I personally think it's a lot of food than we actually pay for; I know a lot will disagree; but the thing is that they're very sneaky with their charges. When they ask you "Noodles or Rice" you assume there's no up charge... if you pick Noodles they charge you $3 dollars extra these frekin guys There's a specific cashier there, where she just has an attitude for no reason. The atmosphere feels rushed and hurried; not what you wanna feel when ordering food IMO. Careful with ordering food from this place, ask questions about if specific food items cost more, and double check when you get your receipt. I know they up charge because they know a lot of people don't check their receipts. read more

They no longer have all of the original people working there. Food is not cooked fresh but reheated on the grill. Portions were way small. I watched the guy throw on fresh shrimp on the grill assuming that was my order. Then I watched him put shrimp in my plate from the side that had already been cooked. Sad. Their teriyaki chicken and shrimp tasted great! I enjoyed their Lo-Mien because it didn't have a ton of vegetables in it; mainly noodles which is what we were wanting! read more

They have hidden charges and the sales tax is a whole percent more. The cook es extremely rude. The lady at the till is impatient with customers and she was with me as well. Overall a bad experience the food is alright but it's not worth ruining your mood. read more

The only reason I'm giving this two stars is because of the lady working there that tried to save the awful experience we had at Osaka. I will never eat there again just because of their awful staff. In a hurry to get out of there on a weeknight, the Osaka cook asked what we wanted before we even got up to order it at the counter so he could put it on the grill. I decided when I got to the counter that I wanted their special instead of what I told him and he began to SCREAM at me and throw his arms at me like I had literally just killed a child or something. I understood his frustrations but there were people also behind me ordering and could have used the meat that I no longer wanted. Not to mention their food is disgustingly greasy. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. I'm in love with this place. Deep, deep feelings. Don't listen to the 1-star reviews. Either something has changed since then, or it was a bad day. The people behind the counter are very friendly. I've been so much, they all know my order when they see me coming. Sushi is no longer served here, so don't worry about that. The portions are amazing! 6 bucks for the basic no-frills chicken teriyaki, but "normal people" could probably have that for two meals. As good as it gets for cheap and fast Japanese food. Although inconveniently located inside the University Mall food court, I still find myself frequenting Osaka Japan at least once a week. All of the food is delicious - at least from what I have had so far. I usually get the teriyaki chicken and rice, with extra chicken. It is always cooked fresh and right in front of you. The meat quality is 8/10. Sometimes I get some stringy pieces, or some that may be a little too crunchy. But boy is it fresh! Chicken extra chicken is actually a huge mound of food. I always leave full. However, because eating that much chicken at the same time often gets a little boring and downright tiring, I often will switch things up and get the chicken and beef. Best part about this place? I get hot fresh Japanese food for under $10.00. If I was a responsible human, I could probably eat half of what they give me, and eat the other half for dinner a few hours later. Come hungry, because you'll need some space in your stomach to pack down an entire serving with the extra chicken. They often will run a lunch special incentive, where if you buy one order of chicken teriyaki they will give you a second order for 4 or $5. The staff are super friendly, and they always do their best to get you in and out of the line as quickly as possible. If you are tired of panda express and the other awful chain restaurants, come give Osaka Japan a try at the mall. read more

I really like teriyaki and have come here twice. Unfortunately, even though the food is okay the service at this location is horrible. You'll feel bullied by the staff after you leave. I've gone twice to see if it was poor both times. I hate to say it but they disappointed me both times. They added items that I didn't ask for both times and overcharged us. I absolutely adore the teriyaki chicken with noodles and vegetables! And of course you must add extra sauce at the end! Make sure that you clearly state your order and have them review it because sometimes they want to "up charge" you with extra chicken and extra everything else. However it is delicious! I've never had a problem with this place until today. I ordered 2 plates, and the noodles on the 1st plate looked old and dry. Like they had been sitting there for a very long period. I asked them if they could please change the noodles due to one plate having fresh cooked noodles and the other having old dry noodles. She didn't want too and told me they were the same. I asked her again. So what she did was threw my plate back into the fresh noodle bin!!! AND THEN MIXED THEM IN! And served them back onto my plate! I explained to her I didn't want what she had done. And she insisted on telling me they were FRESH!! Like I didn't witness the entire thing! I asked to speak to the manager and she told me she was the owner!! They don't have a big selection, but I still love them enough to give them at least 3 stars. Some might think 3 stars is horrid, but in my case it isn't a negative thing.
