The first day we went in was a welcome 'Wake Up' - with everything dark outside, they were awake, and open, and ready for us at 6:30. We tried breakfast yesterday due to the Yelp reviews and were not disappointed. My hubby insisted we come back with family for another round today. Use the "call ahead" feature to jump the line. I love the eggwhite scramble w/2veggie choices, comes with a grilled chix breast & slice of french toast! Pay $2.59 for real maple syrup..worth it. Hubby loved the Wild West omelette...skillets are delish according to family. Coffee is good, they leave a carafe on your table. I had a great experience here with my wife. It was sunday brunch and we got seated in 15 min. Our wonderful server's name was Jadyn. She said this was her first day but man was she well trained and she did an excellent job. If she didn't say that, then I would have assumed she has been working there since it opened. Today was my second experience at The Delectable Egg, my wife's third. Unlike my initial visit which I rated 5 stars for their Breakfast Burrito and fine service, this visit would rate a single star, hence the compromise 3 star rating. I've always been told that if the food tastes bad it's the chef but if its cold that is the responsibility of the server. Well I ordered the Waffle Combo (Belgian waffle, 2 eggs and choice of meat). Everything tasted ok but it was all cold. For example the softened butter served on top of the waffle didn't melt at all during the entire meal; the waffle was that cold. The scrambled eggs were fine except they were also cold as was the ham I had selected. We were there with another couple who actually had selected the restaurant so I did not ask the waitress to rectify my cold breakfast as I didn't want to embarrass our friends. My thought however was that if I wanted a cold breakfast I would have ordered corn flakes. Given that we now have one excellent experience and one lousy one I'll have to try The Delectable Egg in Westminster one more time as a tiebreaker. This time I will not accept cold food regardless of with whom we are dining. read more

I like the food. But when the menu says smothered and it came almost dry. After asking the waitress to make sure its smothered because the last time it wasn't. She argued and said "that's the way the kitchen makes it, I can get you a side if you want." Fyi the side is a very small 2 ounce dish for only $2.50 I seriously think this waitress needs an attitude adjustment and the kit hen need to be more consistent. They're flexible to accomodate your needs with substitutions etc. Execution sometimes fails, such as failing to give egg whites when requested, which can put people with special dietary restrictions in a difficult spot. It can get very busy and the wait staff gets rushed no matter how hard they try. Caffienating BEFORE coming can help... If you're sleepy you could get innundated. You get constantly interrupted with "is everything ok?"... interrupting any conversation. management apparently feels this is good customer service but they are wrong. Of all the breakfast places in the Westminster/Broomfield area, we go here the most. The pain of a long wait is lessened by the new "join the waiting list via yelp" so use that service for sure! The menu is huge and very reasonably priced. Love that they have self-serve coffee for the people waiting outside. The service is good here - they are FAST! Including how fast your food gets made. For this reason if you like crispy hash browns ask them to be made well done, otherwise you'll get mushy, barely cooked ones. Outside of this small complaint, the waitstaff is great and knows the menu inside out and will even provide great suggestions like if you want to make a benedict but use gravy from the biscuits & gravy instead of hollandaise... they did it for us! ::MIND BLOWN:: Last time I was there I went out on a limb and tried the "Tex-Mex" omelette which was an omelette with a flour tortilla inside it and covered with cheese and green chile. We had attempted to go to First Watch but the wait was over an hour. Checked out Yelp and found this place a couple of miles away. Based upon the comments, either we were the exception or there are a lot of low expectations out there. After waiting forty minutes and having dry glasses for about thirty of those, our server finally returned with our order. She never stopped by from the time we ordered until we were served. The quality of the food was really bad. I guess they leverage a lot of frozen product to save time? The sausage looked like it was from Little Caesar's and my hash browns were not only not done but downright cold. I made a comment to the server about it felt like it took an awful long time. Her response, " I know, right?" But she did not apologize nor make any attempt to smooth things over. She did stop back by in five minutes to ask how things were. I told her the hash browns were underdone and cold. She looked at them and agreed. She did take $2.50 off my bill. My wife did not fair much better. They put inedible tomatoes and avocado on her plate. I am shocked that after taking so long, both the cooks and the server felt serving under cooked food was acceptable. When I checked out, the hostess did not bother to ask how things went. She was more interested in talking to her co-workers than the customers. We will not be returning. This is our favorite breakfast place and we go here often. This place gets busy on weekends for breakfast so get there early. We try to avoid grains so it can be hard to find a breakfast joint that can accommodate and still provide a great meal. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. They are quick to suggest subbing fruit instead of toast which works perfect for us. One reccomendation I'd love to see is the incorporation of sweet potatoes. I'd love to find a place that could substitute sweet potatoes for the white variety. We love their omelets and skillets but they have a very large menu with many items you won't see anywhere else. I tried their stuffed french toast on my birthday and It was one of the best things I've ever tasted. read more

I am very disappointed in this place. We are regulars here and we had a very awful experience and will never be going back, we have given this place 8 years of our business. We ordered, the order was wrong and we were told the cook was in a bad mood and won't be fixing it. The rest of us ate our meals while my husband waited for yet another meal that didn't come out until after everyone else was already finished eating. I ordered a Denver omelet with a side of green chili, bacon, white toast, and 1 pancake. I ordered my items through UberEATS, which allows me to see the steps of preparation and delivery from my app. I noticed when the order was on route to delivery and noted the time it took to arrive at my door. Opening the bag to my food I saw an "omelet" with under cooked hash browns, NO green chili, and the rest of my order. 1 I was upset that I didn't get my green chili, the exact reason I ordered an omelet 2 everything was cold - I took into consideration it was delivered, but it was past delivery cool and just flat out cold 3 my "omelet" was a pile of cold egg with a slice of cold ham and green pepper with melted cheese. The presentation was awful to start, not to mention how difficult it was to eat due to the toughness of the cold meat 4 a tomato was thrown in with my bacon which, obviously, made my bacon taste like a tomato This was my first time eating with this restaurant and it will most definitely be my last. read more

Every once in a while, I will get the urge to stray from my favourite breakfast places and go somewhere I don't eat at very often. I've been to The Delectable Egg only a handful of times, but every time I go I hate to say that I regret my decision. The food isn't terrible, but it's definitely not very good. I've had several different egg dishes there and they were all exceedingly greasy and fairly flavourless. I will admit that I've never tried their pancakes, french toast or waffles (I'm usually not one for anything sweet when it comes to breakfast foods), so those could possibly be great, but I'm disappointed every time when I try an omelet or scramble there. I always feel like what I order (even with egg whites and no meat) is so unhealthy because of all the grease. They do have a varied menu, but I agree with reviewer Amy L. who said, "I strongly believe if you open a restaurant and name it after a specific food, you should be a master at preparing such food.". Nothing I've tried at The Delectable Egg has been worth having again. Basically, I feel about The Delectable Egg the same way I do about Efrain's... why eat there when there are much better options? I rarely dine out for breakfast. If I do, and I am forced to remain in the 'burbs, then this place suffices for a clean, friendly, and bright location. Given its strip-mall locale, it's flooded with morning light from a wall of east-facing windows. You have to be a real clown to screw up breakfast, and I am glad to report that no Bozos appear to work in the kitchen (at least on the days that I went; others report differently). This is an excellent place for breakfast. We were here as a group on a Saturday morning. We arrived about 10 am and were seated about 30 minutes later so expect a wait on weekends. Our group consisted of five. Two of us had scrambled eggs with corned beef hash and potatoes. One of us had the Orange County omelette which contained avocados, tomatoes, melted cheese, and hollandaise. My wife had a half order of the Idaho skillet - which was compromised of scallions, bacon bits, cheese, and potatoes scrambled with eggs. I had the carne asada breakfast tacos which consisted of corn tortillas (flour were an option also), lots of steak cubes, scrambled eggs, and cheese - there were small sides of fried potatoes and a lettuce and tomato salad and salsa. The salsa was pretty generic and bland. The steak cubes were good and plentiful but did not have the flavor of taqueria carne asada. Coffee was fine. I have been wanting to try this place in Denver and finally got to the Westminster location today. I love breakfast places and the Delectable Egg was delicious! The service was good and the dishes are traditional and filling. I got the Mexicana Omelette, which fulfilled my spicy food craving that I continually have. The inside of the restaurant is cozy and cottage-like, complete with checked tablecloths and wooden booths. Go here for a filling and yummy breakfast or brunch. I went pretty early on a Monday morning, so it was fairly empty. Seated in a nice little booth and my server brought an entire carafe of iced tea to the table with my glass, which I thought was a really nice touch. I had the eggs benedict with hash browns.
