We had two fabulous dinners here. The staff goes out of their way to be accommodating. My husband had the lamb and said it was the best he has ever had. I had perfectly cook scallops. The oysters are so fresh you can taste the sea in them. We had perfectly cooked lobster and they were already cut open and ready to eat. Recommended enthusiastically. read more

Not sure if we went on an off night but.... It started by being told we made a reservation to sit indoors when it was made for outside. 15 min to even see a server after we sat. 30 mins at least to be served water. The cornbread had no taste at all. The bread on top of the French onion soup was burnt. I was the luckiest out of our group of 4 with the Ceasar with salmon. It was fine. The scallops were served as 3 scallops with one single Brussel sprout cut in half....... one. Extremely disappointed. Service and attention to detail has declined since last year. I don't know if the kitchen staff has changed, but the food lacked flavor. The onion soup and stuffed haddock lacked flavor. Even the Caesar salad dressing was lack luster. Our waitress seemed to be mailing it in...that is unless she knows you. I don't mind paying these prices, but pricing does not commensurate with quality of food and service. read more

First off: know that this is a restaurant with little rooms, a porch and outside patio. Great. Just be aware when booking a reso to specify where you want to be seated. Our initial greeting was rough as hostess tried to seat us on the very hot porch and was quite prickly when we refused and asked for a/c dining room. Once we navigated those troubled waters, the rest was great. Our server (Manesha) was excellent. Our starters of seared scallops and wedge salad were delish and made it challenging to do justice to our entrees: chicken Milanese and pork tenderloin. Portions are very large and great value. We visited Crooked Pine two weekends in a row. My partner lives locally and enjoyed his meal so much the first weekend, he decided he wanted to go back. I had the fish and chips first time, he had a burger--said the burger was the best he's had so I ordered it the second time. Wouldn't say it was the best, but it was good. The fish and chips were very good, too. First time, we sat at a table adjacent to the bar. The bartender was our server; he was friendly and personable and we enjoyed conversing with him. Second visit, we asked if we could sit at the bar and were told that the bar was unavailable due to Covid. Because of Covid, indoor waiting was not an option so we waited outside in the cold for about twenty minutes. When we returned, we noticed several people sitting at the bar. My partner questioned the hostess who said the people were friends of the owner. Not satisfied with that, my partner asked to speak with the manager. The manager turned out to be the bartender from the week before; he handled it well and comped out drinks. The server, however, was less than personable this visit. I understand the perks of being friends with the owners, but seating could have been handled differently. It should be all or nothing when it relates to customers, especially during this pandemic, when businesses are struggling to survive. read more

My party was so excited to celebrate a friend's birthday with dinner at The Crooked Pine. Unfortunately, when we arrived we were told that our group would not be able to sit together, despite several empty tables being open and near each other. The staff was rude and dismissive when we tried to suggest other tables arrangements. I would not recommend, there are much better restaurants in Ogunquit with friendlier staff. read more

We did not have reservations but we were able to sit at the bar. Having a table would be our preference, but it was a rainy evening so there was no outdoor dining and next time we will make a reservation. We ordered the mussels as an appetizer which was a really generous portion. It was two of us dining and we felt full before our meal came. The chicken Milanese and short rib were both delicious. I would probably order the chicken Milanese again instead of the short rib. read more

This just became a new favorite place for us here in Ogunquit. We walked by earlier in the day and happened to notice the menu placed out front. The selection of choices looked interesting so we made reservations for that evening. We were promptly greeted by the hostess and seated when we arrived. I started with a Beet and Goat Cheese salad and my wife had the Summer Rocket salad. Presentation was wonderful and they tasted amazing. Main course was a Rigatoni dish and also a Braised Boar shank. Both were cooked and seasoned to perfection. Desserts were a London Fog creme brûlée and Cherry Clafoutis. The food absolutely exceeded our expectations. The ambiance was nice and our server Mackenzie was very attentive and professional. We can't wait to come back next year. read more

Upon entering a restaurant like this expect a welcoming greeting, well, it didn't happen and thinking let's it will get better. We were seated with one menu and after our server came over we had to ask for another menu. She was nice but felt rushed anytime she was with us. We choose this restaurant as we were celebrating our 40th and though this was a nice place to enjoy a good meal. My appetizer of house made Ricotta had no taste, my husband enjoyed the Onion soup and luckily our dinner was delicious. We had the crooked burger and Chicken Milanese. Not impressed with this place, wouldn't go back, recommend and not sure why people write so many positive things when there are other restaurants that are better, friendly and have parking and not just for 10 cars. read more

The restaurant was full of commotion I got the seat next to the door and staff were Constantly going in and out of it. The people were also very loud there was one man who was yelling when he was talking. It was so loud we had to leave. The cocktails aren't even good. They rely on the strong taste of vodka to cover up the terribal taste of the drink. I don't recommend this restaurant. read more

For even just a one night stay in this charming town, you MUST have dinner here. The service, the food, all of it was so memorable- even down to the burger. I had such high hopes for this place. We went on Tuesday night and it was pretty quiet. We sat outside which was lovely. I had the "fool for a mule" to drink and while others may love it, I did not. This combination was not good. The tequila was just too harsh. We got the lobster appetizer which was good. Nice flavor but it was a bit on the chewy side. I got the French onion soup, which was gross. It was burnt and just tasted burnt. My partner also tried it and she agreed that it was burnt. Upon further investigation and some light from a flashlight, it looked like all the toasted pieces were not just toasted but burnt. It also was incredibly salty which French onion soup can sometimes be. For our main courses, I got the scallops and my partner got a steak. She had asked for it to be cooked medium and it was very over cooked. It was chewy and just not good. My scallops were also burnt. I know it said "seared scallops" but these were burnt on both the top and bottom. The color was a dark dark brown. Also for the price the scallops should have come with something. So In closing, ill say I'd give it 5 stars for ambiance and for service. Our server (I believe her name was Tanisha) was fantastic! But I won't be going back. read more

We went for lunch on New Years Day. We had the best French Onion Soup and Seafood Chowder! Oh and did I mention the Bloody Mary's?

The part of the house I was seated in was not very warm and inviting. Stark was the feeling. The service was excellent. The French onion soup is the best I've EVER had. Enough broth and onions to compliment the toasted, gooey, Gruyere laden bread. The flavors of the soup were spot on. The Mussels were perfectly cooked, with classic seasonings. I appreciate the chef doesn't introduce weird, "creative" ingredients to them. Whoever was in this space before felt the need to add all kinds of over powering herbs like tarragon and dill. Wish salt had not been added as they were too salty. The toasted bread they were served with was a nice quality and texture but was too heavy on the butter. A light brush with olive oil would have been perfect. Will definitely go back. read more

What a fabulous meal and great service. Get the fried chicken sandwich - it knocked our socks off! Great burgers, cooked perfectly (medium, as requested), and one of us had a crisp wedge salad with great bacon. We ate on the roof deck and thoroughly enjoyed our meal! read more
