Delicious shrimp cocktail. Cobb salad had generous ingredients but lettuce was borderline soft. Turtle Sundae was out of this world- It's worth going there just for that. Decor- orange plastic chairs were way too bright and jarring. Cheapened the vibe. Bar looked nice- contemporary. Server very pleasant. A bit expensive but worth it. Go. read more

You'd miss it if you blinked, but you'd be remiss if you did miss it. With abundant outdoor/indoor seating, large or small groups can find a spot for gathering. The extensive menu has something to satisfy any appetite. We visited for lunch and were greeted by the host who seated us promptly on the outdoor patio. For our meal the orders included their clams, the meatloaf, and a half order of their Cobb salad. The clams were fresh and prepared deliciously. The large portion of clams came in a hearty garlic broth made from the clams' juice, and accompanied by two large crostinis. The meatloaf screamed homemade.... moist, rich, and flavorful. The mashed potatoes that accompanied it had homemade texture and taste. The half Cobb salad had ideal portions of egg, bacon, avocado, blue cheese, all along with a tasty vinaigrette. The menu includes an impressive cocktail list along with beer and wine as well. This was an overall very satisfying dining experience read more

so this restaurant in Matamoras in the best Western hotel I can tell you you would never think a restaurant of the quality would be in the best Western hotel. I guess what it is and there are two of them. There is Mr. Shane and there is the landing a very, very, very good steakhouse. we've been up here a couple of times and always stay at the best Western and we wind up venturing into this establishment and every time we come this is where we eat the staff the owner are just over the top good if you're in the area pop into the best Western, you will be pleasantly surprised. read more

The prices felt a little high, I don't know the area that well, but it is a hotel bar so there is the convenience if you are staying at either of the hotels there (which I was). That being said, it was a really nice spot, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the food was very good. I was hangry when I got there and there were individual bar snack jars out which was nice. The beer was cold and served in frosted glasses. I had the steak Gorgonzola flatbread which the bartender recommended - the flavors were amazing. It could have used a little bit of a crisper crust, there was a good amount of toppings (a good thing!) but the crust got soggy as far as being able to pick it up. Also they said they use filet which should be nice and juicy but it was well, well done so maybe should have been added later in the bake. The Italian cookie cake was amazing! read more

The service here was terrible. The food was acceptable but we won't be back due to service, and the worst part was bc our party was bigger she made 80 bucks for doing nothing. Had to ask for refills multiple times- kept forgetting , didn't even say good night or thank you . Missing salad. Didn't check on us much at all. The tables around us sat dirty the entire time we were there . Other tables were complaining about the service. Definitely won't make this mistake of going there again , especially for terrible service with automatic gratuity. Saw other complaints on Google but I see the owner doesn't take much responsibility and makes up excuses . For such an expensive place , you need some better servers. read more

First off the waitress was very nice. Shane stopped by the table too. Very good 7 Onion soup to start. Cheese was a little bit burnt but still tasty. Nice burger and good steak sandwich. If you are in the area I would definitely recommend you stop by. read more

Well, this was a surprise! Hidden away in a Best Western hotel off the main drag in Matamoras PA! It was really good and the service was excellent. We had a large group of 10 ladies for lunch; all separate checks. I had the jalapeño popper burger and it was very good. I just wish there were more jalapeños and seeds so it had some spice. Everybody enjoyed their lunch. This is why I love my women of Milford lunch group. I never would have tried this place on my own. read more

2nd time here. Enjoyed it thoroughly. The dragon mule is fantastic. As much as I love gin stick with the vodka as it works and you enjoy the dragon fruit. The appetizers were fantastic. The calamari was good the broiled oysters were amazing. By all means get the lobster Mac and cheese. The crispy duck is to die for of you love duck and I LOVE duck as a meal. My family shared the apps. The cheesesteak was amazing and the burger perfect. Mr Shane... you did it again. Thank you. read more

My husband and I are eating lunch at Mr. Shane's in Matamoras PA. When the owner's wife bring in a dog that's shaking, and then the dog shaking his hair into the kitchen where they cook food is deplorable and disgusting. Never going back there again and when I called the place, she says well it's a service dog not the point of the conversation, it's unsanitary and disgusting. Defending her restaurant is what she was all about read more

My third time eating at Mr. Shane's since it's opening a year or so ago. We had a family get together and chose this place for their amazing cuisine, and they did not disappoint! They are hands down the best in the North eastern PA/NY area, and since the moved from a little farther into the NY side, we will continue to commute. Waitress and kitchen staff are polite and friendly and the chef did interact with us for our meal. You can't get this high end level of meals and service without making the trip to NYC and spending significantly more! So long as they continue their five star level restaurant cuisine and ambiance, we will continue to enjoy coming and sharing this place with our friends and family. Ralph D. read more

Stopped here at random on a long drive and this was INCREDIBLE. We got the lobster roll (warm, delicious, perfection) and the pub burger (tangy, perfectly cooked) The martinis were awesome too. Great service, great ambience. Heather was great! read more

Frozen calamari, really? Frozen chicken dish - Was expecting more for the prices. Calamari was rubbery. Listed as "Wasabi firecracker" Had a thin drizzle of wasabi sauce drizzled over the top. Was actually sweet. Was soggy due to too much bottled Gen Zso's sauce used. 8 chicken wings for $16.00! - So salty couldn't even eat read more

Had the $25 wagu burger. Asked for med rare. Came out well done and dry. Sides of coleslaw was very good. Wife had the lobster roll. Just ok. Nothing special. Restaurant was very clean and staff was attentive. Bottom line: if you can't cook a burger..........I would have been a very happy customer if my order was prepared as i requested. read more

We checked into the Best Western and decided to take advantage of this restaurant in the hotel. What a good decision. My sister looked up the menu on line and gave us her order for her and her 4 year old so that the food would be ready when they came in. We ordered frickles (fried pickles) chicken tenders for my nephew, a hot lobster roll, a crab cake sandwich and a shrimp scampi flatbread. We all enjoyed our food. Service was fast and really pleasant. Our lovely server understood dining with a 4 year old and kept things moving. For dessert we had a hot chocolate chip cookie sundae, a tiramisu and ice cream with sprinkles. It's a nice space, with an outdoor deck which must be great in warm weather. read more

Not fresh at all!!! I would have to say the waiters are amazing however do not order the lobster. When they brought the lobster it lacked flavor or even authenticity. It was not good at all . It was not fresh. If you want great bar food it's the spot to go but if you're looking for fresh seafood this isn't it, which is sad because I had high hopes. I repeat do not order the lobster not worth it!!! read more

Went out for dinner and we're extremely disappointed- my sever must have asked the bar tender to bring a drink to my table, to say she was annoyed about it was an understatement. She dropped drink off with with no straw , which fine but she grabbed my empty drink and all I said was "o wait a minute" so I could grab the straw from my empty glass, she turned and slammed the empty glass at end of my table and walked away. I was sooo shocked I turned to say "thank-you" and what she mumbled under her breath was so disgusting that I decided to get up and leave. The sad part is, is that my child was at the table to witness this behavior and we were there because it WAS my daughters favorite spot. We went there 3-4x a month so it's sad that management saw and allowed this behavior to what you would call "regulars" read more

We have been to Mr SHANES twice in the last few months. The service and the food are Just WONDERFUL ! I had the raw seafood plate both times. Clams Oysters and Huge shrimp. It was served on a huge Ice filled bowl and was out of this world. My wife had the bacon cheese and mushroom burger and she raved about how good it was. The sweet potatoe fries are tops. The atmosphere is very nice and kind of fancy but still laid back. You will love it. (We're going back tonight with friends) It's our new fave in the Milford PA area Five Stars!!! read more
