This was an accidental find on our way home. I had the hummus vegetable wrap which was absolutely delicious. The veggies and avocado were extremely fresh. My father had French toast, eggs, sausage and hash browns. He enjo everything other than the hash browns, he knows his food at 90 years old and he said they were definitely left over from the morning because they were burnt and dry. We won't let that deter us because we will definitely be going back for sure. Our waiter was very nice and attentive, I can't remember his name but I know he is Italian! it's so nice to have diner food in Florida as I am from New York. will be heading back home in May and have intentions of visiting The Diner a few more times. We've only been here once, but we know a good old fashioned breakfast spot when we come across one. Word to the wise, get there early! The Diner Decided to give this local establishment a try. It is definitely not your typical diner but more of a restaurant. The food and service were both very good! Pleasantly surprised! Really good food! We just wanted breakfast and found this spot. Food is quality ingredients for reasonable prices. Short wait for a table, shorter wait for food! Food came out super quick, server Claudio could not have been better, nicer, more efficient! Love him as our server! Had avocado toast, simple and fabulous. At the recommendation of friends, we tried The Diner for lunch. Most diners have a "smarmy" feel to them, but this was the complete opposite! The staff was friendly and attentive. It is a "seat yourself" establishment, but we were helped to a clean booth. The empty tables were clean except for the occasional water ring from leftover drinking glasses. The menu is extensive. A wide variety of breakfast (served all day) and lunch items. My wife had breakfast which included eggs, a selection of meats and a slice of French Toast. She is particular about how her eggs are cooked, and she was very pleased with they're preparation. I had a mushroom-swiss burger. Both the meat and the fries were some of the freshest I've had. Both tasted like they were prepared immediately before coooking. Extremely enjoyable experience. Not to loud( can easily hold a conversation at normal volume) and reasonably priced for lunch. Been eating the same breakfast for months. Paid the same price...$7.01 from a variety of waitresses. Today it is $9.35! I asked why. It seems "all" the other waitresses assumed I was 65 and gave free coffee...for months! Now it is $2.55 for a tiny cup of coffee. Will just go back to Palm Diner on Military. Kitchen lost our ticket, didn't realize after 35 minutes of sitting there. Was told it would be 5 more minutes from when they realized, waited 15 more minutes. Food was just okay, runny eggs etc. No discount offered or anything. I'm of the opinion that sitting down for breakfast shouldn't take over an hour if it's only a few people. Two stars because the place was at least clean. Everyone that's ever worked with a thermal/roll paper style printer knows it's very easy to tell when a tickets been "eaten" by the machine. Our server Kelly was competent and friendly.. My husband liked his ample spinach, feta egg omelet and home fries. My child loved his kid's meal of 3 silver dollar sized pancakes, even though I think it should come with a small juice or fruit for the price. I had a nice size bowl of homemade tasting oatmeal that came with brown sugar and raisins, the cinnamon I requested came with it, I never had to wait as most diner servers forget to bring it after asking when I order. This restaurant has been open for a while but line outside was a turnoff when all we wanted was a simple breakfast. Today we decided to give it a shot and by luck there was no line at 9 am. Someone knocked over the sign so we did not know if they seat us or seat yourself. Ended up at that moment it was seat yourself. Our waiter was extremely nice my wife and I assumed it was the owner. Come to find out he only started a day or two earlier (I became concerned come to find out was not necessary he was a very attentive server). Coffee was delivered quickly and it was a good cup. My wife ordered the 2 2 2 Two eggs over medium (yolk broke nicely for her) two pancakes (fluffy and tasty) and two slices of bacon (cooked well not burnt or too thick). I got the Lumberjack three Eggs ( I got mine scrambled and will not order them again. They were plain and lifeless.) two pancakes (like my wife's fluffy and tasty) large portion of home fries which were seasoned well and cooked just right. Finally three strips of bacon done well and two sausages sliced long ways and grilled which I enjoyed. Paid and out the door by 10 am. Restaurant was packed and line out the door when we left. The menu is what I would call "real diner" fare, and I was happy to see hot open faced sandwiches on the menu both turkey and roast beef. Unfortunately the turkey sandwich was bland and the mashed potatoes were missing something in texture. I wanted to call them "watery" but that would make them sound runny... They weren't dense like you sometimes get at low end diners, but they weren't creamy like good mashed potatoes should be. This was my first time here. I ordered the Country Fried Steak and Eggs with home fries. The food came out and was exactly what I was looking for. The portions were hot and cooked just like I ordered. I was surprised on how fast my order came to the table as the diner was busy . Looked around and did notice a lot of senior citizens. We went on Mothers day, our party of 4, and were a bit underwhelmed by the 1 hour wait (my husband was starving lol) however, Our Waiter Eric, well he was outstanding, I can't remember have a better waiter anywhere! It was so busy, however he never stopped smiling, took a minute to have a few laughs with us, and we left thinking Wow what a delicious breakfast, and the superior service was suprising, Eric made our morning! we left him almost a 50 percent tip for our 4. Food is pretty good prices are higher than they should be But the service - HORRIBLE Constantly screw up order and when advised its a definitive I don't care attitude Predominantly one employee but upon complaints to management - they are OK with it because they keep the person on and let the attitude continue without correction. Unfortunately its the peron who generally answers phone in morning to fulfill call in orders pickup. The attitude magnifies when you open bag to heck order as she already knows I work across street and find them convenient (used to go there almost daily) - but am frustrated and will no longer accept the level of service attention and constant incorrect fulfillment. My hope is they close shop and another person that does understand customer service will open at same location. This is a difficult review to write because the food was excellent and very reasonably priced with gargantuan servings. Service was adequate but not great although the server was pleasant, just very busy. The decor is nice with high ceilings and pleasant paint colors, cute light fixtures, and appropriate art work. I had a turkey club sandwich which was loaded with fresh off-the-bone turkey, a lot of bacon and fresh lettuce and tomatoes on good bread. My daughter had eggs and bacon and got 5 pieces of beautifully prepared bacon and a huge serving of potatoes. My husband's eggs benedict could have served a family of four; the hollandaise sauce was plentiful and excellent. The tables and booths are battered and need touching up and/or replacing and the place needs to be closed down for a day and cleaned. I sat facing the drink station and the stainless cabinetry was VERY dirty. Our table was dirty when we were seated; the dishes were cleared but the table top had not been wiped and the hostess set menus down on the dirty table. I nicely asked her to wipe it and she wiped half of it with a dirty rag but the crumbs remained where the salt and pepper shakers were. The holder for the jam/jelly was sticky and needed cleaning. I am very particular about cleanliness and notice details others may not. The place is crowded and it appears they have a steady stream of regulars. The food is very, very good (no question about that) and servings are immense with very low pricing so the meals are an excellent value. The four of us stopped by after our workout at the gym. Two of us had there 2-2-2 one had eggs and vegies and the other had poached eggs. The poor guy with poached eggs had to wait a long time as they really over cooked them. The waitress made them do it right and took care of the situation. She really handled it correctly. I've been here several times and each time was a different experience. The first was for breakfast.. I had a veggie frittata hubby had an omelette.. the meal was wonderful as was the service. The next I had the buffalo chicken salad hubby has the spinach salad. He loved his.. the chicken on mine was disappointing way ok much breading but the salad portion was ample and filling. Most recent visit hubby got the spinach again it's become his favorite meal. I ordered the gyro salad large portion way more then a single person can eat. The salad dressing, I was told they make on premises it tasted like bottled dressing. Still like the place. ONLY PROBLEM.. for some reason, while there is a pandemic and the service industry is hard hit because of the easy that it spreads they have chosen not to wear masks ANYWHERE in the restaurant. read more
