Good taste. Excellent customer service. Wish they also had sundubu / tofu stew here as well, but they have sullangtang, bulgolgi, and galbi plates as well as stone pot and bibimbap as well as a variety of banchan. Clean setting. Semi-newly opened.

I came during the soft opening and there was no wait. There was a decent amount of tables open, but only two waiters. Then again, it wasn't busy, so it wasn't a problem. I forgot what kind of soup I got, but it was a bit bland. The meat was tender, but overall, nothing special. Banchan was also okay. However, the bossam was nice and would order again. Servers were also nice and service was good.

Hubby & I have dined in once for lunch on a Sunday, and we thought it was okay. First impression is that their meat portions are quite little. Their banchan and complimentary broth are good. I was not a fan of their Sullungtang (#3), as I feel you can get better elsewhere around SGV. Mixed meat amount wasn't very much and I didn't feel like the broth was thick enough. We also ordered their BBQ Combo (#28) with Bulgogi & Cold Broth Noodle. Again, bulgogi portion was a bit small. I did like their Cold (Buckwheat) Noodles. I did see that their specialty is Ganjang Gejang (Soy Raw Marinated Crab), which I will have to try with another visit since we just had some when we visited Seoul...and would also like to try to their Bossam. However, I do feel their prices are a bit on the higher side. Will update when we try!

our dinner spread: bossam, soy marinaded crab, seafood pancake.

Food - 5/5 - When you sit down, they serve you a complimentary small cup of bone broth to start your appetite! The menu has a good amount of selection that does set this a bit different from other Korean places in the area! We ordered the bossam, soy marinated crab and the seafood pancake and it did not disappoint! Everything was so good. The seafood pancake was fragrant and crispy, full of veggies and you definitely get bites of seafood. The marinaded crab was a small medium crab with a bowl of rice on the side. There seems to be a lot of roe and crab butter which is the best! They provide gloves for you to enjoy the crab without mess. The bossam was tender and the fresh wraps made it incredibly enjoyable. The banchan was plentiful and a good amount of variety, I enjoyed each one, especially the honey nut mix! **Please be advised that if you have any particular food allergies, let the staff know before ordering to ensure your safety as allergens, like nuts, are in the kitchen** Price - $$ - The pricing for this place compared to portion size is pretty average. It's not budget friendly but the price point is about $25-30 per person depending on what you get to share. Service - 5/5 - The servers here are incredibly attentive and notice your needs quite well. They know when to step in and provide help or ask if you may need something. They're incredibly generous and are very helpful. Ambiance - 5/5 - The interior is cozy and bright. The mood and smells tell you that you will have a good meal once you walk in. Location - 2/5 - As this is located on Main Street in downtown Alhambra, parking on this side of Main Street is not ideal but they do have a private structure in the back. It does get crowded due to it being shared so just be aware of the chance of parking on the street. ____________ **Note: Location rating does not affect yelp review, this is just for informative purposes of other patrons only.

New Korean spot in Alhambra, CA that's definitely worth checking out. They specialize in authentic skillet-style rice dishes along with traditional Korean favorites, all served hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. The quality of ingredients really stands out! The space is surprisingly large and comfortable, making it great for groups, and the service is attentive and welcoming. A nice touch--they serve hot bone broth as soon as you're seated. Solid experience overall and I'm already looking forward to coming back.

Stopped by Dae Mun since I heard it was the newest korean restaurant in the valley. It was described as the sister restaurant of Sun Nong Dan so I was intrigued. We ordered the vegetable pancake, bulgogi and naengmyeon combo + galbi jjim with cheese. The vegetable pancake came first and it was good but slightly too crispy/fried for me. There was also seafood in it and I got confused because it was advertised as vegetable (and I don't eat seafood). The galbi jjim was just as heavy as other restaurants but a lot smaller than expected with the potato being uncooked and crunchy! If we had ordered it alone for our party of 6, we definitely would not have been full. Lastly, the bulgogi was a bit flavorless and the naengmyeon (my first time trying it!) was a little too sour for my taste - noodle chewiness was on point though! Overall, don't think I would come back. I did really enjoy their walnut peanut side dish and the bone broth shots (lol).

Went to try this new Korean place in Alhambra, overall not too bad for Korean food, total came out to be around $25 per person. Highlights: 1. Complementary bone broth! This is probably the only place I've ever been to that serves you bone broth for free 2. Side dishes - refillable (except for the premium one on the white place), and goes well with rice 3. Oxtail soup - soothing soup, came with a good amount of oxtail bones, served fresh in a pot I think this place has a lot of potential and I had a pleasant experience trying it out. I like how it is conveniently located on Main Street, and the interior was quite nice. We also had fairly good service, although it took a while for me to get my check. The Korean food scene in LA is highly competitive, so I'm hoping this place can differentiate itself from other restaurants by the time of their grand opening!

This place is yummy. I would definitely recommend coming here at least once if you're in the area. The pancake dish is also very good and I love that it's filled with vegetables. The service is good as well. The ambiance is super new and very nice. I love it

We are so happy that a decent Korean restaurant with extensive menu has opened close to our home! The ambiance and set up was modern and clean. The staff were super welcoming and friendly. My husband dropped a spoon and a new one was waiting for him above his head as he was picking up the dropped utensil. Also the staff voluntarily kept our last bowl of rice warm and served it only after we finished our first two bowls. The extra mile in their attention and hospitality really made the dining experience so pleasant! We had their pork neck soup, army stew, and grilled galbi. All 3 dishes were so tasty and I highly recommend all 3! Can't wait to return to sample more of their menu!

Amazing Korean food addition to the SGV/Alhambra area! The service was top notch and it's very clean inside. First off, Daemun is very generous in refilling pan-chan (side dishes) and there's a plethora of options. Our table really loved the fried tofu and the kids loved the potatoes. Everyone get served beef broth as a starter, and kids got a bowl of rice mixed with beef broth. Hospitality 10/10! Our large group shared a galbi-jim and it was rich and flavorful! The meat was falling off the bones. Also, naegmyun cold noodles were great especially as the days are getting hotter. So happy about this place and will definitely be visiting again.

Went here for their soft opening. Solid spot for Korean food if you're in the area. Clean and spacious inside. Bulgogi and galbi ribs - 4/5. The bulgogi wasn't overly sweet like some other places. The galbi was good, a bit chewy though. Bibimbap - 4/5. A Korean staple. All the ingredients tasted fresh, but there was barely any beef (maybe five or six small pieces). Beef brisket soup - 5/5. The broth base is on the lighter side, but still flavorful. Great option if you're looking for something healthy. I'd come back to try their galbitang.

The last time two times I've had Korean food in the SGV area in the recent years have been terrible experiences. I usually get Korean food in Orange County but I've been trying more out here when I'm with my gf. Here's what we ordered: **Dolsot Bibimbap: First off, presentation was spot on with the variety of colors with the egg right on top. Once we mixed it up, it was mostly rice. There was a very small amount of meat; about a three finger pinch so basically nothing. The gochujang served with the bibimbap was one of the worst we've had. It had no sweetness to it and was too vinegary. Ratios were way off and was terribly by itself. (2/5) **Mul Naengmyun: Very refreshing but there were too many big blocks of frozen solid broth. After finishing all the liquid, there was about 30-40% of the whole dish frozen. The portion of noodles was very low. I had a couple chopsticks worth of noodles and was finished so quickly. The most disappointing thing about this dish was that there was no meat. Flavor was actually really good but unfortunately, it failed in every other category. (2/5) **LA Galbi: Highlight of the evening was the LA Galbi. The bone was very small and the meat had very good flavor. (5/5) The banchan were hit and miss. The radish muchim was very good and had great flavor. I personally also liked the squash and seaweed dish too. The mook/muk, ojingeojeot, and kimchi were insanely salty. Ojingeojeot is one of my most favorite banchans of all time but this was easily the worst one I've had. The yuksu (bone broth) they served in the beginning was amazing and refreshing. The service was good but the waiters don't speak any Korean. I ordered in Korean like I do at any other restaurant but the guy repeated the order back in English. There were only a few Korean people I saw in the restaurant including someone resembling the manager, another front of house employee, and one woman cooking the food in the back of house. Food was honestly very disappointing and the banchan isn't anything to write home about. Service is good but I expect to be able to order in Korean especially at a restaurant like this that serves traditional Korean food. They've been open for about a month now and it looks like they're still in their soft opening phase. It also looks like they're rotating out their banchans every week to see what the customers like. They have a small parking garage directly behind the restaurant offering 2 hours of free parking. Other than that, there's plenty of street parking available on Main St and 4th St. I'm currently 0/3 for Korean restaurants in the SGV area and I would skip this spot for now.

Hidden Gem in Alhambra - Finally Tried It After 4 Years of Driving By!…read more I've lived in Alhambra for the last 4 years and drove past this place almost every day, always assuming it was just another hot pot spot. It never looked super busy, so I kept putting it off. Big mistake--don't let that happen to you like it did to me! We finally went in and ordered a bunch: the Spicy Beef Shank Rice Noodle, Rattan Pepper Sliced Beef Rice Noodle, Popcorn Chicken, Sesame Balls, Popping Brown Sugar Rice Cake, Fried Milk Rolls, and Fried Taro Balls. Everything was outstanding. The noodles were amazing--fresh, chewy, with high-quality ingredients you can really taste in every bite. The broths had that perfect spicy kick without being overwhelming, and the beef was super tender. My wife and I couldn't stop eating; literally everything we tried was delicious. She especially loved the Fried Taro Balls--they were crispy outside, soft and flavorful inside. The sides/snacks were all hits too: the Popcorn Chicken was perfectly seasoned and crispy, the Sesame Balls and Popping Brown Sugar Rice Cake brought great texture and sweetness, and the Fried Milk Rolls were a fun surprise. Service was top-notch--shoutout to Icey, who took such great care of us. One of the best and most attentive experiences we've had in a while. If you're in Alhambra and love good food, do yourself a favor and stop in. You won't go wrong here--highly recommend! 5 stars all the way.

When you come in, there is a sign that tells you to order before being seated. My sister and her bf had yet to arrive so I placed a sizeable order for the 4 of us. Luckily, they were there (waiting in the car) so I told them to walk over so we can be seated. I ordered 2 orders of chiayi chicken (1with white rice and 1 with brown rice), 2 orders of thousand layer pancake (1 with egg and 1 with egg and cheese), shrimp wonton, dance dan noodles, wonton noodle soup, hakka mochi and forbidden rice pudding. For drinks we had a few of the shaken iced green teas and 1 taro milk tea (my sister said it didnt taste like taro) Everything was great. I was surprised my sister's bf liked the food. The chiayi chicken was good with a bit of the chili sauce (sambal). The thousand layer pancake was good if you dip it in the black vinegar (mixed with chili oil and a little soy sauce). The shrimp wonton were surprisingly light and tasty. The dan dan noodles was balanced my medium thin sliced cucumber. Everything was portioned very small so you can try everything.we didnt get additional sides because were getting full. The desserts was what I was looking forward to and it did not disappoint. The hakka mochi reminded me of the soy pudding stalls in singapore that had mochi balls filled with a black sesame paste and peanut paste inside. This is what the hakka mochi was but in dry soft chewy form with black sesame and peanut grains to top it off. For my sister, it reminded her of the filipino dessert pichi pichi. The forbidden rice pudding reminded me of a soupy version of the filipino dessert biko. It had chunks of sweet potatoes and tapioca. Also very good but my bias is the hakka mochi. The ambiance was bright, bustling and inviting. Very small tables perfect for a quick bite. Highly recommend if you want a tapas style lunch that doesn't break the bank.

Absolutely loved the Thousand Layer Pancake with Egg and Cheese. I wasn't so big a fan of the Dan…read moreDan Noodles, though, as the noodles were overcooked and clumped together in a huge mass. We waited 25 minutes for a table, which makes sense for a Friday night. Nice spot and I'll probably be back for the pancake.
