I recently visited the White Plains, NY store to grab some last minute items and replace a shelf for an Elfa desk project. We worked with Rudy on the design plan and he did a great job. On this trip, we worked with Carmen to have a shelf replaced, and she really helped make the trip go smoothly. She helped keep people inside and socially distanced when it started storming outside. She found every item and replaced the shelf quickly and kindly. We will continue to do business at this location whenever we can. read more

Some staff members are simply awful. They have a code so that they can talk bad about customers without the customer knowing. They will insult "fat asses" or anyone that they choose to target. The manager needs to pay attention to what the staff members say to each other on their headsets. read more

I recently visited this store on February 4th. I ordered a few items online and I needed to exchange one of them. When I approached the cash register, I was greeted by an employee (Doreen) and she asked if I had my receipt. I showed her the packing slip (which is what came with the order) and she immediately did a 360 and was extremely nasty with me. She insisted that I MUST have a receipt to do a return and etc etc, she ranted on and on about the return policy. I was so annoyed with her that I asked her to call over a manager. 5 min later, it turns out you can do a return with the packing slip!!! I couldn't believe how rude, awful and disgusting this women's attitude was. Over a return!! NEVER again will I step foot in this store nor give any of my money to this company. The Container Store should train their employees to act professional and to treat their customers with courtesy and respect. read more

Fantastic service for custom closet design. After spending an arm and a leg at California closets 2 years ago for my apartment walk in, I was shaking in my boots when it was time to get closets designed for a much bigger space. I decided to explore the options at the container store and it happened to be around the time of the 30% off Elfa sale. Man oh man what a score! Bill? (I believe that was his name) helped us map everything out and come up with some really cool designs that work wonders for his and her style closets. It came out to 3k including installation (8 closets) which if you have shopping around you will know that is a STEAL. I felt like I got away with something! The closets came out great, minor issue during installation but it was quickly remedied. Really recommend the closet team here! read more

When I first drove by the store I thought to myself how stupid who needs a container store and then once I've stopped in and tried everything out and looked at stuff I realized I am really organized and I absolutely love the idea I shop here at least once a month and I get all my stuff organized in a way that I could have never thought before it is so nice to have a store like this yes it's pricey but it's totally worth it if you want to go for the nice stuff they have expensive if you want to go for stuff made of plastic they have that too but I totally recommend stopping in and looking around and organize your life it could start with your spoons forks and knives read more

Clean, organized, and tempting. An impulse buyer's Waterloo. But the reason I want to write is to thank the store for making returns easy as can be. I just cancelled a large order with one day's notice and Hersey -- he hadn't even been involved with the original sale -- was so helpful and kind and spent much time going through the steps necessary to cancel the delivery and the installation and making sure that the money owed was credited immediately to my account (this was after one of their outstanding ELFA sales that you will see described in their other reviews on Yelp). Other places would make you feel guilty or make you take a store credit or --worse-- make you take delivery and do your own return. But at the Container Store all customers are always right. read more

I wasn't greeted but my wife was. I believe there are two pauls. The one with the glasses asked if we needed help. Another female employee approached to engage in the conversation which was great. Just the dialect when speaking to me seemed different from others... Much slower, as if She assumed that I had an issue with the English language. Very discouraging from a customers perspective. Stop profiling. Lastly, we were ready to check out and the only thing that I observed was the other Paul- cashier eye f~€~€~€ a customer. He did ask me if I wanted to sign up but he confused me about the whole 15% off. He stated every time I would come in I would receive 15% which is not true than he back tracked. I have terrible OCD - everything needs to be organized and in its place. I love the container store - it has everything I could possibly need for my organizing tendencies. This store is well organized and well stocked. The order online and pick up service works really well. I ordered something online and was able to pick it up the next day and was in out relatively easily. Staff is helpful. read more

If I could I would give 0 stars. Last year we order a elfa system for our master closet and 2 other closets. We waited all day and they never came.. today we have another one scheduled 9-11am deliver.. 12-3 install. Delivery never comes again and white plains container store is telling me that deliver is 1-6pm today and install is tomm at 10am. My paperwork says otherwise!!!!! Horrible customer service! No one takes any accountability. They all blame it on 3rd party contractors. I would never recommend this business to anyone!!! NEVER! read more

If you want to visit a store that offers the most amazing customer service and in-aisle help, visit TCS. The employees working the aisles are cheery, smiling, and very nice. They are not pushy, on commission, or overbearing. It was a great experience, and although we drove over 90 minutes to get there, we were really glad we did. read more

Let me start by saying I drove from manhattan which took me more then one hour, as I arrive I see approximately 4 people on line I then enter the location to be greeted by a young lady who stated HOW CAN I HELP YOU . I proceeded to show her what I have and told her exactly what I needed regarding free standing shelves , she then proceeded to tell me it would be a 1 hour wait meanwhile mind u there is about 15 people inside the store , she then tells me that if I need I can speak to Rob who I believe is another Associate pretending to be some type of supervisor and he then tells me I need to wait an hour to speak to a speacialist mean while I know what I needed and just needed someone to go and pull it from the back , I wasn't able to wait noooo hour especially when I see the staff chit chatting and no one was able to help , the funny part is on my way out I see a young lady who is staying to Rob that she placed an online order and the merchandise is there she would like to pick it up he then told she would have to wait for an associate who was available,,, horrible customer service promise I will pass the word on and I will never shop there ever again , TOTAL WASTE OF TIME ESPECIALLY WHEN I KNEW EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED . read more

I was disappointed in the very poor management of this store. Many items did not have prices in the holders above them. Absolutely no one asked me if I required any assistance. There were many of each item rather than an adequate choice of different styles, types, etc. Worst of all - THERE WERE THIRTEEN CUSTOMERS WAITING ON LINE FOR JUST TWO CASHIERS at 3:00pm. There were multiple cashier stations but just two were manned. I left my cart with several items in it at the door rather than wait in the very long line as did others. read more

This store confuses me. Everything is made of plastic yet everything is overpriced...for things made out of plastic.

if you need things to hold things, the container store probably has what you need. seriously, any type of box, bottle, bag, vessel; they got it. shelving, cable organization, hat racks, gift wrap - it's in there.. it sounds crazy - a shop that sells conatiners, but if you are trying to organize or store something ----- this is the place to go. read more

OK, The Container Store is one of the most dangerous stores in Westchester. You go in there to just get a little plastic box to keep something small in and then you go down the section with all those plastic boxes and suddenly you feel only 2 feet tall because there are boxes are all around you and way high! So you start to choose one but then there's another one even better & then that next one is a great color so you choose to get all three because they are all so great and then you go to the check out counter and there is this 'thing" that you know is great - you're not really sure what it is or does - but it looks so cool and you can figure out what to use it for because you really need it now! - Life will be so much better if you have it! ... OK I'm getting a bit too personal, revealing a bit too much! ... but honestly this store is great. It really does have such great things that other places dont have and the items are well made and the staff is really helpfull and receptive to your needs. Also it has all different types of things from hooks to books to desks to you mention it, they probably have it. Shop around and you will see the value here.
