I found this place on a country drive that turned into a food quest. After pulling over I got the wiff of BBQ and walked around back. It was summertime and the the bar outside was open. I was greeted by a friendly bartender and quickly served a cold beverage. I looked around the bar at all the yummy bbq. The smells and the happy faces got me hooked so I order the ribs 1/2 rack. Wow they were juicy and tender and just the right amount of smoke, No regrets here!! I had a few cold beverages and finished up my ribs. No kidding - about the best burger I have had!! I originally thought they were standard frozen patties and I was hungry and ordered a double. Holy Smokes - when they came this was HUGE! Couldn't fit in my mouth. I ordered rare and it came rare BUT without drippy blood. It was cooked absolutely perfect for my palate. Super delicious, excellent excellent service - friendly and attentive. The waitress told us the meat is freshly prepared from the restaurant and I can really attest to that! I am a real burger aficionado having traveled all around the country sampling great eats and the Outposts nails it 100%. There was live music here on the Friday night with a loaded and lively crowd, we bumped into this place coming back from an ATV ride. This being on the main drag on Rt. 97 but for us in the absolute middle of nowhere. What an amazing place! We heard about the Outpost, and took a ride on Saturday to grab a late lunch, and we found the coolest road house, with delicious food and really great people! Also found out that they are affiliated with the campground next door! There are sites right on the Delaware, including Motorhome sites with electric water and sewer connections!! Really nice ambience, tasteful decor and food in the area, pleasantly surprised to stop by here on our drive, great to see so many families with kids stop by and the homely vibe of the place. Four of us went here for dinner on a Friday night at 6. Three of us had the prime rib special and one NY strip meal. We all LOVED our meals and topped it off with funnel cake fries. They came with caramel sauce on the side. Root beer, 2 beers, and a margarita and the meal was complete. We loved the atmosphere, the people, and the food. Decent place with a simple menu and good food. We stopped in on a Football Sunday so there were food specials that we indulged in. $10 nachos with meat were pretty good. The wing special was 5 for $5. We got 2 orders and really liked the wings. Drink pours were a little small. All in all I would stop in again for a meal. Recently had dinner here with some friends. It was a great evening. Since the weather was warm and sunny when we got there we took outdoor seating. We were hoping for some good bbq and we weren't disappointed. They have their own outdoor smoker where they smoke their own meat daily. After a few drinks we tried some brisket and bbq ribs. The brisket sandwiches were very good but the ribs were outstanding. Our waitress was great and kept our glasses filled. After an outstanding meal we sat until dark and closing. Inside: Seating and Bar Outside: Outside Bar/Seating and some tables and chairs outside of the bar area It's a nice place with some good food and nice atmosphere. If you're hitting the river on a rafting trip or cruising along the river's edge be sure to stop by. The staff was great and bartender Mike was cool to hang with. We had some Garlic Parm Wings (not made how you're used to but still good) and my partner had a Beyond Meat burger. Everything was good and well cooked. I washed mine down with a Pale Ale (see in pictures) while taking in the sun. We'll be back that's for sure. I have to try one of their Burgers Next! and then there's still breakfast. read more

This was our first time going to The Out Post. We did do take out. My husband ordered a cheese steak he enjoyed it! Plenty of meat & they got the cheese right. Mine however a different story. I wanted a plain old cheese burger medium rare. First it was cooked too much. Second how can you put an Angus beef burger on a flat iron grill? Minus the cheddar cheese & onion there was really no taste to the meat in and of it self. No seasonings. read more

We scooted into this Great Little Outpost as soon as we saw the OPEN Flag on Rt97. This is a must see and must return!! Jessica our waitress and her husband Nick at the helm/bar were so friendly and accommodating. This place has a bar inside and out. Great dining area outside with a few overhead propane heaters can extend this places' outside season. Great food. Had these great big onion rings with a tasty dip maybe a ?touch of jalapeño! Yummy!! Burgers are great. Freshly made beef burger with great seasoning. Big Kaiser roll with lettuce, tomato and fresh onion. Plenty of fries. Salad with chicken looked great too! Chicken freshly grilled not just nuked from the frig!! Outside area with the right weather at night could be the GO TO PLACE for that area. Reportedly Live Bands on weekends. After never visiting The Outpost, we have been their twice in the past few weeks. The staff is very accommodating, the beer is cold and the food is very good. We have had a few types of their burgers, wings, fish and chips and the Reuben. Have not been disappointed with anything we have ordered. The prices are very fair and service is great. We were asked to give up our table so a family with a child could sit and have dinner. We left. There was no child that would require a table. I find this unacceptable and rude.
