You wouldn't think they sell coffee here from the outside, but we were pleasantly surprised when we walked in. It was giving super cute modern coastal vibes! So fitting for the beach town. I got an iced latte and my husband got a hot chocolate. Our drinks were great. It's a perfect stop to grab a drink and browse some vintage goodies at the same time. They had really cool items. The first time there wasn't even a sign stating that the sale wasn't happening. This time, at least, there was a sign. It said they were closed 6/29 due to an emergency. It didn't say anything about 6/30. Of course, the listings for the sale were still up and they made no effort to remove them or prevent people from coming out. Very frustrating. I like the sales of theirs that I go to but the lapses in communication or even just BEING there at the listed times are really frustrating. Bummer.

Or they OVER buy on a trend from the 2000's....There's no variety. There's nothing that makes this place worth a visit. Most of the staff is just as uninspiring. They offer a halfhearted greeting when you walk in, but beyond that, they're completely disengaged--mostly standing around with their arms crossed, looking like they'd rather be anywhere else. Which makes sense because they barely make minimum wage, which is concerning considering how much the owner walks away with year after year. I probably wouldn't be inspired to help customers either. It's pretty obvious that the owner of this store couldn't care less about their employees--or their customers, for that matter. Every year Santa comes and kids line up from across the country to sit on his lap and tell them what they want. In Darien, that could be a new Canada goose jacket (available at DSS) or a new pair of Nordic skis (available at DSS). Maybe even a new Range Rover (not available but DSS can order it). And for the adults who brave the intense December line to catch a glimpse of the big guy, they setup a makeshift bar (no charge of course) with Bloody Mary's, Mimosas, Beer, Wine, all the fixings. I contacted this business on Yelp and Jerry was super responsive. I decided to go down to Main Street (I avoid this area like the plague bc it's so busy) but it was well worth the trip. His booth is inside a building with multiple businesses and his is on the left side about halfway in. It was a Saturday so it was busy. He was so friendly, personable and honest. He cut the anklet, added the clasp and it came out very good. He finished within 25 min or so while I waited. I loved giving my business to this small business and nice guy. Thank you!
