And if you complain? You get a bad attitude. Several of the workers are so unfriendly, it's intimidating to even go in there. Unfortunately there's not much else in the area. The store hasn't been updated since the '70s. The belt on the register has been broken for years, with a big sign that you need to push your own groceries. Several of the employees sit on a stool at the register and do nothing to help you. You're better off going to Walmart in Honesdale, 15 minutes away

Their cold cuts often go bad within a few days and on a few occasions, the deli ham was rancid as soon as I got it home with an overwhelming stink from the package once i opened it. They did make good on it and gave me my money back. I've also had the same problem buying their pork and chicken. .. another problem is since covid they are wrapping up their breads in cellophane. As a result The Bagels and Club Rolls not only have a strange consistency but always seem to be stale. The good thing is though, they do employee quite a few locals in an area where there really isn't much of anything except the new gentrified stores and boutiques being open by the rich idiots coming in from the city and trying to take over the area.

We stopped in for breakfast and had a blast exploring the holiday-themed sundries around the store (we ended up buying an ornament and a gorgeous sweater. Where else could you buy such things with breakfast?!). I don't know who's in charge of stocking the store but judging from how well curated these goods were, it's clear they know what they're doing. There were lots of local goods, like beers, wines, and maple syrups, and then some fineries like the Momofuku sauce line, luxury bath goods, and Anthropologie clothes. For a small shop, the menu was also unexpectedly robust. Along with your usual lineup of breakfast and lunch sandwiches and wraps, there were a few unusual ones that piqued our interest. The whole hot dog menu, for instance, makes for a fun and curious read. Want to try the Canadog? It comes with maple syrup, peanut butter, and bacon. Or how about the L.A. Japadog, with teriyaki sauce, nori, and mayo? We weren't brave enough to try, but I'm left haunted by what could have been. Our own sandwich choices were fantastic. Everything is made to order, so it took a few minutes, but we certainly weren't short of things to see while waiting. There are two small two-seating tables in the shop, and we were lucky enough to snag the table with the giant bevy of hot sauces (see picture). The people behind the counter are kind, friendly, and warm. There was a steady stream of customers during our visit, and it seemed like many of them were neighborhood folks coming in for their breakfast and snacks to go. All the interactions we overheard gave off small-town, Gilmore Girls vibes, and we were glad to be part of it for a short while. This is a fantastic little shop-and-cafe combo, definitely worth dropping in if you're in the area.

Always friendly, great store to grab fun items, tshirts, food, drinks, beer, quick grab and go. and they have an amazing menu of sandwiches and other items. everything we tried the several times we went was great - the cookies - don't overlook them - amazing! and if you need some wine or spirits they have a small store in the back of the building to grab and go. Thank you for being there for the kids at the playhouse for their summer, they truly enjoyed meeting you all and for taking care of them! if we are back in the area we will definitely stop by! little seating inside however there are picnic tables outside to enjoy lunch!

I really want to support local Sullivan County businesses, even the chains, to help keep money…read morelocal. But they have to make an effort. This Walmart doesn't. First, appearance. Other nearby Walmart locations, including the smaller one in Napanoch, have clean, refreshed displays. This store got a few brand new black cardboard signs, but most of the store still looks like it's held toghether by duct tape and bubble gum. They've slowly removed things like vending machines in the entrances, so now there's more places for the homeless to congregate, and the store does next to nothing about that. The spot for a restaurant has been vacant for about a decade now; they've made no effort to replace it. Over the years they lost a McDonald's and a bank, and they've only just replaced the bank, nearly a decade later, with a cell phone accessory store that would usually be a kiosk in the mall. This Walmart is not the one-stop destination that others, like Middletown, is. They routinely have the majority of their self-service registers closed, even though they require minimal staffing, so there is always a line. On my most recent visit, only 3 of the 16 were open, all on the opposite side of the building from where I entered. The register I used had a broken barcode scan wand, which I needed for an oversized item, and the chip reader for credit cards was also broken. Does this mean the other 13 registers have worse equipment? When I order items from the website, they sometimes decide to fulfill my orders from this location rather than a warehouse. When that happens, items are usually shipped two days AFTER the guaranteed delivery date. Based on the stickers on the packages, they were packed on time and then left on the side, forgotten. As more and more stores open nearby, they are going to lose a few dollars here and there until we lose them for good. We need this Walmart here; I remember the days when we had to go down to Middletown for basic needs. We need this store here, but they shouldn't take us for granted -- they need to give a darn about us, also.

JJ Delicatessen has an excellent assortment of meats, cheeses and dried goods, many from European countries like Germany and Poland. My girlfriend and I ordered sandwiches on a Saturday morning. We had to wait a little over twenty minutes, and the woman advised that next time we call our orders in ahead of time because the hot sandwiches take awhile. So that's your tip for the day. But they were worth waiting for. Fairly priced, excellent quality, and came with a few sides. I got the Polish sandwich special and my girlfriend got the Mediterranean sandwich special. There is a small seating area in the deli, but we took them with us and ate them in the car. It was a great lunch that we ate right before an afternoon of hiking at High Point State Park in NJ. Highly recommend this deli!

It seems like this is something of an institution and even for first-timers like us, it's not hard to see why. It's a European-leaning local deli that is clean, well stocked with interesting goodies, and that's is a cozy dining room in the front end of the shop. The two ladies we interacted with were fairly friendly and helpful, and after an agonising few minutes looking at the menu, we decided on the Polish and Italian sandwiches (vs heroes, which are bigger, cost a bit more, and are served on a roll). What I liked was the fresh tasting pickle that comes with the sandwich. In fact, the pickle may have been my favourite thing, period. The macaroni salad and potato salad were enjoyable if not particularly memorable. Now, the sandwiches. They look great, delicious even. We could tell they were made with care. From the first bite though, so I could think was, why's this SO salty? To this day, we're not sure what the culprit(s) were. Without the saltiness, I think they could have been delicious sandwiches. Perhaps this is how the locals like it. Maybe this is some sort of traditional way to prepare these sandwiches. All I know is that it traumatised my taste buds so much that I didn't have an appetite for another meal for the rest of the day. And of course I was quite thirsty for a few hours afterwards. I hope they keep improving and stay open for many more years.
