Great Food! Lunch was excellent! It is updated, clean, and friendly service! The cook they have now is fantastic and up to the standard they had 30 years ago! There were 4 of us and we all ordered different menu items and really enjoyed them all. China town has been a Provo main stay for decades. Our son has friends who own and run the restaurant. The decor is the traditional cherrywood look seen across the country. They are always warm and welcoming every time we open the door. Our staples are lo mein and pot stickers. The pot stickers have a constant special of buying two orders and getting one free (and one order is pretty good size). Our teenager flies through pot stickers so he gets the first two and we take care of the third. They have recently begun offering Asian craft drinks like boba. read more

I was really hoping that this place would fall into that average, but still decent Chinese American spot. Unfortunately, our experience left a lot to be desired. The things that were good - the cream cheese wontons were delicious. They got the restaurant a second star. The chicken lo mein was better than expected. Good flavor and variety of ingredients. Even the soup was decently good (hot and sour and egg drop). I appreciated that with the combo, they give you a tempura shrimp, a potsticker, a veggie spring roll, and a cream cheese wonton. Plus soup. The not so great - The sweet and sour sauce was decidedly quite sweet and no sour. And the color is a slightly alarming neon pink. The ham fried rice was indeed just rice with some soy sauce and a few peas and corn thrown in. Spring rolls were very small and potstickers - was hard to tell what was in it. Servers were friendly and attentive, and the decor is not bad, but that's about all the compliments I can give. I think the food is mostly geared towards those that don't know authentic Chinese food as they didn't even have any traditional Chinese greens on the menu. The hot and sour soup was not sour at all, and we asked for vinegar to correct it, but the server brought us a vinegar soy sauce mix for dipping instead. Both the Beef Ho Fun and Green Bean Chicken were heavy on the garlic but lacked everything else that makes Chinese food authentically Chinese. I think their egg rolls were just frozen lumpia, and the bao might have been from the same package I have in my freezer. They also charged for the tea, which can cause fights at places where I come from. read more

Me and my wife have visited this restaurant so many times within the past 15 years for both dine in and for takeout. Never once have we been disappointed with the many different entrées that we have eaten here. Every time I have ordered Chinese food here, they have provided amazing service in that I feel like family when I come here. If you told me that I had to pick a favorite food item, then I would probably say the cream cheese wontons. Although a close second is that they have 3 options..... boiled, and steamed for a healthier potstickers, but the fried potstickers are by far definitely my fav between the three. read more

If you want good Chinese food then I advise you to go somewhere else! Chinatown food is total garbage. We ordered shrimp Lo Mein and there was only 4 shrimp, and no vegies. Overcooked and too much sauce. Flavor of the dish relies too much on the sauce. The fried wonton filling tasted like it was half sugar.

This restaurant is owned by a sweet Chinese family that makes each dish to order. The menu is huge and if you get a combo meal for only $3 more you get all of the following additional items: a choice of sweet and sour or egg drop soup, egg roll, fried shrimp, mandu, and a cream cheese rangoon (which btw is the best one we have ever had!) My wife and I tried the orange chicken and sesame chicken. Both were good, but we decided the sesame chicken is our fav! We can't wait to try more of their menu items. Needless to say, we had tons of leftovers for lunch the next day! read more

I used to hate this place and I have no idea why; I wasn't on Yelp back then so I didn't record my opinions. I decided to give them another shot one Sunday when I was desperate - they were the only thing open that wasn't fast food and I'm glad I did. Full disclosure: I've never eaten IN the restaurant, only ever take-out so my experience with their service is pretty limited, having said that I have never had a bad encounter at the take-out counter. They've always been prompt and polite and what more can you really ask for in a less than 10-minute interaction? The food is good, particularly the cream cheese wontons. You guys. They have REALLY good cream cheese wontons. I am only mildly ashamed to admit that I have ordered JUST these as my dinner more than once. I have some opinions about their lemon chicken sauce - it's too thin - honestly, I hesitate to even call it a sauce, it's more of a drizzle. I expect my lemon chicken sauce to have the same consistency as sweet & sour and this just isn't that. It's still very tasty, just not what I'd expect. The parking situation is... not good. There are like 3 spots near the front and it's not like SUPER clear whether they belong to Chinatown or whatever is next door (it's a house but I'm not sure if people live there or if it's a business) and there are a bunch of spaces in the back but it's not well lit, and when you go there at night it's a little spooky. I can't put my finger on why exactly but I'm always glad they wrap up the food well enough for me to carry with one hand so that my pepper spray hand is available to protect me. read more

We ordered our favorite appetizers; Pan fried dumplings and the cream cheese won tons. These were awesome as usual. We got the Beef Lo Mein and Orange Chicken as our entrees. These were even better than I remembered. The Lo Mein had nice crispy veggies, delicious noodles, and lightly pan fried beef. The chicken batter was nice and crispy. Not too thick or chewy. I will do the extra hot next time because although their sauce didn't suck at all, I coulda used a little more capsaicin. I do miss their twice cooked Chinatown hot beef and chicken but our choices today were also tasty. They have cooked us the Chinatown hot beef when we've gone there for Christmas. Yes, we are those people. This restaurant has been a Provo staple and needs our support more than ever. I regret only that I couldn't order or eat more. read more

Well, I hate giving negative reviews. And I'm pretty tolerable and eat most anything. But, I must warn others. It is sad as these people look like they are trying so hard. We ordered the Family meal C for three. Positives: soup had good flavor, lots of food for the price, it came fast, the people were nice, booth was comfortable, the appetizer tray was presented nicely and was palatable. Negatives: Sizzling rice soup came with a big bowl of crispy rice that the server poured in. It overwhelmed the soup and soaked almost all the broth up. More like mush than soup. Spicy shrimp was heavily battered- it was a challenge finding any shrimp deeply encased in its tomb. General Tso's chicken was deep-fried orange chicken with barely any bite to it. Probably best dish of the bunch (which is saying very little) Singapore rice noodles- I can feel my feet swelling and ears ringing from the massive amount of salt (MSG?) in it. Little flavor. We had four boxes of leftover food (why did we take the leftovers? Because our guest didn't want to waste them). Super pleasant service, but when I can't eat more than 3-4 bites, for anyone that knows my appetite, that is sad. Maybe try something from hidden menu next time? Very friendly atmosphere and staff...thats the only good things I have to say about this place. This was the most bland Chinese food I've ever had. The hand pulled beef noodles were the most bland of all. I spit out one of my beef dumplings because there was more gristle than not. The Goji soup had a full shrimp with eyeballs and horn included, and the glutinous dough balls with meat, in the same soup, tastes like a $1.00 kipper snack wrapped in play doh. I've eaten at plenty of Chinese restaurants and it's my favorite kind of food but maybe this was too authentic for me??? I'm not sure but I am sure I don't think I'll ever order food from here again. read more

This is a neighborhood favorite for us and we order from them at least once a month. We love their Tiny Spicy Chicken, Orange Chicken, Vegetable Egg Foo Young, and many other dishes. My kids love the House Special Lo Mein and Fried Rice. I have not tried the more exotic dishes, but you can go wrong with the traditional dishes and stir fries. read more

I was always hesitant to try this restaurant because it looks kind of ghetto from the outside. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The service was great and very fast. We read some really great reviews, mostly from take out and decided that we would go and grab something to eat. We headed in and had a good meal, but it was another hit and miss location. Service was the best part about this lcoation. The place was queit andthere was no one else there for the afternoon meal. The cook and the other just finshed serving us and headed to the next room to talk. I saw them come out only a couple times to check on us and to look into helping the guy picking up an order. We ordered a few things that are kind of staples of chinese places, they were not bad, but not great. Our food was overcooked, but tasted very good. Pros: Service, ok tasting. Cons: was overcooked, slow, alone in a large resteraunt. read more

My coworkers and I order from this restaurant frequently and we all really enjoy the food. It's not amazing or mind blowing, but it is satisfying and not overly greasy or gross. I would MUCH rather eat here than at any Chinese restaurant of this caliber, or even Panda Express. Their delivery service is fast and they are easy, and nice. Their food is super cheap, and their portion sizes are huge. If you're looking for cheap, hits-the-spot, GIANT chinese food, this is the place to come. Don't expect to have a classically trained chef preparing your food and serving it to you on a silver platter with a glass of champagne. This isn't that kind of place and honestly you need to lower your expectations for cheap Chinese food in general if that's what you expect. I have never been inside their restaurant so I can't speak of how the interior looks, but they produce tasty food that isn't swimming in grease or dry as a bone. I really wish I could say the food here has improved over the past several years. I had heard from several people that it had. It used to be great, but it is no longer. I noticed no improvement in the quality of the food itself. The people here are very nice and accommodating, and will do pretty much anything you want. But it just doesn't make up for the food's lack of flavor and quality. We've given it a few chances, trying many menu items. The Hot and Sour Soup is the most disappointing to me. It has every element of great H&SS except the sour. It's so blatantly off-kilter that I didn't even finish it, nor order it again. The fried rices are all just okay. The ham version is probably the most acceptable. The others are a bit lacking in flavor and ingredients. Or, maybe I was most disappointed in the Tiny Spicy Chicken. Every Yelp review I read raved about this entree. I ordered it spicy, extra spicy. It came doughy, flavorless, with as little spice as chicken inside. So sad. The sauce seemed like it had potential, but it just couldn't make up for the nastiness of the rest of it. The Pork with Garlic Sauce included veggies that I believe I could identify as different from each other, but they were all the same translucent color, and completely absent of flavor. The pork "strips" were so indiscernable, they should include the word "tiny" in the description of this dish as well. I also ordered this extra spicy. I would rate it a zero on the spice scale. Then, there was the Cream Cheese Wontons. If I could rename them, it would be Sweet Grease Wontons. I'll leave it at that. Our follow-up visit garnered us a bag filled with Orange Chicken (ordered extra EXTRA spicy) and Shrimp Lo Mein. The chicken was anything but spicy AGAIN, but otherwise okay. Not the best of this type of dish, but not horrible. The Lo Mein was completely flavorless, with its 4 1/2 pieces of shrimp, and almost nothing else. The good news is we never spent a ton of money at Chinatown. read more

I have been to this place twice. The first time, I loved it. The food was great and the size of the plates were large enough that you can order one thing and share it with someone else. The service was good but on our second time the service was aweful! The food was still good but the service was just bad. It looked like its a family run place and the first time we went their daughter took our order and she was super friendly. The second time i guess it was the mother and man was she rude. Its like she didn't even care that we were there. She never smiled once and just looked pretty angry. The husband showed up once in awhile to check up on things and he too didnt seem all that friendly. I recommend the food but was very un-happy with the service. We haven't gone back since. read more

My go-to Chinese place in Provo/Orem. Not because the food is awesome--it isn't, it's at the low end of what a Chinese dive would give you in any other major city (those of you who have lived in a neighborhood with 5-10 Chinese dives all within a few blocks--this is the one that nobody ever goes to because they charge the same prices and have the same menu, but just seem to lack the enthusiasm to cook up to the neighborhood standard). It's passable, but you keep having the nagging feeling that you wish there was a better joint around, food-wise (so far, I haven't found it). Food is probably three stars. What sets this place apart is that it is actually an honest-to-god family-run business run by a Chinese family. It is slightly (okay, really) divey, BUT the family is super friendly, you will be waited on hand and foot, and they'll come sit with you and chat if you strike up a conversation. Their authentic Chinese menu ("Hidden Menu") is not super extensive but is a step above the standard fare American-Chinese menu. If you're into more authentic fare, I suspect this is as good as it gets in this part of Utah Valley. read more

They have updated the inside but it's still a little run down for a restaurant, we don't care about the ambiance though, we go for the yummy food! Since I have moved from Canada, I have been trying to find a REAL chinese food place. I swear Las Vegas is lacking in these, but of all places, I find one in Provo, on a Saturday night at 930 pm on the way home from a BYU Basketball game... SO, my first question upon pulling up to this restaurant was "are we safe here?" The restaurant looks kind of old/scary from the outside - on the corner, older buildings, not a lot of parking, and still has Christmas decor on the windows in February. BUT we went inside to get a late take-out dinner. We ordered House lo-mein and General Tso's chicken. YUMMY!! Lots of food, very tasty, big pieces of chicken, delicious sauces, and leftovers for today :) In addition, it was actually REAL chinese food (I am sorry but China-go-go or PF Changs are NOT real chinese food... although PF Changs is quite good). The restaurant itself is old/seems like it could use a BIG facelift inside. I don't know if I would want to eat THERE, but taking it to go seemed to make it all better in my mind.
