Visiting AZ and had a great brunch experience here after church. Atmosphere: 10/10 Old diner feel, same experience as dennys or ihop. Clean and well maintained. Service: 10/10 Everything was fairly prompt and everyone was very kind and took great care of patrons. It was very busy so nothing was right away, but still done in a timely manner. I couldn't ask for kinder servers and staff, and servers were very knowledgeable of the menu and very patient with this new comer. Food: 10/10 My friend and I enjoyed our fishes immensely. My friend ordered her favorite: biscuits and gravy, which she loved. I ordered: meat lovers and it was so good! Way better than Denny's since the bacon was real (not microwaveable) and everything was cooked to perfection. The meat was of great quality. The "house fries" were hash browns basically, just as the server promised, but was only good after I added salt, pepper and ketchup, to which I inhaled it whole. The mimosas (cranberry and the pineapple orange) were the perfect blend of alcohol to juice and were not overly sweet. The serving size was not enough to say generous but definitely received the worth of the money you spend to order one. Over all I was very pleased I brought my friend here to catch up. Decided to eat here after looking for breakfast places in the area. It did not disappoint. Casual atmosphere, friendly staff. They were busy when we walked in, but we were seated right away. The Cracked Egg has two dining areas. One has more of an old school diner feel; complete with a counter with seating in front of the window to the kitchen. The other dining area is more of a basic dining room. We were sat across from the counter. Much like a neighborhood diner, there are regulars who sit at the counter. Regulars were having full conversations with servers and the busboy. Phones were brought out to show pictures. There was a real sense of community. Even with their conversations, other tables were taken care of. Large portions. Come hungry or be prepared for leftovers. My son ordered the fajita skillet with chicken. The amount of vegetables and chicken was plentiful. Food was well seasoned. He was offered a choice of bread or tortillas. Being a fajitas skillet, he chose the tortilla. I ordered the signature French toast. The signature French toast is "Three thick slices topped with fresh strawberries, banana slices, pecans, strawberry reduction, powdered sugar, cinnamon, and whipped cream." Order was plentiful. French toast itself was nicely cooked. It was not mushy in the middle or dry. French toast had plenty of toppings. This dish eats more like a dessert. It is coyingly sweet. The Cracked Egg has an extensive menu. All kinds of breakfast foods. There is a strong southwestern and Mexican influence in many of their savory breakfast options. For those who do not like spicy foods, there are all the typical American diner options. Prefer your breakfast sweet? There are multiple different flavors of pancakes, waffles, and French toasts to choose from. Having food ordered and delivered via food delivery apps is popular here. There was a steady stream of people coming in and showing their phones to pick up orders. The kitchen did a fabulous job of having those orders ready before the drivers got there, as well as getting the food out quickly for those dining in. The kitchen had impeccable timing. The Cracked Egg is a little far for us to dine at regularly. We chose it because it showed up on the map as being on the way to a hiking spot we wanted to check out. That being said, I do look forward to eating here again. There are many savory options I wish to try. First time here- 5 star Food was tasty- service was on it! My husband tried the pancho omelette with side of pancakes. He said it was really good. The pico was a little spicy for him- we're wimps though it had fresh jalapenos in it. After he took those out- there was a bite left. I had the mediterranean omelette. The place was clean and the food was good! Hubs got the loaded biscuits which had bacon, ham, sausage, cheese and eggs on their homemade biscuits topped with their gravy. I got an egg over easy and the strawberry banana parfait. The food was out within 15 mins and everything tasted fresh and was really good. As simple as my parfait was it really hit the spot. My boyfriend and I go here a lot because we love the food. But the service we received recently was horrible. Just because we may seem or look young and are college students does not mean we should be neglected. We were checked on ONCE the entire time we were there. If you're working customer service please understand it's not just about the money but about the service you give as well. It made us not tip the server at all. I'm not a fan of breakfast but my husband is. We have a couple of local places we will frequent on the occasions we go out for breakfast. This was our 2nd experience at the Cracked Egg and we enjoyed it. Our server was Melissa and she was hustling for sure! I had one of the combo breakfasts with eggs, bacon, home fries and biscuit. Scrambled eggs were not runny, which is a huge plus for me. Bacon was too thin in my opinion. Home fries get 2 huge thumbs up - they were delicious. The biscuits are enormous and so good! My husband had a country breakfast with a biscuit and gravy and he said it was good. He really appreciates places that have vanilla coffee creamer so this place made him happy. Only negatives for me were the too thin bacon (I'd probably order ham next time) and there were a bunch of flies in the restaurant that kept trying to land on our food. Came in around 115pm on a Sunday so it was quiet and not too busy. They are spacing out guests in every other booth and staff are wearing masks. Place is nice and clean and has that old school diner feel to it. They use locally sourced ingredients and make their own chorizo, biscuits, OJ and more in house, and they have Guatemalan coffee that is delish! Hubby ordered the Volcano Biscuits and Gravy. Warning, it's a huge portion! He turned it into a mashed plate to combine everything together. You can tell the chorizo is house made and it has a good amount of spice heat to it. The gravy was thick and rich, the eggs were exactly cooked right, and the biscuits were good but firmer than he was used to. They had great flavor and sopped up the gravy and all the flavors of the dish. He couldn't eat it all but enjoyed what he did finish. He absolutely loved the coffee and even wanted to pick up a bag after we ate (they sell the roast they use here). I ordered the Banana Nut French Toast with scrambled eggs and 2 turkey sausage links. The bread was nice and thick and fluffy, and the plate was overflowing with bananas and pecans! Most places you get half a banana if you're lucky. This was at least a full banana, if not more! The pieces absorbed the whipped butter and syrup and each bite was delicious and I had enough pecans and bananas for each bite! The eggs were cooked just like my abuelita used to make them and the turkey sausage was delicious! Service was great and the staff was super friendly. We are staying nearby for the week and will definitely stop back again. No need to sit and wait 45mins or longer for some of the other brunch spots when there is delicious and filling food right here! read more

Personally trying to stick to whole 30 / paleo , I ordered a Build Your Own Burger (BYOB) Adam and Eve style (no bun), with a fried egg and bacon. Can I just say some of the pictures really do this place so dirty... I almost passed by it on my brunch search today until my fiancé reminded me we had been here before. We arrived around noon on a Sunday, and I honestly expected about a 45 minute wait. That's pretty standard for Sunday. But we were told about 25 minutes, and seated in 20! The service is incredible, they do mimosa flights, and the food is freaking delicious. A super wide menu, and a plenty of space between tables so you aren't elbow to elbow with another group. My country fried potatoes were just not seasoned. I guess maybe they just expect you to add your own salt. My daughter said the Spinach Florentine skillet was okay. The vegetables were not done enough. The hashbrowns that came with the other meals were underdone in some parts. So my experience at The Cracked Egg was a bit disappointing but to their credit, they did try to fix it. The chicken and waffle was quite off putting. The chicken tenders were pre-made, super salty and not quite what I anticipated for about a $16 platter. The waffle was nice but after one bite into a chicken tender my stomach could not tolerate the chicken tender. The onion was not really executed very well either. I unfortunately had to send the dish back to the kitchen and couldn't imagine eating anything else at the time that could make up for it. My partner's breakfast sandwich was served with a big clump of egg in the middle stuffed with cheese; a big portion of the croissant was bare. The potatoes served with the croissant were not cooked all the way. Unfortunately my partner couldn't eat their food either. Long story short we both were super dissatisfied with the things we ordered. I am sure anything else on the menu would probably be okay, with specific directives to fully cook their potatoes. Also, I would avoid the pre-made tenders that I could easily heat straight from the freezer. The manager apologized and was genuinely concerned with our experience. I provided the feedback that the tenders were too salty and that I expected something more fresh. The manager graciously took our feedback and offered to get other items made for us. She also offered some cinnamon rolls but we declined. We were sent away with sincere apologies and some cards for complimentary cinnamon rolls. This establishment was still pretty new when we went and was still probably working out their logistics and experimenting with the menu. Hopefully one day we can come back and try something else in the future. I will edit my review once I can give it another review. read more

I thought all diner coffee was about the same. "Not so" said the cracked egg with their delicious Guatemalan blend. (Which you can purchase to take home) I generally prefer espresso and other coffees, but wow. This is enjoyable sweetened or not. Next is the food! These omelets are FLUFFY. I have had some sad omelettes. Here they hook you up. I took out the onions and it got no smaller. It was STUFFED with probably half a bag of spinach leaves and almost a whole crisp green pepper. The potatoes might have been my favorite part. Not oily, not raw, just amazing. Lastly the pineapple pancakes that they "accidentally " made a bit too big. Bites with pineapple tasted exactly like the cake they were designed after. The boyfriend that the green Chile on his omelet was great as well and the meat was soo tender you could hardly tell it was there. I think we have a new favorite breakfast spot! read more
