Calamari
Tanya J.

I have been here a few times each time the staff is friendly and the food is great. The bar area is separate from dining area and is lively. The calamari is the best I have ever had. The other patrons all got involved with a friendly game of wheel of fortune on the television. Food was served at a great pace.

Nice little restaurant with excellent service and great food. We dined here on a busy Friday night and the service was great. The dinner portions are large and come with a really nice salad. Lovely dessert selection, although we were so full, we had to split one! Also, had a beautiful bar area.

First time here. They have a good menu. I had shaved prime rib cheese steak, pulled pork , tuna sandwiches. We also had French onion soup and it was great. The Italian wedding soup was not great. Are sandwiches were very good. They got a good beer selection on draft and cans.

Very fun buffalo shrimp tacos

This is a great local restaurant and we've enjoyed our visits each time we've been here. We've come here twice this year while visiting family and the service has been good each time. The drinks are good overall with fun rotating cocktails and a good local beer selection. The appetizers have been tasty as well (tried and true fried mozzarella and interesting buffalo shrimp tacos) and we've enjoyed our entrees as well. We've had the steak here twice and it's been very tasty with plentiful veggies on the side, but I wouldn't get the fish and chips again given that they were very greasy. There's plenty of parking in the back of the restaurant (especially after 6 PM) and it's our go-to when we're in Matamoras!

Don't sleep on 2 Rivers Grille!!! This spot was fire. We were driving down 81 and stumbled on this spot. It's located inside a house remodeled to a restaurant it's very quaint but nice vibes. Our waiter was Conner and he also made me a strawberry mango mojito which may be the best mojito I've ever had !! Ask for Connor to make you one ! I got a turkey burger with caramelized onions and sauteed mushrooms and it was absolutely delicious. Loved the aioli on it. My husband got their poke bowl special and he loved it! We have been to Hawaii and know what real poke tastes like and this bowl lived up to that. The rice was cooked perfectly tons of fresh veg, a spicy mayo, edomome. Definitely adding this spot to my "places to go to off 81" yelp collection.

Definitely come give this place a try you won't regret it. From the service to the food everything is top notch. We went there for lunch and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. We found the menu selection diverse; and the vegetarian and gluten free options were labeled clearly which is always a bonus in my book. I got the salad special and my friend got a burger. Holy cow...it was massive and the freshest salad I've had in a while. Also the blackened chicken is to die for! The burger was massive, and according to my friend it was "cooked to perfection". Will definitely be coming back!!

We were really looking forward to the dinner here since our friends brought u here. However, we were disappointed. Amy friend ordered her salad with the dressing on the side- that didn't happen. The fish and chips were way too hot that the first bite burnt my husband's tongue. We had ordered two orders of calamari with no cheese- guess what- they both had cheese! So we sent one back two of us had the other one. We also told our waiter we wanted to take out an order- when we were about to order, he then told us the kitchen had closed. A good waiter would have told us the kitchen was about to close and to put the order in. So that was a strike. and another! I wish we were happier!

Italian panini and sweet potato fries

Great lunch spot between hikes. Our group was ravenous after conquering Hackers Falls. We wanted food--fast--but not fast food. TRG hit the spot. We had chili, salads, sweet potato fries, and an Italian panini. I absolutely stuffed myself but didn't feel gross afterwards. In fact, we felt so good, we embarked on a second hike after lunch. The sweet potato fries were the star. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and delicious all the way through. And without being overly salty or greasy. Two Rivers Grill was so clutch, and just as essential to our hiking adventures as the walking sticks we found, or Instagram.

Buffalo calamari

We had Buffalo Calamari Korean barbecue ribs, and kitchen sink salad all was very good, we will go back this place was a 10 out of 10 the Korean barbecue ribs were on point The fries were nice and crispy and the salad was out of this world.

I really enjoyed their red sangria which I wasn't highly hopeful of but I'll take a good surprise any day. The coconut shrimp with strawberry coconut dip was excellent as well. We got the sampler of ribs, pork and brisket which was also really nice but couldn't finish as for two people it was too much to eat. Other menu items of the past I have really enjoy are the Mac and Cheese and the Duck Dumplings or pot stickers... name escapes but the memory of enjoyment never did. Great server. Great staff. For the sports fans if you are worried about missing the game when nature calls they have audio in the men's room as well. Watch your excitement please for the obvious reasons. lol

We had a Peach Cosmo and White Sangria. For dinner we ordered the Cajun Pasta dish which was fettuccine with chicken, andouille sausage and shrimp. The dish was plentiful but didn't contain a lot of protein. The other dish was Fish & Chips. One very large piece of fish and fries. Meal was average. Dessert was the Italian Lemon Cake and a Tiramisu. Both desserts were good, coffee could have been hotter and fresher. Overall it was a lovely dinner and we will be returning as there are many other items on the menu we would like to try.

One of my toxic traits is that I judge books by their covers; I also do that with restaurants, and…read moreit burned me here. I stopped by on Saturday afternoon with one of my top-tier chums for a post-Port Jervis exploration/walk nip, deciding that out of all of the places we'd walked and/or driven by, this looked the most intriguing and certainly the most historic. One brief moment of validation occurred before we even entered - after walking through the downtown area and encountering pretty much a ghost town, we found a ton of locals in the outdoor patio/seating area here having a rollicking good time. Pretty decent endorsement, but it was quickly downhill from there. As soon as you walk in, you can tell that the majority of ye olde charm has been replaced; for instance, there's some wood paneling over the bar area that's relatively new - I was expecting something that looked pretty historic inside but in my opinion that wasn't the case. I'm not sure how much of a negative that necessarily is, but if you're walking into an establishment like this expecting to be transported to the 1890s, you're going to be disappointed. There's definitely some history, but it's not going to conjure up handlebar mustaches and victrolas. I ordered the Port Old-Fashioned off the cocktail menu; I was a little leery because it cited mulled oranges, but beyond that the description was dictionary definition. The drink itself was not. As you can see from the accompanying picture, the cocktail was practically red; I can't say for sure because I didn't witness the preparation, but it certainly looked and tasted as if it had Fireball in it rather than straight-up Bourbon. Really strange, and made it morph into a kegger drink for me. And the mulled oranges were definitely a mistake; I knew what I was getting into in that regard, so that part of the experience is certainly on me, but there's a reason this drink is supposed to have an orange peel essentially as a garnish and not a full-on part of the beverage. Really odd and I hate to say it, but probably the worst Old-Fashioned I've ever had. We had a young female bartender who was very nice/hospitable, which is the only reason this isn't a dumpster fire one-star review. She was the only one behind the bar, which was decently packed, and held her own. Our visit was relatively brief - we stopped for just the one drink before heading home across the border - but had no issues service-wise. We were able to order promptly, and received our beverages shortly thereafter. Unfortunately as mentioned, the actual drink was pretty bad, and I'd strongly recommend additional training in that capacity. Some of the intangibles are there, so I think this could be rectified. The Port Jervis residents clearly like this place a lot, so I have to assume they're staying away from the cocktail I had and enjoying either other drinks or the food (which neither of us sampled). And the price point is reasonable as well - I think my drink was $12 - but you ARE getting what you pay for. My recommendation? Head over to Jersey and drive the 29 minutes to the Walpack Inn, which is literally never on the way to anything except in this instance, and has much better menu options and legit rustic ambience.
