I really do like this place. Portions are jumbo sized, they are quick getting through their wait time and food is fresh, homemade and good. Today they lost a star for the mediocre service I received from Sarah, one of the servers. She literally did not stop at our table for more than 60 seconds or crack a smile until it was time to take my money. There's a way to be busy and present a level of calm to the guest. She was moving so quickly I could barely tell her what I needed and felt rushed. I hate being rushed!! Like I'm paying you to serve me. So sorry for the 10% tip but the service was mediocre today. I asked her a question when I got the bill and she immediately got defensive. I politely said I was just asking a question, not negating the billing. Great place for lunch. I live in the area and have eaten there twice. It is always very busy unless you go around 2pm after the breakfast and lunch rush (we tried going for breakfast once but couldn't deal with the long wait)... I am vegan/vegetarian and they have a great veggie wrap filled with really fresh produce and their fries are good (especially when ordered well-done). My boyfriend has ordered their burger and he loves it! The service is very friendly and has a hometown diner feel. One of these days we want to go for breakfast, but be prepared to wait upwards to 45 min for a table! That's the only reason I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5. read more

Came to meet a friend last weekend for brunch. Obviously the name "The Diner" kind of gives away the concept as this is a very diner-ey place but much nicer than others I've been to. They were sort of busy this day but we ended up waiting such a long time to get seated. He wanted to sit with one of specific waitresses that he always sits with and somehow the hostess skipped over us and we ended up waiting over an hour. The service otherwise was great and the food was good with absolutely huge portions. I ordered a Greek Chicken Wrap with side salad and the wrap was almost the size of the plate. He ordered a Cobb salad which would literally make two, maybe even three meals for me. The extremely long wait and the fact that we were skipped over while waiting is the reason for my 3 star review. Seriously disappointed. I've had the food here before and it's OK, but today's experience will insure I never return. We watched as three tables were sat, and ordered after us received their food. Watched as my (hot) sandwich sat in the window for over 10 minutes. Table 1 was done with their meal and chatting, table 2 was done and had their check when 1/2 of our food is brought to the table. My food is incorrect and as I had seen it sitting, it was no longer warm. My husband's food wasn't even done yet we were informed. Yeah, I get it, everyone is understaffed and I do give a lot of leeway, but sitting for 30 mins watching every table sat after you get and finish their meal is aggravating. At this point neither of us wanted to stay and just asked to cancel. But what put this over the top was when we asked for the bill and a box for the one person who received his food...we were then ignored while the other tables were taken care of first, yet again. No, I dont complain often. I will go with the flow and eat even if it is somewhat wrong, mistakes happen but this was too much. And yes I asked to speak to someone but no one could be bothered. That was the best food we ever had My boyfriend and I drove up here from Coral Springs and stopped here because we got hungry and im so glad we did! Our waitress was Mickey and she told us that the owners are a husband and wife. Everything they serve is made with so much love you can taste it! I had the sunrise burger and my boyfriend had the lumberjack breakfast. Im not kidding when i say everything from the toast to the pancakes to the hamburger meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I had a great experience the first time around when we sat and ate breakfast. Ordered a to go plate as well and they forgot the sausage but everything came out great. Ordered to go again and they forgot one egg, bacon wasn't fully cooked. Pancake wasn't nearly as good as the first time. The whole meal was pretty bad actually. Save for the lack of pickles - honestly, I feel like any sandwich should default to include a pickle! - this place is tops in my book. The cheeseburger elderchild #1 got was HUGE and cooked just the way he likes it. The serving of French fries was enough for the whole family to enjoy. Elder child #2 got the chicken salad sandwich with a nice side salad that was almost a meal in itself. The bread the sandwich was on looked legit, nice and of the thick cut variety. My chicken pita sandwich took me back to my Queens diner roots and the tzaziki was on point. My side of chicken and rice soup was huge and that had to go home for later enjoyment but only after I peeled back the elder children's paws from trying to eat it before I could wrap it up. All in all under $30 for a really nice midday meal, I'd absolutely come back to try breakfast proper. Let's see how those pancakes fare! read more

Went there with another couple on a Saturday morning. Place was quite crowded. I had the French toast and wife had the five egg omelet. The French toast wasn't as good as what I get at the Palm Diner though the omelet was tasty. Wife couldn't finish it so I did. If we were to go back she'd order her usual bacon & eggs and I'd end up ordering the French toast again but I wouldn't go back there unless I was with another couple who wanted to go. Not sure I want to recommend this place because there's already always a line waiting to get in. But in order for them to stay in business so we can drive all the way across town to have breakfast or lunch there, I will say that as far as I'm concerned it is the best diner in town. The servers are fantastic and the food is better. My favorite is their waffle topped with strawberries and bananas with whipped cream. I call it my diet breakfast! The only negative is they close at 4 o'clock which is way too early for dinner for us. This place was definitely NOT worth the wait. My veggie omelette came out brown, giant pet peeve of mine. Onions were hard and undercooked, and I also noticed there was not one shred of cheese in it. When I asked the waitress (miserable looking older woman with short hair) if I can have some swiss cheese, she looked at me like I had 2 heads. I have been eating here since my company moved their location nearby. I'm generally not a fan of diners as most are old, dirty and offer absolutely no character. After driving by and seeing this place full at all times I decided to stop by and try it. I'm not going to lie it was also in a newly constructed building so that definitely played a factor in my decision lol. The interior of this place was spotless and did not look like a diner. The plates, glassware and silverware were not old and dirty. They were actually new and spotless. Sorry I had to say that. They have a large menu with sandwiches, salads and of course breakfast items. Their prices are so cheap that it almost seems too good to be true. I love having breakfast foods in the afternoon or evening but not in the morning so I'm only here during lunch time. Their eggs benedict is awesome. They even use pea meal which apparently is real Canadian bacon. Their homemade hollandaise sauce is on point. The eggs are always perfectly poached. They do have fresh cut fries which is a big deal to me. They fry them perfectly too. My go to item here is the power breakfast. It consists of a grilled chicken breast, scrambled egg whites, toast and a mixed fruit cup. The chicken breast is consistently cooked to perfection. The fruit cup is a good size and the fruits have always been fresh. It fills you up and it costs around $9.00. You always see the same faces working and they are friendly. The food is very large portions so go with an appetite! The pancakes are bigger than your head. If you order an omelet, it can be easily shared because it's made with 5 eggs! No joke. The home fries were a disappointment. They were missing seasoning and salt. French toast isn't only dipped in the obvious egg, but it comes with a layer of egg on it. So eggs basically come with your French toast. Some would say this place just slopped together breakfast, but who said breakfast has to be orderly. Would I return. Sure! Usually not a huge fans of diners but this place is great ! Newer place and very clean ! Not your typical "old feel" of a diner. Has cool lights and has a great layout so you're not eating on top of one another like other places. My favorite is the Greek egg white omelet. And they are not shy with the size and portion of their omelets ! I also heard the frittata is really good too if you like egg whites, which I do. Chicken and rice soup is delicious too !
