Coronavirus or not, there are some antique things I will just never in my right mind buy: bedding, bed frames, sofas and cushions. But anything that I can easily hose down, wipe and clean with ease such as wooden tables, wooden chairs, shelves- are keepers. I've been around the world searching for a small wooden table I can use for my portable sewing machine instead of lugging it around my house and FOC II met me here. This place has Vintage, some Retro and can probably find a few Contemporary pieces. And, let me be clear about something: Furniture on Consignment is legit with quality finds. And you don't have to put the hand deep in your pocket since you can find something for all budgets. My $65 small wooden table is cute- but I'll funktify it with a color to suit my style. Service from Terri towards the end was friendly and Hunter made sure he got my table out in one piece in these tight corners. Don't mind returning.

My wife and I recently came out this way for a friend's birthday at some local winery. Beautiful…read moreplace - outdoor picnic tables, rock walls, string lights and tangles of grapevines spreading down a gently rolling hill. Anyway, as soon as we got there I let my wife out of the car and told her I was going to go buy some crap at the nearest Goodwill. She was a little disappointed, but by now she's used to that. So I ended up at this Goodwill in Shelton and I have to say, I was a bit disappointed as well. While most of these little factory towns in the Naugatuck Valley had a decidedly rundown rustbelt vibe to them, this Goodwill was located in a big splashy new shopping center with those corny fake facades and the interior was brightly lit, nice-smelling and overall pretty clean. Right off the bat, none of this does anything for me. But I press on. As far as the goods are concerned, this place is on par with any of the other countless Goodwill's around Connecticut, which means mostly newer, boring clothing - fleeces, khakis and checkered shirts for the men and Walmart tops and endless aisles of bland "coatigan"-type thingies for the women. You will also find a few racks of housewares items which consist of mostly damaged dishware, Boyd's Bears figurines and generic wall art. The media selection will contain tons of not very good books and CDs and a smaller amount of really not very good records. However, today I got lucky and I scored two old plaid blazers, a couple pairs of sunglasses and a giant 6XL 3D-printed shirt with a rooster holding a machine gun. Turns out the blazers had been feasted upon by moths or weevils or some other blazer-eating insects and the sunglasses were prescription, but the 6XL rooster shirt? That is simply pure perfection! Now, my wife puts up with a lot, but ditching her friends at a winery so I could pay ten bucks for a very large man's rooster shirt, might be a bridge too far so I smuggled that one home to make an appearance at some future date to be determined.

CONSIGNERS BEWARE!! I had a similar situation to Patty's…read moreexperience (previous review). I dropped off 3 bins of items on March 11th. Dina went on about how much she loved everything. I had more items but we decided to schedule a later date to drop off for the rest. Both Dina and Nicole seemed really nice and friendly. They told me I'd receive an emailed item list in a little bit. Several weeks went by and still no list so I called. I spoke with Nicole on 3/31 who told me that her mother-in-law (Dina) was supposed to have done it and will get her to do it "now". She also told me at that time that I had made over $100 and again, how much they "LOVED" everything. Weeks go by again and still no item list. Dina then calls on 4/27 to reschedule our next appointment to a later date. I say sure but I'm still waiting for my item list (everything is still amicable at this point). Dina then turns and starts getting hostile. She told me she sent the list already and to check my junk mail, to which I replied I have and it's not there so can you please send it again. She said she did already and fought me on just resending it. I also asked how much money I have in my account at this point thinking it should be more than the $100 I was told in March. She said it's $75. When I ask how that's possible she couldn't give me an answer and got even more angry with me. My response was this is horrible customer service, and again please send my item list. That night I get an email saying they no longer want to consign my items. I tell them I agree, now can you please send my item list. The emails went back and forth for days with them refusing to give my item list. I finally received it on May 2nd! They then tell me I need to pick up my items immediately or they will donate them. This place is a scam. I don't know what it's like to shop there but consigning with them is a NIGHTMARE!!
