The worst meat loaf & turnip greens I've ever had! It was basically just hamburger meat! Very plain. I end up sharing my husbands chicken pie because it was the only thing we ordered worth eating! read more

Classic diner. Came for breakfast before a day at Dollywood. Had the Wyoming omelet. Hubby the American burrito and son the biscuits and gravy. All were fine. Menu not the 350 item book available at some places - they keep it simple and straight forward. read more

We stopped here after spending the day at Dollywood. If you review the Yelp reviews you'll see its hit and miss and that, IMO, sums it up. I had the fried catfish and double order of fried green tomatoes. The fish was as bland as it gets. There wasn't any flavor- very neutral. The fried green tomatoes were greasy and very disappointing. My meal was not worth eating. However the rest of the party loved their hamburgers- didn't catch the name of the burgers sorry The one bright spot - our waitress was awesome and for some odd reason I can't remember her name. Overall the food is hit and miss but it seems the hamburgers are a hit. read more

This is your typical diner. The food was great, the coffee kept coming! Our plates Were clean. The waitress was attentive and did her best to address my daughters soy/dairy issue. And even though something didn't pass (tummy troubles from her) my daughter said it was worth it it was that good! Super cute on the inside and out with retro booths and mirrors galore. read more

We wound up here by accident. We had intended to visit Mel's Diner, because of reviews we saw here, but the Mapquest app led us here, so we decided to give them a try. We were greeted warmly by several people as we entered. It's a very family-friendly environment. We were led to a table within one minute, and our beverages were brought out right away. We visited right about 6:00 pm, so it was busy. Our server was very attentive, but during our visit, she seemed to have a couple more tables than she could comfortably handle. The wait for the food was just a bit longer than we would have liked. The food itself was standard diner fare; good, but not great. One pleasant surprise was the portion size of the salad. It was huge! And fresh. The restaurant itself was spotless, as were the restrooms. For beverages, they serve Pepsi products, although the Coca-Cola logo is prominent in the photo on the back of the menu. I guess they used to serve Coke, but switched to Pepsi to cut costs. In an area dominated by mediocre chain restaurants, it's refreshing to see a place like The Diner doing well. read more

This is one of those places that you walk in and know you're going to enjoy the meal. I'm sure that you can guess by the name that this is a place that takes you back a few years. There's an old juke box, the ladies are all in poodle skirts, and you're hit with smells that remind you of breakfast at Grandma's when you walk in. I stopped in during what would be brunch hours, so both the breakfast and lunch menus were available. I chose breakfast and got the 2 + 2 + 2. Great value! Two eggs, either two bacon or two sausage, and two pieces of toast - here's the kicker - for less than $4!! You get a great breakfast for less than what you'd spend on a Starbucks coffee. You can add grits to the meal for a slight upcharge. The service was great, the coffee was tasty, and the food was delicious. I would not think twice about going by again the next time I'm in the area. read more

The food was very good. The server and wait staff were working hard and did a good job. The reason I gave 2 stars and won't be back is because the woman that "greeted" us at the front door was rude and hateful. The way she was talking to people that were waiting to be seated when we walked up to pay was unbelievable. She was standing behind the counter yelling at multiple groups and shaking her finger at them and telling them to wait outside. If she had spoken to us with that tone of voice when we came in we would have left . When we payed she was complaining and never even made eye contact. With all the food options in town I would avoid this place just due to her attitude. read more

I'm not entirely sure what an old-timey diner ACTUALLY looked like back in the day (cause I wasn't there), but I took my parents to The Diner and they said it brought them back. The waitresses are in poodle skirts, the breakfast is cooked right, and the entire staff is oh-so friendly. I'd say this experience ranks in my top 5 favorite of my vacation to Tennessee, which is saying a lot, given the absolutely gorgeous mountains we were surrounded by. It was a perfect cherry on top of a wonderful fall getaway. Definitely give it a try! read more

Cool fifties style diner! I'm a theme kind of girl so when we passed this back in time diner while looking for a place to eat lunch it was a definite stop. Even though there were many tempting choices on the menu I went with a burger and fries for my first visit. They were very good and hit the spot for lunch. I can't wait for our next visit to the area to try the meatloaf. The service was good just not very fast. If you only have an hour for lunch then you may want to go elsewhere or call ahead. If you aren't in a hurry then this is a great lunch spot. read more

From the moment I we walked in the service was great! I love old retro diners like this, reminds me of some of the great diners I visited in New Jersey on road trips. Food was great! I had the Philly cheese steak and my bf had the Reuben. The decor keeps the conversation going and my 4 year old really liked it too. read more

The Diner - Table-top - Diners Near Me - Sevierville, Tennessee

While enjoying a long weekend in Tennessee, we decided to try The Diner. Despite the kitschy premise, the restaurant is removed enough from the tourist area to attract what appeared to be locals. The restaurant is set up like a classic 1950's diner, complete with waitresses in poodle skirts, but the menu is way more extensive. While the elk burgers were tempting, the folks in my party decided to go more traditional and order diner classics such as the meatloaf and chicken and dumplings. The food was solid, good food, but nothing spectacular. The desserts, however, were amazing. Scratch-made pies, banana splits, and sundaes were all consumed, shared and marveled at. Bottom line - Skip dinner and visit for dessert. read more

We only stopped in here for dessert and coffee because what diner doesn't have that, right? We definitely were not disappointed. Roxy, our waitress, was awesome! So kind and welcoming and we wish she could have sat down with us and shared a cup. Two orders of apple pie ala mode and we were gone, but not without a smile from the staff. Love this little diner! read more

We found this place on yelp and read the reviews. Boy these people that wrote good reviews must have zero taste buds. The food was awful, the waitress we had needed to take some Ritalin. She talked so fast none of us even knew what she was saying. Then we placed our order and she was totally going to not take my order and pay more attention to my husband and son. And the portion sizes that were to be enormous, wow those people must be blind. The food had no taste what so ever. I wouldn't waist my money here again!!!! read more

Feeling fine until my daughter and I decided to dine here after a long road trip. I ordered the Reuben sandwich and asked for horse radish. After delivering my sandwich, the mail waiter went to the back and grabbed a little bottle of horse radish. This should've been a red flag not to eat it from the little bottle. Who knows how many people dipped from it using dirty utensils?? Again, first meal after a long road trip and decided to eat anyways. The very next day was a torture filled day and was pretty much bedridden. This diner completely ruined a mini vacation that I had planned with my daughter with their carelessness. Never again read more

No masks. This is the worst diner I have ever been. Ruined my Tennessee experience coming from a traveler. Charged my group twice and accused me of not paying when I showed them receipts. If I could give this place 0 stars I would! Food was under cooked and took too long as well. read more

Having eaten here in the past, it gives me no pleasure to give them this review. We stopped by this evening to have dinner and when we got to the front door we were astounded to see that none of the staff were wearing masks. We left immediately, so we did not eat here, but with elderly parents there was no way we would potentially expose them to the virus. We like this place, and love that they are local, but this is just unacceptable in the current climate. read more

UPDATE Well, we waited about three months to drop back in for brunch after church yesterday and again we were disappointed. The food was ok, with the exception of my wife's hashbrowns were left off of her plate so when she asked about them, they finally showed up when she was nearly finished eating. The hostess was snappy with people coming in and we waited over 5 minutes for her to clear tables and seat people when we were trying to pay our check when leaving. The friendly smiles of the entire staff under the previous owners is long gone and been replaced with handheld electronic ordering devices and big flat screens in the kitchen but in the process, you have totally forgotten about the customer. The staff were all in a full out run and too busy to even say hello. read more

Wonderful food, great diner atmosphere. Service was amazing. Finished a volleyball tournament and showed up with six families. The staff made us feel right at home. Make sure you get a milkshake. Best part of the meal. read more

Food was ok but I was very disappointed by our waitresses response after seeing our bill & them not removing the cost of my aunts meal after the waitress spilled a full glass of ice water on her lap, her response to me asking "are you really going to charge her for the meal?" the waitress replied... "We don't do that here, it was just water". It's also 37 degrees outside. I've never would have thought that after spilling a full glass of water on a customer on 37 degree night you'd charge them for an $8 meal. I was actually embarrassed for her with that response. So bring a snorkel and a rain jacket when eating here. YOU MAY GET WET! read more

Swing and a miss today. We've eaten here several Times before on the way through town and the food and service were always great. We clearly came on an off day. We waited over 45 minutes for biscuits and gravy and a country skillet. I don't mind the wait considering the entire hospitality industry is short staffed but if I have to wait at least make it taste good. Nothing in either dish takes that long. Biscuits were dry (even drowned in gravy) and the hash browns underneath were hard and chewy. Not crunchy like grilled hash browns should be. My eggs were cooked perfectly so that's a win. Our server had way too many tables. I've worked in the industry most of my life and 7 tables is a lot for any server, no matter how experienced. She did try her best to take care of everyone though. You could tell she was running. read more

Nothing to write home about, so to speak. We tried it because we didn't want to dine at the same place twice. Our plan was to dine somewhere we haven't dined before. What we had was pretty good. The wait person who took care of us was attentive. The place was alright. It looked like it needs to be refreshed. We'd dine there again but it's not the first place to come to mind. read more

Much better all around than Mel's on main strip! Personal service and great food. Owner is often there and very friendly! Try their sandwich with fried green tomatoes on it....YUMMY! read more

Everything went well with our meal until we were about to leave. I visited the restroom, where I saw the bus person, an older gentlemen in there. He left without washing his hands and proceeded to clear tables. We were shocked and disgusted and clearly we will never return to this restaurant. read more

We came to this great looking diner. The food and service is EXCELLENT. The only tiny thing would be that the batter for the fried pickles and onion rings was a little bland. Fries needed salt too. But no biggie, they have it there for you. I would go back again. read more

The first place we go when we hit town and last place we eat before we leave. Excellent food, 50's atmosphere, and great service. Try the burgers or the Ruben sandwich. For breakfast, try the Severville Skillet. read more

The diner gives off a classic vibe with a checkered floor, jukebox, and lunch counter. The menus is full of very reasonable priced items, with some wild cards including buffalo/elk burgers. The burgers are big and juicy, and the waitresses are quick to serve. The diner is a must do in Sevierville, TN read more

Awful! Would not seat an elderly woman or give her anywhere to wait, even though there was clearly multiple tables open. Kitchen appeared to be unclean and cook had long hair directly over grill. read more

If you're looking for the diner aesthetic, look no further. I loved how the place looked, inside and out. Our waitress and the woman who checks you out were so nice and very friendly. I had the chicken fried steak, it was amazing 10/10, mashed potatoes were fluffy and the white gravy on the potatoes and steak was very tasty as well. The potato salad stole the whole show, it's a must to try the potato salad. It was soooo goood. They make it themselves. They also make a apple cinnamon butter for their sweet potato fries. That's a must as well. Overall everything was good that I tried. read more

Wasnt sure about this place going in, first impressions werent great as far as the outside sidewalks could have used some sweeping. Cigarette butts and few pieces of trash here and there but the reviews weren't too bad so We decided to go ahead. So glad we did. Staff was very friendly, we were seated and helped right away. Surprised on how quickly we got our food. It tasted good (cooked perfectly with the modifications we requested) and we were full and happy. Family of 3 ate for about $30. I call that a win! read more
