The need is immense in todays trying and expensive times. In addition to that they are helping to avoid clothing going into landfills. After volunteering here I will kindly recommend that you wash all clothing before donating. Volunteers will sort through to make sure only clothing with no rips/stains move on to be donated. All other clothing gets sent to a facility to be used in textile recycling or thrift store use which the organization receives money for so they can purchase much needed clothing items.

The restroom is closed; a sign on the door reads "entry after payment." This has happened twice during different shifts--once on Sunday and again today. It is impossible to shop properly: the first time, I paid for some items just to gain access to the restroom, yet I was still denied entry. Furthermore, you aren't allowed to take items you've already paid for into the fitting room, so ultimately, you can neither continue shopping nor make a purchase. It was a thoroughly unpleasant experience: it's summer, you can't drink water, and you can't shop if you need to use the restroom.

We contracted with the junkluggers to clean out my mom's apartment on Wednesday June 24th. On June…read more18th, I had emailed Junkluggers the certificate of insurance that my mother's building required. On June 23rd at 9AM, I called to see if the COI was ready to be sent to the building and I was told it was not done yet. I called at noon and at 3:00 and every time was told the same thing, it was being worked on. Then at 4:00 I was told the Internet was down and the COI would not be sent until the following morning which was the day of the appointment. I reminded them that if the building did not get the COI, the appointment would have to be canceled. Thankfully the district manager was able to email the COI to me at 5:00 which I then forwarded to the building management. When we had made our appointment, we were told we'd be getting four workers and two trucks to clean out the apartment, instead one truck and two men showed up. The men who showed up did a good job but once the truck was filled, they had to leave. My mother's apartment building did not allow furniture removal after 4PM and we were told the company had no idea when the second truck would arrive. We were advised to reschedule and have the second truck come Friday morning. We were told we would be first on the schedule for Friday, but the truck did not arrive at my mom's apartment until almost 11 o'clock. The two men on the second truck had a lot of problems figuring out how to remove the remaining furniture from the apartment and had to be told several times to take out all the remaining furniture and bags. Pro: They honored the estimate even though our final load was slightly more than estimated Con: The COI should had been completed earlier and not delayed until right before the appointment. When you contract for four men with two trucks, that is who should show up for the job. We should not be inconvenience to have to come back a second day.

No one really has the courage to say anything about the treatment homeless people get in these shelters. However, it's about time and I don't even care if this doesn't reach people because this is a personal gift to pacific house. You have people in this program who havent even been spoken to about housing. People who have been here for months upon months without even being spoken to by a case manager. If that's what you even want to call them. You have us signing contracts saying we'll follow a dress code and that we'll have to even start paying to stay here everyday 5-10 dollars or do landscaping chores. We've been given uncooked meat and people have gotten sick. People overdose day after day and no investigation or care goes into it except for detox and come back and do the same thing. But then you have people getting kicked out for not being able to get a ride back from work or having service to call back. You have people getting harassed by other people living here and never getting even a warning. You have some staff who are cool, and others who give out dirty sheets to people who just don't want to deal with their attitudes. You have higher ups feeling interrogated by people who live here when they just want answers to their questions and end up being left without answers either way. You want to end and prevent homelessness, but all pacific house does is make living and getting better harder for everyone who lives in these places. And we're told we can leave if we're unhappy but are forced to stay because we have no where else to go. There's no alternative and this organization is making people miserable. Those quotes from homeless people on their website are bullshit. And I read you guys have a 4 star rating but, I couldn't find a rating anywhere. So i decided to leave a review. Yeah some people make it out good. But the people who leave have nothing but bad stories about these places. Someone investigate this organization. They have to be violating homeless rights. And if we don't have a right to better treatment, there needs to be a law implemented, because there is no one defending us. We need an advocate, or people need to start advocating for themselves. But it's hard when you have nothing to even start from.
