After the very disappointing cheeseburgers at Five Guys Burgers...I had to try a burger from a place that puts its name on the burger. The Draft Burger from...you got it...The Draft Bar and Grill in Allston, is exactly what the doctor ordered. A delicious thick burger with fresh crisp toppings that will help you recuperate from any previous "less than favorable" food experiences. Lets not forget the fries...the perfectly seasoned fries. They were crisp, fresh and flavorful. The fact that the burger bun did not look like it was run over by Gabriel Iglesias made that burger hold its own. The Draft is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to enjoy lunch on work days. They got plenty of TVs to catch the games and a few pool tables to kill some time...and they practically have live music every night. I've celebrated my 21st through 25th birthday at the draft. It held a special place in my heart - until yesterday, when the bouncer told me my REAL MASSACHUSETTS ID was fake, told me to leave, and refused to give me back my ID. This made me realize what a **** hole it really is!! Anyways, when I told him the cops were on the way BECAUSE HE REFUSED TO RETURN MY ID, he threw it on the sidewalk and told me even if it were real he wouldn't let me in. Talk about a power trip! I've never been discriminated against before and will never return to this place because of it. Did I mention I didn't have one sip of alcohol at the time? So he was legitimately discriminating against me! Five minutes later, I walked into Big City, which has a far better beer selection, less "bros," and THE nicest bouncers. I was politely allowed to do business with them and since It was my best friend's 26th birthday I spent a lot of money (which the Draft missed out on since they can't hire competent employees). I used to like coming here but today just proved that this place is not worth coming back to. Two other friends and I came in hardly being acknowledged and had to keep staring at the bartender to come to our table. She came there got our drinks and left. She took forever to come back to grab our food order. When we got the food she didn't even say a lick to us. Other people came in and got attention right away. I don't usually think about race as a factor but I definitely think this was the case. She never came to ask how our food was and couldn't even smile at us for that matter. I never saw her again after she left the bathroom and had to call over someone else to grab our check. Thanks but no thanks. I came here on a Thursday night. My friends made it a little before me, so I was chatting with another girl in the short line outside. They card her. Apparently she was underage and her ID was taken. I then try to give them my ID (which is real, because I'm 22, lol) and the bouncers SCREAM in my face saying "we're not letting you in!" And I'm like, what??? And they're like WE DONT CARE WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY, YOURE NOT COMING IN! I'm just standing there, so befuddled. Head bouncer then YELLS at me "don't try to bring underage people in here" and I'm like "wh-" I get completely cut off by them as they continue to scream in my face. I give up on trying to go in and I just try to alert my friends that they won't let me in, but they weren't looking at their phones. I reapproach the door to try to explain the situation once more and they proceed to forcibly slam the door in my face. This is THE most preposterous experience I have EVER had at an establishment in my entire life. read more

Hello! I been a loyal customer of this place. Every-time I get a tattoo done across the street I come here for drinks and food after. For the most part I always enjoy my experience, however, today (3/28/21 at 4:40PM) I came in and ordered nachos. When the nachos arrived everything was cold (was looking forward to the melted cheese) and there was no melted cheese, but instead a cold salty cheese sause that I did not enjoy. I kindly asked my waiter if I could replace my order with something different because I didn't have a liking to the cheese sauce (I only ate 2 chips from the large serving) he continued to explain to me that he can take it away but I'll be charged for it. I was confused as to why I'd be charged for something I only took a bite of and didn't like. He proceeds to make out with his girlfriend in front of the restroom making me extremely uncomfortable. Yea. SO.... walked in and took a one way trip to d bag ville. Popped collars. Extra medium shirts. It was like cookie cutter people. "Hey Dan C... Are we in Fanuil Hall?!? How did this happen?!" I give it two stars because the drink I had was pretty delish and the bartender got to us right away. The patio closed at midnight which reaks... cuz its the one of the things that makes this place bearable... cigs and drinks at the same time. That said, I had a drink bought for me and I couldnt stand to stay in the bar surrounded by such awfulness long enough to finish it. I mean, I am not one to leave a wounded soldier (especially a Jameson flavored soldier) but I had to cut my losses and get to steppin. Their patio is super nice to chill considering they are the only place to stay open till 2:30 over there as of now. love the food, always there most nights a week. unfortunately, the service was awfully shitty on sunday july 19 2020, BARTENDER was drunk on the clock. she was NOT the only bartender, she brought me disgusting wings, soggy, not even the right flavor, clearly had waited outside, didn't check up, the busboy or the other team member didn't do their job(even though they asked if we needed anything). she was deliberately FIGHTING my friend about the bill claiming she took our drinks bc she thought we "left" for 45 minutes in reality we were outside smoking for 10 minutes. she overcharged for our drinks, but the best part of this shit show was SHE TIPPED HERSELF after we solidly didn't leave a tip because the service was shitty and they had a major attitude for no reason. It wasn't even busy!!!! called back the next day and complained but all we got was "my manager is in tomorrow and we are sorry". FOR SOME REASON THE RECEIPTS WERE MISSING the next day, no manager, no call, nothing. honestly, at least keep the promises you make with your customers who complain something about serious. the last time i checked this is legit fraud. the whole crew is a joke, from the bouncers to the bartenders. good luck !!!! read more

Neither do I, and that's how I ended up at The Draft. Friday night around 10 p.m., we walked right in, and guess what: Ke$ha was blaring. KE$HA! I knew it would be a good night. There was a decent selection of beers, all $5, apparently some food specials too, and Buckhunter. I killed some elephants. IMHO, the DJ was incredibly awesome here. It was all pop, but it was all the pop you want: Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Katy Perry, good old stuff, old poppy rap I can't remember but I can sing to. I went so far as try to figure out who the DJ was from The Draft website, but who am I kidding, it was The Draft website. I can only hope that he's a Friday night regular. read more

I am very disappointed because this has been one of my go-to wing places since I moved here. I've never had great service but the wings were great so I let it go, but today I could not.my brother and I were given menus and then had no one return to our table for over 15. After needing to go up to the bar to ask if we could order, we placed an order for 2 ginger ales and 20 wings. We never got our drinks and waited over an hour for our food while watching other people, who had gotten there after us, get their food. When we would approach employees about our drinks/food, they would let us know they were on it and send us back to our table, with no follow though. Worst service I've had in a long time read more

So last night my friend and I went to this bar. Noone sat us down and we sat ourselves. After a long day of work I'm sure many of us would like a nice beer and wings to enjoy. The host got us our order of beers. When we told him we wanted to order, he said he would send a waitress. They walked by us more than 4 times ignoring us probably because we were minorities. Mind you there was only 2 other tables to serve. We finished our beers and still got no service. When we brought it to their attention, they acted like we never told them. Dear god. Wednesday night = trivia night, where the place will be filled - as in good luck moving anywhere without bumping into 5 other people - with cliques of BC students. The Wednesday night thing for all the stereotypical undergrad party-ers at BC is to go to trivia here (though lately the Green Briar has been more of "the place") then go to the Kells. It's terrible. They do get an second star because the prizes (for1st-3rd place I think) is a gift certificate to The Draft. I think first is $50, which is pretty awesome. Trivia nights have scarred me so much that I would never even consider coming here on another night. read more

Gave this place another try, lured by their delicious wings. Service was much better. Sat out on the back patio around 7 on a Monday evening, and it was fabulous. I love that you can get any of their array of draught beverages in a pitcher, as on a hot day, Downeast Cider is the key to my heart. I watched the last game of the World Series here with some friends. We sat at a table and got some food and pitchers. Apparently it was $2 taco day and I was very satisfied with the quality of mine. It was a corn tortilla and the chicken and pico de gallo were mixed together. It was a little messy, but I really liked it. The side of fries was also delicious. I tried some of my friend's chicken parm and it was average. Nothing special, but no complaints. I always find it weird when sports bars like this attempt to have waiter service, but I guess you have to order food somehow. It was pretty crowded and very hard to figure out who the waiter was (he was dressed in regular clothes). Overall, The Draft is just an average local sports bar. HORRIBLE! I went here last night for the first time; the environment and the crowd is nice, but the staff is horribly rude! We ordered an appetizer and after not seeing our server for 20 minutes, I went to the bar to pay for our drinks and cancel the appetizer. I stand at the register for three minutes until someone finally acknowledges me. When I mention the appetizer, he points to a cold plate of food sitting on the bar. "This is yours" - I guess at the Draft, you have to know when your food is ready, pick it up at the bar, and eat without silverware or plates!!!!! So I pick up my food and tell the server to get my check. He can tell I'm angry. He comes back and says "It wasn't that long. The appetizer only took 22 minutes..." and walked away. RUDE! They got 40 cent wings every Sunday and Monday and some very creative, tasty sauces too. Not just the standard Buffalo and BBQ (which are always good btw), which is nice if you want to mix it up. They have other food deals Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as well. Beer selection is good and they have some cheap ones if you don't want to pay 6 dollars for a craft. They got a nice patio and a pool table as well. Yeah it has the reputation as a college bar, and yeah it definitely skews that way, but honestly it's a super mixed bag. They have pool, shuffleboard, buck hunter games in the main room and in the back on their patio they have lots of extra seating and a full bar. The food is REALLY good. The drinks are reasonably priced. If you get there during a food/drink deal, it really can't be beat--a massive burger, fries, and beer for $5? Yes, please. And, we did have to go get our own food last time, as the waitress didn't bring it to us and just left it sitting on the bar (we were at a table). And the music is WAY too loud. I like this place a lot. A true sports bar that's casual, and easy. Never is there a line and never do I wait long at the bar for a drink. A staff of mostly guys, and they're all really nice. During the week it's kind of dead, but on Fri. and Sat. nights it's pretty bumping. They've got a pool table and my favorite, Big Buckhunter. The food is your normal pub grub. The only complaint I have is this one waitress wears these tank tops with a black lacy bra underneath that you can see... tacky and stupid looking.
