My boyfriend and I went for lunch on Saturday. He was excited to try the French onion soup, and I just wanted a simple soup and sandwich. I ordered a turkey panini with corn chowder, and he got the beef shaved sandwich with the French onion soup. The soups arrived first. Mine was lukewarm, and his French onion soup was decent. However, when our sandwiches arrived, his beef sandwich was extremely hot, so hot he couldn't even pick it up. When he finally took a bite, he burned the inside and top of his mouth because the center of the sandwich was much hotter than the outside. It was obvious that the sandwich had been microwaved. Unfortunately, he ended up with a wound on the roof of his mouth, and it was painful. We even considered going to urgent care to document it. My review is based solely on his experience with a dish that was dangerously hotter than it should have been. read more

We have enjoyed this eatery for years. It has ample parking and a ramp entrance which is wide enough for a wheelchair. Very thoughtful. The atmosphere is warm and cozy and there was no noise spillover from the bar. I would say it's upscale but never stuffy. There are quite a few vegetarian and vegan selections on the menu. The house salad is boring. The dinner rolls very good. My daughter had the filet minion and said it was the best she has ever tasted. The blackened chicken is great. We will go back about once a month. The service was good but not spectacular. I dropped my fork and it took too long to get a fresh one. I did not like the Everything but the Kitchen Sink salad- it was too finely chopped and wilted. This is also good for lunch- the hamburgers were excellent. Prices are reasonable. Enjoy. read more

This is a great local restaurant and we've enjoyed our visits each time we've been here. We've come here twice this year while visiting family and the service has been good each time. The drinks are good overall with fun rotating cocktails and a good local beer selection. The appetizers have been tasty as well (tried and true fried mozzarella and interesting buffalo shrimp tacos) and we've enjoyed our entrees as well. We've had the steak here twice and it's been very tasty with plentiful veggies on the side, but I wouldn't get the fish and chips again given that they were very greasy. Don't sleep on 2 Rivers Grille!!! This spot was fire. We were driving down 81 and stumbled on this spot. It's located inside a house remodeled to a restaurant it's very quaint but nice vibes. Our waiter was Conner and he also made me a strawberry mango mojito which may be the best mojito I've ever had !! Ask for Connor to make you one ! I got a turkey burger with caramelized onions and sauteed mushrooms and it was absolutely delicious. Loved the aioli on it. My husband got their poke bowl special and he loved it! We have been to Hawaii and know what real poke tastes like and this bowl lived up to that. The rice was cooked perfectly tons of fresh veg, a spicy mayo, edomome. We are always sure to have dinner here whenever we are in town. Service is lovely and the atmosphere is very relaxed. In response to other reviews- if you are a later seating (as we often are), just let your server know if you will want service after they close. We are a group that loves a cocktail or two and they were very happy to accommodate us after the official close time. Many of the staff here seem to be in high school or recent graduates, so just let them know what you need! I've never been disappointed or told no here, but they are not mind readers. I typically have the Boursin tortellini. All entrees come with a side salad or cup of soup. read more

We were really looking forward to the dinner here since our friends brought u here. However, we were disappointed. Amy friend ordered her salad with the dressing on the side- that didn't happen. The fish and chips were way too hot that the first bite burnt my husband's tongue. We had ordered two orders of calamari with no cheese- guess what- they both had cheese! So we sent one back two of us had the other one. We also told our waiter we wanted to take out an order- when we were about to order, he then told us the kitchen had closed. Par for the course when the family is venturing in a foreign part of the country... we study Yelp (with a bit of an assist from TripAdvisor this time around) and settled on Two Rivers Grille. Being totally honest: we were hesitant when we first pulled up. It didn't look open and it just didn't "feel" like they were knocking out the quality grub all the reviews were mentioning. But we stuck with the plan and so so so (so!) glad that we did. Extremely friendly staff. Really great menu with a chef in the back that should be wearing his toque blanche with pride. French onion (I'm always a sucker when I see that) - stellar. (They have a hint of a different herb on top of the usual thyme that really brought this to another level.) I went with a salad (not an item I usually ever get but I knew I'd be enjoying some deep-fried ice cream in a few hours) that was unusual and harmonious and just dynamite. (Probably the first time I had sliced avocado with eggplant and burrata, among other goodies, that just worked.) The Mrs. rocked a mahi mahi special and let the rest of us know after every bite how much she was loving it. Kids both got a burger and fries and were big fans. (I swiped a fry when no one was paying attention and thought that was really good as well.) Solid beer list. Good pricing. Clean restaurant (that really started to fill up for lunch but everyone was masked-up and spread apart) with outdoor seating as well. DON'T ORDER THE STEAK. AVOID DINNER. LUNCHTIME ONLY. I went here twice this past week. Once for lunch. A few days later, for dinner. Lunch was fine. Sandwiches, burgers and salads. Done well. Good lunch spot. Dinner was really really bad. I ordered the New York strip with teriyaki and rice. Some "Asian" vegetables. The steak was the worst steak I have ever been served. It sure was not a NY strip. It was only 1/4" thick and pounded flat. Fatty and gristle and bone chunks. Served with a (bottled Kikoman's) teriyaki sauce. $28. I should have sent it back. I thought it was a mistake. The rice was Uncle Ben's flavored rice...tasted like it was straight from the box. I'd swear it was, flavor packet and all. The tiny chunks of broccoli and carrot slivers were annihilated. I was so sad. I was actually pretty hungry after a stressful long day and hoping for a nice decent steak. Their Dessert menu...nothing is made in-house except the Creme brûlée. That was pretty good...a little too warm and slightly runny, but good. Pasta was nothing special. Huge bowl of plain packaged noodles, with a drizzle of tomato sauce and a fried cutlet with some melted cheese on top. "Special" ...the monkfish, fried, was raw in the center of one chunk. The dinner salad that came with our meals was inedible. The greens themselves were okay. The balsamic dressing was so sharp and biting that I started coughing with the first bite. Ruined by an extremely bad dressing. The French fries were good...they come with a dipping sauce and have a garlicky topping. I can recommend this place for lunch. I would not go here for dinner. You'll do better at Outback Steak House. (I did tip the server 20%, despite her up-selling the steak...she said it was "large"...when this NY strip was barely 4 ounces...I'm still really annoyed by the blatant rip off.) read more

My wife and I had an excellent meal here. Nice selection of cocktails and beer. We started out with the rossito balls, crispy on the outside with a very nice cream sauce. Wife had the shrimp and crab scampi and I had the 8oz filet with a roasted pepper blue cheese cream sauce with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. Service was excellent. Stopped by here for a quick bite to eat for lunch while in Matamoras today. I had a bowl of delicious chili. It was so good! Perfectly spicy and warm on a very cold day. I also had an order of battered sidewinder fries which were crispy and perfect for dipping in the chili. My friend and I just picked this restaurant from a map and I am glad we chose this one. Passable, but by no means good, so set expectations accordingly. We came here for dinner last night and while the menu might boast of (very random) "exoticism" as far as cuisine, the kitchen is peddling Sysco style. The interior decor/atmosphere is completely bare bones, and even though it's in a converted house, it does not feel homey. We started with a cup of the tortilla soup, and that was probably best thing that we had all night. It--like everything else that came out--needed some salt, but the consistency was good and it seemed to have been homemade. The calamari was rubbery and overly garlicky, and the "caprese" (LOL) consisted of meally supermarket tomatoes and too-hard avocados; there was also way too much balsamic on the plate. They fumbled timing for our main meals. Because side salads came out first and were sitting on our table, they didn't bring the food, which is why the plates were scalding hot when they FINALLY arrived at the table. No surprise that sitting under a heat lamp for a long time dried out a lot of the food. The chicken marsala sauce was surprisingly good, but they should have pounded out some of the breast. The chicken parm was standard; the tomato sauce was probably canned. The caesar salad had a bunch of soggy leaves and croutons in it (also from sitting out for so long), and the grilled shrimp was undoubtedly courtesy of a Walmart bulk bag from the freezer. Drinks/beers on tap are fine and service was good when they were paying attention, but she obviously dropped the ball in timing between salads and mains. IOHO you won't have a miserable experience here, but it certainly won't be a great one. VERY pricey for the area and quality as well 2.5 stars, rounding up. read more

If I could leave no stars I would. I went to Two Rivers Grille last night, August 17th, with a couple of friends. We all ordered pretty simple meals and expected a nice dinner out. We were seated pretty fast and received our drinks quick but after about 10-15 minutes, still no sign of bread...or our waiter. Being a previous server in a fine dining restaurant, I understand when there is a shortage of bread or if the kitchen is stuck, but not once were we informed or greeted by someone to let us know what's going. When we ordered, we figured we should just order simple meals since we've already waited so long for our 3 dinner rolls. 2 of us ordered chicken parms. The other, ravioli, and we split fries as an appetizer. After about an hour, our food comes out. The Ravioli looked appetizing but the chicken parms, not so much. Despite this, we all ate and took our leftovers home (which was a regret.) The following morning (this morning) all 3 of us were throwing up and sick to our stomachs. Although we cannot pinpoint what exactly it was that we ate that made us sick, we do know for certain it was something we all ate at this restaurant. We have had good experiences here in the past but unfortunately I do not think any of us will be returning. I wish there was a way of compensations for our meals since we were never able to enjoy them. I do not have pictures of the meals since we all threw them away, but I can take pictures of what each of us threw up if proof is needed!! read more

Pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. From the outside, it wasn't too impressive and the parking lot was small so we had to park down the street and walk. Inside was very cozy and clean. We ordered a variety of appetizers and everything was delicious! I definitely recommend the yellowfin tuna cucumber salad and the calamari.
