I was in the area and was thinking of stopping at another place and this one had more people, so I figured it may be good. When I walked in I had that feeling of your a foreigner, and yes I am. I haven't been in this area in over 30 years. I decided to sit outside for the weather is pleasant. The waitress was nice she had some offers but you can tell she did not want to over step her bounds by recommendations. She asked what I was thinking and when I told her Ruben she said it is very good here. Well I will say that was definitely one of the better Ruben's I have had. A little too salty, waited 40 minutes for our food but it was Sunday brunch hour. It's a busy spot. The waitress is so nice but they seem busy. It was definitely high salty food here. The parking can be confusing with the lot filling up quickly. There won't be any spot when you arrive. Just park on the street. Food is good. And a huge selection. It's huge portion but omg salty. Got here literally 5 minutes before closing and they still took us in. Ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and it tasted great. This place has a very homey kind of feel and the service was spot on. I finally got to come here for breakfast. On weekends it gets a little packed for sure.well I tried one of there special (daily specials) I had the scrambler. It was very good. Wife had the French toast with sausage patties. The menu looks good and they have daily breakfast and lunch specials.Lots of parking. We definitely recommend this place. Hands down this not only a terrific lunch but we truly stumbled upon a diamond in the rough! You can tell that Stewie's is the heart of this town and everyone was welcomed as they came in. I ate here for the first time and I did not regret it. I have passed by this place many times and it's always packed and I now understand why, it's delicious! We had the chili as an appetizer and wow it didn't disappoint! We also had the grilled chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries! It's presentation was beautiful and the taste was so delicious we were checking out and we thought about a slice of pie then the nice waitress told us that "her pies has won awards" and I was like okay I'll take a blueberry pie slice please and WOWWW!!! We had a great lunch here. Our party ordered the blt, biscuits and gravy and two specials, the avocado blt and country Benedict (kinda biscuits and gravy with poached eggs and hash browns). All was delicious. The avocado blt had an absolute mound of bacon on it (I got quite messy eating it, but no complaints here). Pluses: Friendly staff and attentive. The milkshake was good. Negatives: The burger I got wasn't great quality. Maybe it's a cheap frozen patty they use, but it didn't really taste like meat. The fries were OK. I'm hoping I just picked the wrong item on the menu & some of the other offerings are better. Before you order, ask if the dish is homemade. If yes, then go ahead. If not, pick something else. The blueberry pancakes have lots of real berries in them. They were very tasty. So were the home fries. I asked for them crispy, and they were perfect. But the sausage gravy and biscuits were totally disappointing. Chopped up hunks of breakfast sausage thrown into a pre-made, packaged sauce. Their turkey sandwich is also good, with real turkey.
