Tomato basil soup

This place was packed! We spent be day on antique row and stopped in for lunch at City Diner. We are a party of 7 and we were seated pretty quickly. The staff was very nice and the menu has something for everyone. Everything was so good. The restaurant is so nostalgic. Everything in the restaurant is a conversation started. Give it a try!

We hit this place for lunch after a morning at Naples Zoo. Great service. Small spot but the ambiance is fun with a neat toy choo choo train that goes by above. Turkey club was on point ! Milk shake was delish and had a heaping serving, I ended up taking a full to go cup with the remaining and that's after sharing some with my 4 year old daughter! Wish the sandwiches came with fries instead of bag of chips or having to pay extra but totally get it if it's just about costs. We will def come back in our next visit to the area!

Cool retro diner on Dixie Highway in WPB. We went saturday morning after the green market. Place was fairly busy for about ten thirty in the morning. We we're greeted and seated right away by the hostess. I ordered eggs Benedict. My niece ordered ahe french toast with eggs side of sausage. The eggs Benedict was cook perfect. The hollandaise sauce was not overly rich. And the cut of canadian bacon was very lean with a little sweetness to it. The hash brown's were perfectly crisp. I tried a piece of my niece's french toast. It was also very good. Light and fluffy dusted with some powdered sugar. Inside there's a toy train car that rides through the restaurant above you. Definitely a fun place to eat.

The food is amazing. The service was outstanding. This is a real gem in the Palm Beach area. The decor was very interesting including a working train set suspended from the ceiling. Try the Apple pie

What a fun place! We stopped in for lunch. The fries!!!! YUM!!! they use beef tallow. Remember what the fries use to taste lake?! Wow I didn't realize how much I've missed that. They were very busy but our waitress was very attentive and we didn't have to wait too long on our food. It is a real 50s dinner! They have breakfast until 3pm and burgers sandwiches for lunch and dinner. I will definitely be back. OH! And a great cup of coffee.

City Diner was one of the best places to grab breakfast in the county. Then the owner took a dive into a particular political view. It's made him very popular with people who share that view, but has cost him the business of a lot of people who do not, including me. He was outright rude about it, to my face. So I can find better places to spend my money.

If you're looking for a true hidden gem, City Diner in West Palm Beach, FL is the place to be! This 43-year-old diner makes EVERYTHING homemade, from the fluffy pancakes to the super crispy hash browns. This place is a classic diner with good food done right. When I visited I was waited on by Kelly! Her service is absolutely top-notch- giving our group time to order and catch up but also being attentive and making sure all our coffees and waters were refilled. The other staff I encountered were also friendly and generally seemed happy to be at work! Now if you've read this far, one of the best things about this spot is the atmosphere! City Diner has outdoor seating but inside there is lots of old school cool type of memorabilia hanging all over the restaurant. It's got that cozy, old-school diner charm that's hard to find these days- a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. And speaking of meals, don't miss the weekday breakfast special! For just $6.99, you can get a satisfying, delicious breakfast that includes 2 eggs, potatoes, toast and bottomless coffee! A great deal in this economy and better than anything you'd find at a chain restaurant. I would definitely eat here again! But don't take my word for it, check out my photos and check out City Diner for yourself! #MoreLife

Country Fried Dry as heck breakfast
Saqui R.

Boy this place went downhill fast!!!! Probably the worst dry breakfast I've had in years. We had the country fried steak, which tasted like 2 week old leather meat. The potatoes were hard and no taste. The gravy was not creamy and too thick. Everything just seemed like it was sitting for a long while before being served. This food was not fresh at all. The ambiance is always great, but the food and service were a bit poor. Will not be coming back here again. Not worth it, even if I was as hungry as I was today. I would do 1/2 star if I could.

Burger no bun (for us gluten-free nuts)

This was a fine lunch. City Diner is small and unimposing. From the exterior, it looks like a very small "old-style diner." We went at an off-hour, around 3:30 in the afternoon. Of course, we were seated right away (on their patio) at that time of day. I had a burger and fries, which is sort of my usual. The burger was fine. It was served with lettuce and tomatoes, which were very fresh. The fries were very good. We really didn't get a good look at the interior until I went to pay the check. It's kitchy and kind of fun looking, and nothing really special about their decor. One thing I did notice was their freshly baked pies. They looked wonderful. There was an apple pie, which must have had five pounds of apples in it. Seeing that made me long for the days when I could have gluten, but those days are gone. I'm sure it was as good as it looked. While not extremely memorable, it was not a bad place to go.

Lobster Hash, sliced tomatoes, cheese grits!
Ryan S.

Very cool interior with a model train circling the room on a track above us. Getting the special, Lobster hash! Sitting at the counter, staring at this coconut cake, so it's inevitable I'll be getting a slice of that too

Truly enjoyed the service and food. Great experience on my first local restaurant on my first trip to Palm Beach!!!

This is a split meal with my husband and I mostly ate the potatoes and scrambled eggs. Over cooked dried out steak !

Howley's Restaurant - Turkey Club STACKED HIGH

Howley's Restaurant

I've eaten at Howley's Restaurant many times, and the food never disappoints. The chicken and…read morewaffles are some of the best around, the lasagna is fantastic, and the meatloaf and pot roast are pure comfort food done right. The place is a little funky--in the most charming way--with local art on the walls and a laid-back vibe. It's great food in a quirky setting, and honestly, there's a reason it's been open since the 1950s. Go hungry and enjoy.

I've held off on writing this review and I really hate to say it because I want this place to be…read moregood every single time I go, but the service is actually so terrible and by the looks of the other reviews, I'm not the only one who thinks so. The food is baseline for a diner. It's nothing special, but it is mostly acceptable and the ambience truly does all of the heavy lifting for this restaurant. The last three times I went the service is just despicable really. You look around and most people have their food and there's maybe two or three tables that need to either order or still receive their food and you sit there and you don't even get a drink order taken for literally 15 minutes which was my experience the last time I went, we were sat by the hostess, who quickly returned to the host stand to just stand there, and we waited for our waitress to get our drink order and it took over 15 minutes for anyone to come, and the only reason they came is because we got up and asked if we were going to get seen by anyone. And being that the service was so incredibly slow and lackadaisical the last few times I timed how long it took for me to get my food and it took 47 minutes for them to deliver a turkey club and a Philly. And the time before the most recent time I was there for breakfast and it took them over an hour to bring the food out, and they did NOTHING about it. Which really was the most shocking part I am in the Restaurant industry myself and there are things that are objectively right and there are things that are objectively wrong and something wrong happened and they had nothing to say for it except sorry. The poor young guy behind the counter on the way out was throwing himself under the bus as if the whole Restuarant is on his shoulders meanwhile our waitress had nothing to say drop the check off and just moved on in spite of the fact that I took the time to communicate that I was very disappointed by the extremely long wait time and the club I had on this occasion had rotten tomatoes in it that I couldn't even remove from my sandwich because they were basically mush but it's kind of like the perfect situation for them because I'm so hungry at this point after waiting so long that I do my best to remove it and my waitress is nowhere to be seen so it's not like she's gonna hear about it until she drops the check off. So basically long story short if you're in the market for mediocre food, extremely slow service and a somewhat interesting ambience and you have about three hours on your hands Howleys is the spot for you! I'm all down for the hipster vibes and I know subculture tends to lean on that but I think that they really gotta understand that they're not too cool to care about giving good service and and checking that their produce is fresh. It's such a great location and if they can't run this restaurant the way it should be maybe they should consider selling it to somebody who cares more. Having mini golf out front doesn't make up for the fact that you need to take care of people. Also, don't look in the spout of the creamer tin... Yelp I guess likes pictures so pictured below is the root beer float that took 30 minutes to come after we finished eating. I come here all the time and I really wish they would just do better. I literally just come for the ambience, but imagine if this place actually ran well and you didn't have to suffer waiting or picking at your food! Think about it! Also if you're the manager I don't need your phone number or some kind of vip service next time I go! I just need regular good service! The kind that every customer should go in there and be able to expect!

I talk about the "curb-to-table" experience frequently. In my former role as a Delta Air Line Captain, I recognized the curb-to-plane challenges our customers encountered. Chef Conley has created a friendly and welcoming experience from curb-to-table. It starts with the complimentary valet. Finally. Finally. I learned about our regular valet: MANNY! Manny, thank you for the kindness and safe service you have given us. You are usually the first person who takes care of the Buccan Family. You create the smile before we walk in the doors of Buccan or Imoto. Thank you. Solang' (my spelling is probably wrong and I apologize): You are such a beautiful soul. Thank you for your kind words to Laura as we left. Kindness makes a difference. While kindness is free, sincerity is priceless. Wow, I haven't even chatted about the food. We tried something new this time. After our small plates, we tried the pork chop. The mild onion and sweet rhubarb---simply stunning. Even shared, we boxed some for home. I don't care if you are watching what you eat. Close your eyes! The chocolate cookies (warmed) are a must. Period. Selfishly, I hope Chef Clay never gets a tv show. A book deal is allowed. We want this local treasure and his team to remain anchored here. Clay and his team are own foodie treasure in our back yard. But wait, there's more: Honored to watch Chef Clay modestly expand the Miami environs. He will be opening his Buccan-Imoto-Buccan Sandwich Shop experience in Coral Gables sometime in June/July. OMG, we cannot wait for this to open. Though retired from the airlines (I miss my MIA overnights), we will make the trip to celebrate these new venues. However, we will do it very quietly. We do not wish to be labeled as stalkers. Probably one of my longest reviews. I love seeing hard working people succeed. What this team does for the community is simply breathtaking. This is a true success story. Thank you Buccan-Imoto-Grato-Sandwich Shop-Stokes Barn Team!!!!
