I will start off by saying the food was amazing! When we did not receive our order through Yelp/GrubHub after over an hour (showed "still in process" online), they called us to let us know it was still there. I asked if I should run down to get it and they said yes, not realizing at the time that we ordered for delivery. I ran down to pick it up and they confirmed that it was supposed to be picked up and delivered to our hotel by GrubHub and apologized for it not being brought to us. They also confirmed that the order was READY at 8:41pm, but it was now 10:05pm! They said the sushi had been out for too long and would make us a whole new order, which was ready within 10 minutes, free of charge. My brain had not even processed that my husband ordered sushi and that sushi should always be kept cold, so I really appreciated them being upfront about it! I do not want to know how that would have gone later if my husband did eat the first order... I also appreciated the comfy chairs available while waiting for my order, as we had been driving for 8 hours that day and I was very sore and tired. The restaurant wasn't too loud and looked clean and well-kept from what I could see by the front door. Plenty of parking outside, although I did show up late at night while all the other stores/restaurants in the strip mall were closed. They were not packed at that time, but had a good number of people at tables spread out and everyone seemed to be having a good time. It was a nice atmosphere overall and if my children were not feral 99% of the time, I would have a sit-down meal here sometime! I also love that they are open till 10:30pm every night, which was a lifesaver for us! We got into town late on the Sunday after 4th of July, and most places were closed by 8pm, so it was great that they were open late. Our GrubHub driver showed up while I was waiting and said he had just received the order on his app and apologized for it taking so long, and would cancel it on his end so that I would get refunded. Although the waitress was hard to understand as she spoke very little English, she did find another waiter who was able to explain to me what was going on and they were very quick and polite to fix the issue. My katsu chicken was warm and crispy, just how it should be, and the white rice wasn't soggy or dry and crunchy. It was delicious and you get plenty for $12-ish. I also had enough chicken leftover for a complete meal the following day, which my very picky-eating son devoured! My husband's 2 orders of sushi rolls were perfectly made and delicious too, he said! If we ever come back through this area again on our next road trip (we are from Southern California), we will absolutely be stopping here again. Really disappointed by the staff. They treated my friend and I extremely poor. Our waitress did not check on us even once after the food came. The next time she came around was to bring the check. We were trying to grab her attention for about 15 minutes just to get some water. And finally, when I ordered something to-go at the end, she repeated back my order correctly, but I got home I realized... the receipt and the meal were something completely different. My son's California roll lacked any flavor and he said it tasted like air. My curry chicken dish was disappointing. The broccoli it came with was the only good thing about it. The chicken pieces were very fatty and rubber-like, and the curry reminded me of baby food- no onions or bell peppers in it, just this sauce the consistency and color of baby food. My husband liked his fried ramen and daughter liked hers. It's nice they offer kids sizes. My husband and I's meals came with plastic forks. For $68 we expected better. read more

Everything here was pretty average. My friends got the Shrimp Ramen and the Slurp Up Cilantro Ramen. Both were just ok. I ordered the Black Tonkotsu Ramen, but I didn't see any black garlic oil, nor did I taste any. Very disappointed. The soup was also very bland for me. Moreover, I had never seen spinach being presented like this in ramen before (as if it's on a salad bowl), which made me have further doubts about how authentic this restaurant was. In addition, I found it funny that $0.30 would be added to the ramen for any soup base, even for the original. Like, if every ramen costs the same amount extra no matter what the soup base is, why don't you just add it to the price instead of making it a separate cost? Is anyone gonna order ramen without the soup? lol I definitely will not be returning to this place for ramen. However, I do remember having a good experience eating sushi here a long time ago, so I might give it another chance; only for the sushi, though. Tamashi Ramen has a wide variety of options on the menu, from chicken nuggets and fries to boba to ramen, of course. The servers don't come to your table until you let them know you're ready to order, which is pretty nice. I've never felt pressure to pick a dish just because someone was hovering at the table here. A friend introduced me to this place, and I've been back so often with more friends just because of how good the food is. Inside is nice, I like the hanging plants and art work on the wall. The music was a bit too loud for the size of the space. The server was attentive and quick. The kitchen too. The pork bun was light and fluffy, tender pork but it needs some greens and crunch. Maybe thinly diced cucumber and carrot. The sauce needed a bit more punch to overcome the bun's fluffiness. The lack of those things make it not worth ordering again. Cream cheese wontons were different but ok. The shape made it easier to eat in one bite and not get crumbs everywhere (I have a beard so this is something I think about) but it made the cook less consistent so the tops were crunchy and the bottoms were almost soft. Blue Ocean roll needs a different fish on top and less cream cheese. It has a 1/2 inch square piece down the center. Cream cheese is great in rolls but a little goes a long way... Nigiri was blah. The yellowtail was about room temperature. Definitely a fishy smell though. My wife took one bite and couldn't eat anything else. Tamashi Ramen was tasty at parts while other parts were bland... weird... like it didn't come together into one cohesive dish. The noodles had a layer of oil on them so it coated my mouth after each bite. The bone in shirt rib was difficult to eat... because it's soup. The meat was chewy. The sole fish had some ok flavor but I imagine it is handled the same way as the yellowtail cause there was a taste I couldn't nail down. All and all, it's not our cup of tea. I can see that they are people coming in and take out leaving so maybe we just got unlucky, either way we don't want to tempt fate and try it again. I asked my wife what the silver lining was and she said "the Dr Pepper". 15 minutes later we are at Trader Joe's and almost couldn't keep the food in/down. read more

We've loved this place for years--great ramen and a go-to spot for us. We've always used the two-for-one deal with the Starving Student Card without any problems. But when we came with two other couples (all with separate cards and checks), we were told only one discount could be used for the whole table. I would understand if we were trying to use the same card, but we all had separate cards that we paid for that two of us could not use just because we were sitting at the same table. My kids didn't care but it's a personal preference. This is my husband's favorite place to go for ramen so I was excited to try it!! Their interior is inviting and fun - my girls loved the bubbles and fake fish in the entry way. The menu is BIG! Props to being one of the few restaurants that open late in Provo. (Mainly the only reason I came because nothing else was open at 9:30pm) Also, the great reviews didn't leave me too weary about the food.... I was wrong. The ramen was sooo bland. The spicy garlic crunch ramen tasted like water with chili flakes?! I also ordered a black garlic tonkatsu. This broth was mediocre. Wasn't as bland as the spicy garlic broth but it needed some dressing with the spices/chili oil they provided. The main reason I'm giving such low rating was the CHASHU. It tasted like cardboard......practically inedible. I couldn't even force myself to swallow it. Hopefully it was just a bad day and tastes better next time. Service was decent. After a long drive from Panguitch to Provo, we were very hungry and tired. As many restaurants close early on Sunday on top of being the night before July 4th, Tamashi Ramen sounded like a no-brainer: it was open until 10:30pm and was a 15minute drive from Provo. All was well until about halfway through my Shoyu black pork ramen, when I felt something funny in my mouth. At first I thought it might be a shrimp shell, which is weird but not unexpected as they do serve seafood. Unfortunately it was a piece of plastic, and a rather large one.
