Baked French toast for brunch. Pure deliciousness.
    Adriana F.

My husband and I have long been meaning to go to brunch at the Delmonico Room. This weekend, we finally made the drive over from New Jersey to Milford. My husband chose the burger and was a little let down when he was told by our waiter that they were out of American cheese (as a topping). He decided at that point to just go without any cheese. My disappointment came in my cup of coffee. It was very dark, and almost tasted like it had been burnt. I did notice a fellow diner had ordered a pot of French press coffee. I wondered if her coffee was any better than the single cup of coffee that I ordered. Also, the French press coffee pot is not listed anywhere on their menu. Where my coffee was lacking, my main order of baked French toast certainly made up for it. Two delicious baked brioche buns made into French toast and accompanied with sweet chantilly cream and blueberry compote. I enjoyed every sweet bite of my French toast, and would certainly recommend it. We sadly did not have any room for dessert, but certainly look forward to trying Bar Louis for dinner in the near future.

Amazing food, they have these crunchy potatoes, I forget what they're called but you better believe I'll be back at the inn a couple more nights just to enjoy the food again

This place is beautiful. Looks like a beautiful home on an enchanted street. Walking in to very friendly greeters and amazing staff of waiters and host didn't even come close to how wonderful the food was. Absolutely delicious. Our waitress Faith, was hardworking, sweet, funny and knowledgeable. She recommended the fish that our part of 6 will never forget... the duck crepes. Fantastic! Drinks were good and lamps chops were too die for. Plus the picture on the wall were just super cool! 10/10

Absolutely top-notch food and service. Wasn't expecting such a classy experience - definitely a rare gem in the area. The ambience is just beautiful and perfect, all of the details are attended to and the live piano music was a classic touch. I had the scallops and my husband had the short ribs, both were delicious and good portions. Cocktails were made expertly and pleasantly strong. We loved it so much we came back the next morning for brunch, which was also excellent. This place is worth making a special trip for!

Preface: I came here for a small afternoon wedding ceremony and reception. The Delmonico Room is located inside the Hotel Fauchere. The place smells clean. The atmosphere is gorgeous in a modern rustic way. The ceremony was done very well by the staff. The employees had a very lighthearted and nice yet professional manner about them. Afterwards we sat down for the reception. Laid out they had a cheese plate with these amazing chunks of Parmesan cheese and brie. I started with the salad which was delicious. It had apples and sweet balsamic dressing. My main course was the Short Rib dish. YUM, the flavors rocked. They added a lot of herbs and stuff on top. I believe there was an assortment of different style onions like red onion, chives, etc. This REALLY brought out the flavor. Now for the absolute best part...CAKE. They have an on staff pastry chef (I need to find out her information), but she made this absolutely delicious beyond words chocolate flour less cake with raspberry filling and whipped cream frosting. I rarely eat my entire cake portion let alone asking for another slice! Overall great time, atmosphere and location.

The open porch are is very nice. The traffic can be noisy

When the Mrs. spotted this place she noticed the dining area on the front porch. With a beautiful spring day upon us we stopped and are on the porch. Got there before he evening rush so we secured a spot overlooking Broad St. Nice views but once traffic came by it was a little noisy The ownership can't do anything about the traffic so let's talk about what they can control: the food and the service Neither of these were a disappointment. In fact u had the Salmon and it was unbelievable. Well prepared, amazing presentation, not too little to eat not a whole lot to eat. It was the right size portion and was a splendid meal. On to the service. Quite professional. Our waiter (can't remember his name) was very friendly and prompt. He didn't have any specials that night but yet later on we heard another server talk about the evenings specials. Don't know what happened there but who cares the meal we had was stunning.

Review: Café Faubourg - Montclair…read more Café Faubourg is one of Montclair's true gems--an authentic French bistro that feels as if it were lifted straight from a quiet Parisian street and placed right in the heart of town. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance sets the tone: warm lighting, intimate tables, and that unmistakable bistro charm that makes every meal feel like a small escape. The food is consistently excellent, starting with their hummus, which is surprisingly standout for a French spot. Smooth, flavorful, and beautifully plated, it's the perfect way to begin the meal and pairs wonderfully with their fresh bread. The steak frites is a must-order and easily one of the best in the area. The steak is tender and cooked exactly to preference, richly seasoned without being heavy, and served alongside crisp, golden fries that are everything you want in a classic bistro dish. It's simple, authentic, and prepared with the kind of care that elevates a traditional favorite into something memorable. Service at Café Faubourg is warm and attentive without being intrusive, contributing to the relaxed elegance of the experience. Whether you're dropping in for a casual dinner or celebrating a special occasion, the staff makes you feel welcome and unrushed. For anyone looking for an authentic French bistro experience in Montclair--excellent food, inviting ambiance, and truly charming service--Café Faubourg delivers every time.

One orders at the counter, however, the dishes are brought to the table. The cashier was also the server, but I thought perhaps she was also the co-owner. [I didn't ask her for the story, but when I asked about the Vivian Gray Lotus and Rose soap in the bathroom, she said she had bought like a case of the German soap when she saw it on sale. (I'm super jealous because the soap is absolutely divine smelling - and rose is one of my favorite scents.)] Hubby started out with the French onion soup. He was in love. The good thing was I didn't taste any alcohol in it (which is good because not only are we teetotalers, but we can't cook with alcohol, either), but I thought the broth was fairly one dimensional, not too far above just bouillon. The onions were not sufficiently caramelized, either, in my opinion. (I make good French onion soup - and so I expect a chef's version of it to be better than mine.) Hubby liked that the cheese was wrapped around the piece of baguette floating on top. He then had the [Norwegian?] salmon on a bagel, which had quite a few capers on top. Again, he was in love - salmon, bagel, cream cheese, what's not to? I, too, thought it was a wonderful dish. I had ratatouille, which contained kalamatas. I've never heard of olives in ratatouille, but it was quite delicious as well, albeit a bit oily. The presentation was very nice as well. The eggplant was so tender it was almost melted, and the tomatoes, onions, etc. were nicely seasoned and was very enjoyable. I used baguette pieces to eat most of the dish up with. The dish is piping hot and, as the server warned, there may or may not be pits in the olives (there were none in mine), so beware! There is no tap water served and, according to a local, this is a good thing since, again according to her, Honesdale has the US's 4th worst tapwater in the nation. So we chose San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa (hubby) and a nice Sarasota sparkling (which may or may not be bottled right there in Pennsylvania). For dessert (to go; we were too full!), hubby got a delightful almond cake of some sort; I did not have the presence of mind to snap a photo of it before he devoured it (after we got home). He was generous, however, and gave me a bite - and it was so delightful and creamy and almondy. A few days later, I finally ate the cranberry muffin - and absolute perfection. Moist, wonderful, fresh cranberries. And despite the fresh cranberries, especially those on top, not one bitter one to be found. What's wonderful, too, are the prices. So, so, so, and did I say so reasonable?!?!? A delightful, charming place and, God willing, we will be able to go more frequently.
