I believe the oil might have been too hot. It was burnt. We got the epic and it was the worst one we've ever had. Could not eat it. :(

My favorite exotic market in Utah. I find everything I need to satisfy my island cravings here…read more They sell Coco Rico, a Puerto Rican soda. They have fish and other pork parts that I use to do traditional plates. They have root veggies, recao, breadfruit, tamarind and green bananas, all of my favorites. The only downside is that sometimes the whole store stinks very bad, I think is mostly the days were they are cleaning the seafood tanks. Normally the store have a particular smell but nothing intolerable.

The parking lot was full so good start... right next door is the state liquor store... so if you gotta go... Sam's is easy to find just to the right upon entering the store. There's a variety of stir fried veggies and veggie glass noodles that looked great. Hanging in a glass booth were the char sui and duck... I got a half pound of the BBQ pork and steamed rice for $11... they would not take a tip and gave me a complementary bottle of water... the lady helping me was super nice. There is seating available inside Sam's. I've not tried the food yet but so far I like Sam's. Ocean Mart has a huge inventory of fruits and vegetables that you won't find in your local supermarket and the prices are significantly less than the major retailers. There's a butcher and a seafood section too.

My favorite part was easily the artificial creek running through the mall. They actually have trout swimming in it. TROUT! LOL. I don't think I've ever seen that inside a shopping mall before. The store selection is decent, with a mix of everyday and higher-end shops like Arc'teryx. They even have a Toys "R" Us, which was both cool and a little sad to see. I remember when Toys "R" Us meant an entire giant store, and now it's been reduced to a small storefront inside a mall. There's also a large fountain in the center that puts on a light show in the evening at the top of the hour. I wouldn't necessarily come here expecting a massive selection of stores, but between the architecture, creek, fountains, and overall atmosphere, it's a really nice place to walk around while exploring downtown.

Regardless of the reasons behind the policy, visitors and residents reasonably expect a downtown shopping center of this size and caliber to be open seven days a week--especially on a weekend day when people actually have time to shop, eat, and spend money downtown. Salt Lake City has become an increasingly diverse and cosmopolitan destination, and City Creek should operate like the major urban shopping destination it is. Closing every Sunday feels unnecessarily restrictive and out of step with what many customers expect from a modern downtown retail center.
