told me that when the driver got to the restaurant, they were informed they don't take orders on doordash anymore. I just recently moved to Boston from New York and have yet to switch over to a Massachusetts ID. I was denied access to the bar because the bouncers thought my New York ID was fake. I offered to give them my insurance card as well as a debit card. They did not look at them. They told me to leave and that my ID was a fake. I am 24 years old and have never had an issue with my ID in any state. My friends and I will never be returning to this bar and will recommend other bars in the area. I am truly disappointed with their service and disrespectful demeanor. My friends and I had a great time at White Horse Tavern and would recommend you go there instead. read more

I stopped by this place when I was walking by to look at the menu. I was surprised that the prices were so low and I wanted to try. I mentioned it to my boyfriend, and we went few days later. And we were really glad we did! The food was great. On Tuesdays, they have specials, where you can get a melt sandwhich or a burger, and a beer for $5.50! How good of a deal is that? To add good service to this place and a fun atmosphere makes it just a place to go to. This place deserves recognition. It may throw off a few people, but it's one of those places that you have to come to once or twice to really draw appreciation from it. At first, it looks like your typical dive bar. Small place. Douches galore. Awkwardly placed pool tables. Awkwardly placed darts area. Obscure arcade games. But what makes this place stand out is the price of the drinks (very well priced), the drinks themselves (this place doesn't water them down like most bars in the area), the service is always on time, and there is a patio to enjoy the summer air at! If you find that you don't mingle with the kids over at Kel's, not feeling the Whitehorse, don't feel like hearing a garage band play at Harper's Ferry, don't feel like smoking hookah at the Nile, don't feel like eating hot pot at Shabu Zen, and don't really care for Sunset's numerous tapped beers, then step off the Comm. This bar used to be my favorite burger place in Allston and I used to come all the way from waltham to enjoy a good patty. Not anymore. Order a burger cooked at medium and it came burned and overcooked. Returned the Burguer and I was given another one that was not burned but not cooked at all. Medium is medium!! Hands down, the worst service I have ever experienced. We waited at least 25 minutes for a waitress to approach our table and ask for our drink order; the waitress walked away after my friend ordered a pitcher even though she was still talking and wanted to order more. So rude it was bizarre. We waited another 20 minutes for the pitcher to arrive. We ordered wings and pretzel sticks; 30 minutes later, wings were presented by another server. Despite multiple attempts to catch the eye of any employee, no one ever approached our table for us to be able to ask for the pretzels we had ordered. Complete waste of an afternoon. read more

Worked directly across the street when it was the Kinvara and have had occasion to go more than a few times since it changed owners and names. Good liquor selection, and good food, but it's definately more of a lunch place for eating. Live music, and Juke Box with the occasional DJ. Owner is a great guy, and bartenders are cool dudes. Ohhhh the Draft how much I love you, how badly I wish I lived in Brighton to be right next to you...actually that would probably be a terrible life decision. I go to so many bars struggling to find something on draft I want but at the Draft I have a hard time deciding between multiple choices. Leinenkugel Sunset Wheat? Harpoon Cider? BBC Steel Rail? Oh man..I love hard choices like that. Thank god the wings are a no brainer. Sun and Mon 25 cent wings and the Cooperstown flavor is out of this world. How to describe something so delicious? I try to compare it to the 99's goldfever sauce for newbies but that is almost an insult to the scrumptious flavor that is Cooperstown, the wings are big too not tiny lame things most places serve for wing deals. I love the casual vibe of the bar. I love playing the game where you have to find the difference in pictures of half naked woman. I love the friendly bartenders. I love Cooperstown wings. I love frosty cold cold delicious mugs of Steel Rail. When it's nice out the back patio is my own little piece of heaven on earth with the outdoor bar, lights, and tvs. I also love that I had my first ever breakfast shot here (jameson&butterscotch schnapps with a sip of oj after) syrupy deliciousness. I finally got my Woburn friends to head into The Draft after brunch at Tavern in the Square for Sunday Funday this past weekend and cant say I was suprised when they all loved it as well. Good food but awful staff and the place is usually filled with 18 year olds most of the time

I came here the other night with my woman. The bar itself, is just that, a bar. One thing I liked about it was that the bartenders were mostly dudes. I've had better luck with guy bartenders, because they have to be charismatic in order be good at their job and they are heavier-handed with the alcohol. The one thing I liked was the fact that one of them gave my girl a free beer after charging $8.25 for a whiskey that was supposed to be $5.00 and double charges us on another drink. When she called them out on the mishap, the bartenders quickly fixed the issue without being jerks about it. However, the dude serving us when it happened was busy on his phone when were trying to fix our bill. As far as music goes, I good DJ would be awesome if the music is eclectic. The trivia night was okay, but needs some modifications. Believe it or not, the wings were actually well done and super crispy. The bartenders are pretty cool. But you can tell they are not used to serving older patrons. Come here for beer and chill on the back patio and have fun. The nachos were not bad either. The Draft also wins points for affordable quality beers. For where the place is and for what it is, it is great. read more

Me and my buddies frequent the draft a lot, not because its the best, not because the crowd is the best, but for the fact that its not either of those. It is always consistent: there will never be a ridiculous line, you always get in, its hard to get kicked out, getting a drink doesn't make you go "what the flip!?!", and no one really bothers you. When you're with a bunch of friends and you just want to go out but really just chill with each other, the draft is the perfect place in my opinion. Its sort of like hanging out at a second home, a dingy second home that plays terrible radio hits =). read more

Went there on Friday night before starting our long Fourth of July weekend. The food is great for a dive bar! The patio is enormous (by far the best in Allston) and because it was packed, we decided to sit inside at the bar. Our bartender was very personable and she was absolutely hysterical! She made a couple of great recommendations off the menu and when we said the typical "surprise me" when ordering a drink she knocked it out of the park! Once the evening rolled on it filled up with your average college bar atmosphere but if that is your scene I would highly recommend it! read more

I went there for the first time on a Monday night because my boyfriend wanted to try their 25 cent wings. We ordered a beer each and wings. About 5 minutes after we ordered we saw a pitcher if beer going into the kitchen and then no food came out for about 25 minutes. 45 mins after we ordered we still did not get our wings. The bartender who was serving us wad deliberately avoid eye contact with us, and another bartender finally came up to tell us that the food was coming. I'm really not sure why wings would take 50 mins to make when the place has a special. There were also other people who weren't getting their food. I give them 3 stars because when the wings finally did come, they were pretty good. read more
