I would give this place 10 stars if I could. I'm in love with this place. Deep, deep feelings. Don't listen to the 1-star reviews. Either something has changed since then, or it was a bad day. The people behind the counter are very friendly. I've been so much, they all know my order when they see me coming. Sushi is no longer served here, so don't worry about that. The portions are amazing! 6 bucks for the basic no-frills chicken teriyaki, but "normal people" could probably have that for two meals. (I get my order: white rice, veggies, and DOUBLE chicken-and devour the whole thing for dinner) I'm telling you, it's amazing! I hope you develop the same love for the place that I have. read more

Osaka Japan At University Mall - Double chicken and drink, only $10.54!! - Food Court Near Me - Orem, Utah

This just to be my 1 favorite place to come to eat so far but this time I got disappointed with the what I order the plate is full but there's no taste at all even I ask who has serving the food to put sauce on it still no flavor on my food read more

I personally think it's a lot of food than we actually pay for; I know a lot will disagree; but the thing is that they're very sneaky with their charges. When they ask you "Noodles or Rice" you assume there's no up charge... if you pick Noodles they charge you $3 dollars extra these frekin guys There's a specific cashier there, where she just has an attitude for no reason. The atmosphere feels rushed and hurried; not what you wanna feel when ordering food IMO. Careful with ordering food from this place, ask questions about if specific food items cost more, and double check when you get your receipt. I know they up charge because they know a lot of people don't check their receipts. read more

Osaka Japan At University Mall - Chicken Plate with Noodles and "veggies" (just cabbage lol) - Food Court Near Me - Orem, Utah

Food not bad, but not that impressive. Service was good. Skimpy on the veggies and sauce

Quick and friendly service. Foods here please my taste buds. And wallet friendly! Come back for more I will :)

Good food and great services! We go there all the time, always satisfied with everything.

They no longer have all of the original people working there. Food is not cooked fresh but reheated on the grill. Portions were way small. I watched the guy throw on fresh shrimp on the grill assuming that was my order. Then I watched him put shrimp in my plate from the side that had already been cooked. Sad. This used to be a great place. read more

Their teriyaki chicken and shrimp tasted great! I enjoyed their Lo-Mien because it didn't have a ton of vegetables in it; mainly noodles which is what we were wanting! read more

See all

Come here often! Good size portion. Taste is consistent. Staff is friendly and kind each time. Would recommend this place for a quick bite to eat anytime! read more

It's okay.... When they say veggies it's actually pieces of cabbage. The chicken is okay, little dry. They don't offer any sauce after.... Just very average at best. Not what I'd pay $10 for again. read more

Osaka Japan At University Mall - Teriyaki Chicken with "veggies" - Food Court Near Me - Orem, Utah

Very average. When they say veggies they mean cabbage. They charge 1% more sales tax. Not horrible but it's more of a $7 meal than a $10 meal read more

The only reason I'm giving this two stars is because of the lady working there that tried to save the awful experience we had at Osaka. I will never eat there again just because of their awful staff. In a hurry to get out of there on a weeknight, the Osaka cook asked what we wanted before we even got up to order it at the counter so he could put it on the grill. I decided when I got to the counter that I wanted their special instead of what I told him and he began to SCREAM at me and throw his arms at me like I had literally just killed a child or something. I understood his frustrations but there were people also behind me ordering and could have used the meat that I no longer wanted. Not to mention their food is disgustingly greasy. Would not recommend. read more

As good as it gets for cheap and fast Japanese food. Although inconveniently located inside the University Mall food court, I still find myself frequenting Osaka Japan at least once a week. All of the food is delicious - at least from what I have had so far. I usually get the teriyaki chicken and rice, with extra chicken. It is always cooked fresh and right in front of you. The meat quality is 8/10. Sometimes I get some stringy pieces, or some that may be a little too crunchy. But boy is it fresh! Chicken extra chicken is actually a huge mound of food. I always leave full. However, because eating that much chicken at the same time often gets a little boring and downright tiring, I often will switch things up and get the chicken and beef. Best part about this place? I get hot fresh Japanese food for under $10.00. If I was a responsible human, I could probably eat half of what they give me, and eat the other half for dinner a few hours later. Come hungry, because you'll need some space in your stomach to pack down an entire serving with the extra chicken. They often will run a lunch special incentive, where if you buy one order of chicken teriyaki they will give you a second order for 4 or $5. The staff are super friendly, and they always do their best to get you in and out of the line as quickly as possible. If you are tired of panda express and the other awful chain restaurants, come give Osaka Japan a try at the mall. read more

Osaka Japan At University Mall - the inside of the restaurant - Food Court Near Me - Orem, Utah

They have hidden charges and the sales tax is a whole percent more. The cook es extremely rude. The lady at the till is impatient with customers and she was with me as well. Overall a bad experience the food is alright but it's not worth ruining your mood. read more

In a mall food court surrounded by mediocre eating establishments one place stands out above the rest. This place blends in with the rest of them until they give you a free sample. Like a drug dealer waiting in the shadows to get you addicted they hit you with the free sample and then boom! You wonder if this sample piece of chicken has been sent from the gods. You are now hooked and you can only think this food is: read more

Osaka Japan At University Mall - The best. - Food Court Near Me - Orem, Utah

I came today and bought some food to try it out. It wasn't my thing and i felt bad but I didn't waste my money on something i wasn't gonna eat so i tried to get a refund. it was a stressful situation i felt like they didn't understand what i was saying and the owner said they didn't give refunds. i normally never do this and i felt super bad but it was kind of expensive and i just threw it away after two bites. i will not be dining here again. read more

Never order sushi from here. It's absolutely terrible. Their samples are fine but don't make the same Mistake I did. This is hands down the worst sushi I have ever had. read more

Food is good but customer service is pathetic. The cook is always rude asf. Quit your job if you're gonna be angry the entire time.

I really like teriyaki and have come here twice. Unfortunately, even though the food is okay the service at this location is horrible. You'll feel bullied by the staff after you leave. I've gone twice to see if it was poor both times. I hate to say it but they disappointed me both times. They added items that I didn't ask for both times and overcharged us. When I calmly pointed out the error the counter person argued with me and refused to budge. Visit this establishment at your own risk. Food decent, service awful. read more

Simply fantastic. This place blows the rest of the food court and most of the surrounding restaurants out of the water in a big way.

Great food and my favorite place to eat in the mall. 4* only because the price keeps going up. My meal used to be $7.47 and now it is $8 with no change in food quality. read more

Workers are friendly and the food is sooooooo good!!! I get the soba noodles with chicken or shrimp no veggies. You can't go wrong. I literally hated chicken teriyaki before Osaka. I now crave it all the time. Double the chicken and you have leftovers for lunch tomorrow! read more

The chicken and noodles is my go-to and I rarely stray from it because it is just sooooo bomb! The portions are large enough to have plenty of leftovers, they give you tons of chicken!(shrimp not so much) I prefer the Orem mall location to the Provo mall, they seem to have better chicken. 5* because I am severely addicted and cannot get enough. read more

I absolutely adore the teriyaki chicken with noodles and vegetables! And of course you must add extra sauce at the end! Make sure that you clearly state your order and have them review it because sometimes they want to "up charge" you with extra chicken and extra everything else. However it is delicious! And if you attend regularly they will recognize and greet you like they would a friend. read more

They don't have a big selection, but I still love them enough to give them at least 3 stars. Some might think 3 stars is horrid, but in my case it isn't a negative thing. They aren't my favorite, but I don't dislike them either. 3 stars is neutral and that is where I stand with this place. I recommend you try their stuff at least once. read more

I've never had a problem with this place until today. I ordered 2 plates, and the noodles on the 1st plate looked old and dry. Like they had been sitting there for a very long period. I asked them if they could please change the noodles due to one plate having fresh cooked noodles and the other having old dry noodles. She didn't want too and told me they were the same. I asked her again. So what she did was threw my plate back into the fresh noodle bin!!! AND THEN MIXED THEM IN! And served them back onto my plate! I explained to her I didn't want what she had done. And she insisted on telling me they were FRESH!! Like I didn't witness the entire thing! I asked to speak to the manager and she told me she was the owner!! Know only imagine what else they do behind doors. We won't be eating here anymore. read more
