I've been a TJ Maxx & Marshall's groupie for a very long time. When Home Goods made their to White Plains, I became a devotee, ever since. For one, I love their unique and funky home accessories, that I simply can't find anywhere else. And two, I could trek down to my favorite local, home accessories shop on the Upper East Side, but compared to what I'd pay in Gracious Home, Home Goods has the same finesse, for a fraction of the cost. Home Goods is a no-brainer, an entity all on its own and it's exactly what is called- 'Home' Goods. With a broader selection of items that are exclusive and interesting, for beautifying your home; adding clean, modern lines or a rustic vibe. Wood furniture is well finished and not made out of plywood stuff. In fact, I purchased an oak credenza years ago, that still stands in mint condition. I've found interesting and worldly pieces in rustic wood, glass and antique metal, that I absolutely love adding to my living room, kitchen and everywhere else in my home. I like to think of Home Goods as a treasure full of more treasures. And yes, Home Goods may not be that stand-alone, corner shop that everybody so desires, but it's a wonderful go-to source for funked-out-always-on-trend-earthy-vintage-look destination.

This is by far my favorite Home Goods. I've been to at least three others and it's almost always chaos. This one went through a chaotic period but I guess new management has kept it pretty organized. Things aren't thrown all over the place and the staff is actually very helpful unlike other locations. Since I've bought almost everything to decorate my place from here I have nothing left to buy. Hahaha that was funny - I never leave empty handed. They have a very good selection of furniture, which I have bought a few pieces from here. There are going to be things that are smashed up but that's how they get them in the first place. The key is to go when the new stock comes in and get to things before everybody and their mother has touched and or broken it. My absolute favorite expansion is their "gourmet" section since there are so many gluten free brands I've never even seen before and for much cheaper than I would pay if I just bought them online even. I've also seen management on a first name basis with customers who they have called in because they got new furniture they thought would appeal to them. If that's not good service for any kind of store I don't know what is. This is one of mine and my mom's favorite hang out and shop spots and it just keeps getting better.

Love HomeGoods but this store pales in comparison to the Stamford and Baldwin Place stores.

I recently learned that HomeGoods is owned by the same company that owns TJ Maxx and Marshalls.

As I got older, though, I came to appreciate their merchandise and would browse every once in a while in passing. It wasn't until recently, though, when I needed to make a purchase that I actually became a customer. Crate & Barrel sells upscale housewares - including furniture, kitchenware, art, and storage pieces. A family member is getting married soon, and registered here so I decided to make my way over to pick up my gift. The store is one of the larger ones in the mall - taking up two floors with easy access within the store to flow between them. I tried finding the gift I wanted to purchase on my own but couldn't seem to find it on display. Soon after, I was approached by an employee who was able to help me get one from their stock; she also ensured the item was marked as purchased on the registry. Overall, I had a pretty seamless experience at Crate & Barrel. It's out of my price range to be a regular shopper here, but perhaps one day.

The store is clean and organized, which makes it easy to shop. A lot of items are color coordinated which makes designing a room very helpful. They sell living room furniture, dining room furniture, patio furniture and lots of decor. It has two floors. I was greeted warmly by the cashier who assisted me with obtaining a box for the bridal shower gift I ordered for my friend online. Overall, it's a good place to go if you're looking for stylish stuff, but it might not fit everyone's budget.

For small home decor accessories like small end tables, benches and accent pieces, I go to Home Sense, HomeGoods, etc. Hell- I even go to thrifts stores to find "that" unique piece. But there's a difference between ridiculous and affordable. The first of the two, is where Safavieh is at. On Central Ave in Hartsdale, Safavieh has plenty to choose from to decorate your living room, family room and bedroom and they've been doing so for a long time. I recently found a Safavieh brand, small 2x4 rug for my galley kitchen at on online store but tried my luck here and see if they have that style so I can whisk it away. Only available rugs are large Persian area ones with the exception of just 2 small rugs in colors I wasn't going for. I mentioned to the folks here I was in the market for a specific small size and a particular color rug. While the service was professional, I honestly felt that because I didn't drain my bank account with any of their items, tone and body language changed towards the end and were way off. But to their benefit, rugs are quality and these folks have a lot of daring pieces. Even the items that have cracks or marks on them, were outrageously priced.

We are moving out of our apartment and have a number of goods (sofa, table, chairs, etc) that we need to get rid of. We were hoping to sell or exchange them with Best Used Furniture. I called and asked if they would be interested in coming over to check out our goods. "Absolutely!" I was told and that they would be over on Monday evening. Monday evening rolls around, my wife and I are packing for our move. The appointment time comes and goes. No one shows. No one calls. Finally after repeated phone calls to Hugo we are told "I'm sorry we have so much going on, I can't make it. Tomorrow night, I give you my word." We must get rid of these goods, so wife and I cancel our plans for the next night. Again, waiting around. The appointed time comes and goes....no show, no call. Again, repeated phone calls to Hugo and Best Used Furniture. This time no answer at all. I call the next day and get a string of excuses. Finally we reschedule a third time for Thursday morning. We are inconvenienced, yet again but figure out a way to have someone there. Best Used arrives, assesses the situation and we come to an agreement. Saturday morning, 10am they will come by to pick up all our goods. Now we are waiting around Saturday for this very important pick up as these MUST be gone. 10am. No show. No call. We proceed to call and leave voicemails, no answer. Now, almost a week later we have not been given the DECENCY of a response. I do not think Hugo and Best Used are malicious. I think they are incompetent. They are completely unreliable unless you hand deliver goods to them. I you are buying anything from them just know this is how they treat people they buy from, so do not expect much better for how they will treat you as a customer.
